    A lot of reviewers know very little about the display operations. There are shortcuts where you can access menu options with a single key press. Mine is usually setup for media on down button and tite pressure on up button.
    If you are going to be changing modes you might want the mode screen as a shortcut. It depends on what you're doing at the time.

    I like your comments about pannier design and the placement of the exhaust Mark. It is frustrating !

    looks like a fun bike they make it hard to choose having a good selection of off road capable bikes!

      RiderCamTV I'm going to hold off till the 790 adventure ships lol I'm torn between the 790 1090 and the 1290 I want more power then my f800gs but don't want to go much heavier and I want cruise control. And then there is price 1290 are $ 17k but there is a dealer selling brand new 1090's for 11k and you can pick up aftermarket cruise for $400

    Thanks for the realistic review in a fashion that most will be using the bike for in the first place.
    Just like your iPhones, laptops & car gadgets, things like the Tech are important. I would say more so on a motorbike considering the amount they cost relative to their size.
    You can't really thrash a new bike you're borrowing to review, most are brand new bikes that aren't even run in so low revs are a must.

    Has the R got electronic WP suspension?I couldn't see any wires to the front forks?

    • @kirikset
      @kirikset 6 лет назад

      balls big , R has longer travel but manual suspension.

    • @ballsbig9246
      @ballsbig9246 6 лет назад

      kirikset Thanks for your reply,do you know why its not fitted with the electronic suspension,my T is and the S is why not the R?

    • @kirikset
      @kirikset 6 лет назад

      there is a trade off. For an R version, you get higher spring rate and longer (+30 mm. 220 vs 190) suspension travel. It is more robust and heavier duty.

    If your were to buy a 1290 would it be the R or the S model

    • @RiderCamTV

    Really like your reviews and you know I watch all your vids. I do think your vids would be better if you rode the bikes just a bit quicker! I’m not saying you need to be triple digit, but let’s just crack on a bit. This bike has 160 bhp. Your walk around with the bikes are quality

      Thanks for the comments buddy. We will try :)

    • @bowhunterxxx

      It only has 100 hp in the off-road mode so the 160 hp in road mode only good for the Autobahn. So stick with a GSA better range comfier and no chain. And the wet weight is about the same as the GSA.

    1300cc, is that needed? 21" front wheel for off road and
    1300cc. Are they tubed tyres? Think I'll pass.

    You always make wacky on ktm motorcycles. Ktm motorcycles are far better than what you say about them.

    It’s poor form from KTM that you need to buy the App for £8 when the BMW Connectivity App is free and you can download maps from all over the world at NO COST - I think I’ll stick to my 2018 GSA and ”colour” TFT 😁👍

    • @FreDCBelgium
      @FreDCBelgium 6 лет назад +3

      I'm not going to bash on the bmw its an awesome bike but its a stupid arguement you're making... the bmw comes at a way more expensive price than the ktm so paying that little extra for the app is nothing ... and in all honesty i have the adventure 1290s and also the app but i just don't use it , just get an actual gps mounted its way better.

    • @RMK67
      @RMK67 6 лет назад +1

      FreDCBelgium I also mentioned the colour TFT, but will also add superior screen, far more comfortable rider and pillion seat, active suspension, heated grips and the list goes on, so as for making a stupid argument in favour of the BMW and bloody awesome app / world wide navigation - I wouldn’t waste my hard earned cash on the KTM as the value for your $$$ is far less - not really stupid being savvy with your money is it....!!!!

    • @thelonewanderer420
      @thelonewanderer420 6 лет назад

      It’s £8. You are stupid

    • @RMK67
      @RMK67 6 лет назад

      The Lone Wanderer okay £8, how many motorcycle owners of KTM are paying that £8, would make a tidy little profit wouldn’t you think and is that stupid, yes when you can get it for free, stupid is, stupid does

    • @thelonewanderer420
      @thelonewanderer420 6 лет назад

      RM K imagine that bmw makes their app free because they cost a lot more than a ktm😱

  • @FreDCBelgium

    Just my 2cents on this video : don't make a review of a bike that ment for offroading if you're just going to use it on the road , if you're going to use this bike for any less the 20-30 % offroading i would recommend the S and not the R.

    • @RiderCamTV
      @RiderCamTV  6 лет назад +2

      Hey buddy thanks for the comments. As we said there will be some that take it off road but lots will also buy it because they like it and will not take it off road. With you on the S though :)

    I expected the results from your review as its a top notch bike...less video of the bald guy and more shots of the bike please

  • @maxflight777
    @maxflight777 6 лет назад +1

    "Integrated sat nav" , yep.
    But way inferior, to the competitive BMW offering ( with the fabulous fully-integrated control wheel) .....
    As you said, a "long-winded" affair to change a track on the media player".... You sum it up well.
    Don't misunderstand me, I love KTM's ..and have no loyalty to BMW.
    I'd be thrilled if they could "whip" BMW with a new offering. Sadly this is good, but no better.

    • @thelonewanderer420

      Max Flight a bmw is also twice as expensive

    • @maxflight777
      @maxflight777 6 лет назад

      Can you kindly give an example ?
      Otherwise, you are spouting bollocks!

    • @thelonewanderer420
      @thelonewanderer420 6 лет назад +1

      Max Flight ok not twice as expensive but on average a bmw in the states is quite a bit more expensive than a ktm in the states

    • @chrisvantassel8867
      @chrisvantassel8867 6 лет назад +2

      I have to disagree, I own both and the KTM is simply better in every way. The Nav system for BMW is just an integrated Garmin which can be done on the KTM. Take em both off road and you will choose quickly which you would rather be on. KTM has a better engine, suspension, electronics and fun factor. Not bashing the BMW which has been great for me (On road) but just not the same if you are truly wanting a dual sport.

    • @maxflight777
      @maxflight777 6 лет назад

      I have owned both too. But admittedly, not at the same time Chris. You say "KTM has a better engine, suspension, electronics and fun factor" ... I agree.
      But; take into account the shaft drive advantages, wider luggage range, rider (+pillion) comfort on 500 mile days, dealer quality/ability and ease of resale ..then the BMW tips the balance.
      If I want to go off road I'll take my 109 kg KTM 450 EXC-F, (not a 230kg roadgoing monster)

    How do you review a motorcycle riding like that? Plus a motorcycle with offroad capabilities! A motorcycle with 160 hp to drive with all this traffic?
    I'm sorry, but this video is very bad.

    Nice video. I hope you do another video with the 1290 Adventure s in the same year. Regarding your comment of the saddlebags and the exhaust how come they don't do the dual exhaust like the 1990s or Chuck one up under the seat like the Daytona? KTM needs to step up to the plate with exhaust heated seat and heated grips and the option of the windscreen. I've been wanting to get one of these bikes but until they fix those problems I will not. Good video thanks
