awesome review rob.....seems like an awesome piece of tech!
Aw, the music at the end made me all emotional. I miss that show ^^
Great and informative video, Rob!
Who would have thought this product would still be available today?? Nice! As of last week, I'm now finally the proud owner of an original boxed Colecovision. Got it in Paradise, CA for $60. Can't wait to get this flash cart in the mail.
Awesome man, you will love it I am sure, a must have console with some titles you don't often see.
@@MaximumRD I don’t get it. I’ve watched colecovision games on RUclips. They seemed nothing special to me. I would have even said they seem crappy. And yet hooking it up to my tube tv the other night and putting in donkey Kong, and playing it for real for the first time….I was rather shocked at the quality of the graphics. It felt like I had turned on an Nintendo NES. The sound also shockingly good. If it just had had the levels in the right order, and the ending sequence of Kong falling down, I’d say it was literally as good as NES. So crazy.
@@dogeymon83 It was an amazing Pre-NES system imho. Thing is yeah, playing that Donkey Kong at home was amazing for the time it was the closest console to the arcade, games like Burger Time, Berzerk, Mr. Do!, Zaxxon, Popeye, years ahead of 2600 or Intellivision. Also some of the games like Frenzy or PepperII or Cosmic Adventure you really didn't see anywhere else. Has always been my hands down favorite Pre-NES console I think when people give it a chance and discover the library if they did not experience first hand like me back in the day I think they are surprised how great it was. Then you throw in the expansion modules, Trackball, 2600 adapter, Steering Wheel, it's just a great platform. ENJOY ! welocme to the club!
@@dogeymon83 Some of the 2600 versions like Pitfall are nice on it too. On Donkey Kong you can even do the level skip trick form the arcade (falling through the bottom to the next level) I show some of that in my demo of the multicart or might be my USB multicart, it's been a while.
The Lonely Man Theme went perfectly with the pic at the end! I totally want one of these Ultimate SD carts! It would be cheaper than buying all the games that's for sure.
Excellent video Rob and i always love that intro you use and the use of the "Walking Away" music from the Incredible Hulk just awesome. : )
A cart that takes SD cards... words fail me other than the concept is awesome. A lot of that tech stuff flew over my head too!
Who would have thought back in the day there would be a product like this, or that we can emulate arcade games right from home, amazing to think what we'll be able to do 20 years from now.
That's a really neato item...thanks for bringing it to my attenton!
I'm late to the Game, but the Coleco was my Love of video games... thanks for the share =)
@ReviewTechUSA From you I take that a a big compliment, your reviews are great!
Very cool Rob. Love the pic :)
I appreciate you very much for sharing your video thanks again I will buy my self a Atari 5200 and this sd flash card
I'm late on this video, was looking up info on coleco as I clean and get ready to test mine, I saw the super game module too. good video :)
I haven't lost the joy of the hunt I think I will when I run outta room, which will be soon. lol
Nice! I know how big a CV buff you are, this must be really awesome.
I am aiming at the Odyssey 2 multicart personally :)
@MaximumRD I shall have to have a look into that thanks :o)
@atarimax Thanks Steve and thanks for the awesome products!
@jboypacman Thank you good sir, it was not the big project or video I had planned but judging by response I think Steve Tucker from Atarimax will be pleased hopefully.
This is awesome! This is a fantastic mod, make me want to buy a Collectorvision, wasn't there something similar for the Atari 2600? Great vid Rob thanks for sharing and for going into so much detail and for posting the links to the website. I'll go and check it out.
I am pretty sure that is not an issue with Colecovison console. However I make no promise, I suggest you contact the manufacture Steven Tucker via links in description.
@MaximumRD Thanks!
Looks like a great device to have, thanks for sharing Rob!
Excellent review, but why did you film it on a boat? Got me a bit seasick lol.
Seriously though, good stuff!
i plan on picking up a celeco and a bunch of game very shortly .
I hope they make one for the Intellivision so I can play Tetris on the Intellivision. This is amazing!
very cool i have never heard of this so you can load roms on to it and it will play them well i mean Colecovision rom only this is just to cool you could own the entire collection on a few sd card thanks my friend i am going to check the link out now cheers and thanks for sharing my friend a huge thumbs up cya !!!!
@MaximumRD didn't know that. that is interesting. guess have to look them up though i guess they won't be cheap.
@lando786 Thanks buddy! Looking forward to your site!
@himortal7 Lol no maybe someday. Definitely check out the links. Over the next few days even more gameplay demonstrations, a few more pictures and even a stuff I cut out or didn't make this video oh yeah............
Finally... and it has to be 2010 for the demonstration! :-)
... ColecoVision RAM size is only 1KB, not 2KB. I know, it's hard to believe.
@newcoleco I am sure you are right, I was going by the notes from Steve Tucker's information given to me, so I assumed that was correct.
@nensondubois .I meant Cuttle Cart 3.
@EquilibriumGaming My only point to such devices is it allows the closest experience playing on the original hardware. The Colecovision hardware is not the most durable so it is nice not having to wear out the cart slot, save space and the convenience. Once the game loads there really is no difference. FOR THE TRUE COLLECTOR of course nothing beats the original cart/manual etc. Myself I am satisfied just using the original hardware by any means, I am not so much into hunting down all the carts.
13 yer old video, I just ordered mine, haha!
@JayyBlackheart Thanks man!
@EquilibriumGaming True but a big difference is you are not amulating the Colecovision HARDWARE as you are when you run the roms on a windows emulator. The ROMS are merely a copy of the original cartridge content in the form of a single file, difference usually appear becuase the HARDWARE is not 100% emulated. In the case of the DREAMCASTS the backups are disc images that have been ripped and re-structured to normal CD standards. Anyway, it's all in the details and can be discussed endlessly.
Such a sad ending. Parting is such sweet sorrow lol.
Wow, I did not know you could get these, do they do them for the 2600? :o)
@elcarohw Lol you can load more than the entire library on 1 small SD card. Pre-orders get a 32MB card which is more than enough.
@sacheen1712 Your welcome thanks!
@28steryan If you do I hope you make a video, I would love to see that!
@hyunchoi98 And your opinion is welcome, I was giving you a reply.
@james42519 No certainly not but when considering the time/effort.skill involved it is not necessarily just to cover the parts, these are made in much smaller quantities too. Personally as I have mentioned to others, having pretty much entire game collections selectable on one cartridge means not having too hunt down each and every cart individually, buying , shipping, etc. I have no problem forking out $150+ to literally have the consoles entire library at my fingertips, just my opinion.
@nensondubois There is the Cuttlecart II...........
@border205 Good I am sure you will be pleased. If you have any issue contact STEVE at Atarimax he is very helpful!
@MaximumRD I think he will be. : )
Cool vid, cool product, but something seems sketchy with their sales methods.
@border205 so to the point, I very much think they are well worth it yes absolutely, but that is my opinion.
@james42519 Oh there most certainly ARE, in fact many cartridge based systems have such devices if you know where to look. do some google searching. StoneAge gamer will soon be releasing something called the EVERDRIVE which is for Genesis, Atari 2600 has the HARMONY CARTRIDGE. NES and SNES has the Powerpaks at retro usb . com etc. Just these items are not well advertised or in your face as the tend to be made by small developers.
@khisanth75 AWESOME!
@hyunchoi98 Well at 26 sec I certainly think it is not too long especially compared to others I have seen. Consider also most of the "internet" generation especially young kids like yourself have no attention span anymore, the fact is I do not use it every video just special ones so I don't over use it. I debuted and got a lots of feedback some time ago the majority were satisfied. Fact is, if it were 10 sec. somebody would still complain it's too long, tough, you can always skip it, not hard!
wonder why there is not a nes or genesis version of this.
jboypacman seems to like the intro, but i personally think it's a bit too long.
@MaximumRD I found it but I can't post the link properly on the count of RUclips's dumb security effort. schells dot com slash cc3 dot shtml
is It compatible with Pal-N version? Can I play NTSC roms?
@hyunchoi98 hey i wan't trying to complain. i was just giving you my opinion.
@border205 To me all such carts are worth the price. They are not for everyone. True die hard collectors enjoy searching for, finding and winning the actual cart on Ebay etc. I am a true collector of HARDWARE, the consoles ONLY. I have no interest in tracking down each individual cart. For me the convenience of having the entire library selectable from a menu on a single cart saves me time. How much time to track down every single game? How much cost?
@RetroGamerVX LOL someone else does and even cheaper, I suggest you google 2600 Harmony cart.....................
Do you know if gradius works on it?
Sorry I have no idea, isn't Gradius a homebrew cart that requires the Super Game Module?
@@MaximumRD yeah
Question: Does the Ultimate SD allow you to play Super Game Module games? Or do you need to buy the Module separately to play the "Super Games?"
