Thanks for the feedback on the Syntech controller, it's great to hear that they want uour input on using it, & are open to making changes to improve it.
Hi! I would like to have the tool change screen on my 22Ma controller? I got the same machine but it comes without this menu and is super handy! Or you know how can I update mine? I have no touch tool setter for the moment. Thanks so much!
Hi! do you know if there is a way to get those updated screens on other people's machines? Would it require setting everything back up? can it be only done by Syntec's techs? Thank you very much for all the content
This is one of those newbie questions and maybe not the best video to ask on, but how do you measure the length of your Haimer at “0”. I have a granite TTS plate for the tormach and a height gage but it doesn’t look like you can touch it off on the tool setter like a tool. Just curious how you went about it is all because I plan on moving my Haimer over to a BT30 holder. Thanks
I’m having an issue with a G73 drill cycle on my syil x7 with the syntec control. Watching your videos you seem to have a pretty good handle on the syil. Problem is this. When trying to execute a G73 instead of the drill saying I. The hole and only retracting like .100 above the last z position it comes all the way out to about .460 above the part then feeds back down to depth and repeats this but each time it comes less above the part. Like it’s backwards from what it’s supposed to be doing. But it does a G81 fine and if I just change the 73 to a 83 it runs the G83 perfectly. I’m at a loss. I’ve never had a machine do this before. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
When you touch off a tool on the tool probe. Do you need to enter a estimated tool length? It looks like the tool moves slowly down to the probe like on the Haas mill for its first hit. I like that control. How large a program can it run in it's working memory?
I have watched two of the three. Maybe it was just that set of parts. I really like the one where you did the guide bushing for drilling. And then the side of parts you made out of round stock. You pressed them at the end that was very impressive. I'd be so scared I'd crush it
Hmm, I guess you deleted a bunch of old videos. Well I found your hobby 5 axis trunnion vid interesting. a few months ago I stumbled upon a flex spline 5 axis trunnion for a small amount more than the belted style you had posted. It has no appreciable backlash, the ratio is 50:1, its extremely rigid, and it can be backdriven interestingly. and I'm nearly ready to try it out on the small HAAS office mill we have at work. I suspect you gave up on it due to the difficulty of getting the post from fusion or whatever cam package you use to actually be able to control the trunnion. I think I figured out how to make that work, for indexing. also I got the machine simulation working with a model of the haas mill and the trunnion as well.

Jason, thank you so much for sharing your experience. Good to see quality info coming out on the Syil.

you will need to recalibrate the tool setter. But all the machine config settings should remain unaffected
As a current Mach3 guy, your comments at the end about the industrial controllers (which appear intimidating), calmed my fears.

can you program serial code engraving with the syntec controller? So you need variables which you can read and increment.

you're everywhere Peter. I miss your videos so much. Not saying they are bad now. Just after that 9ne company made you delete them.
@@ryannoppe247 I don’t know what you are talking about? I published three videos last week.

Bill is the only one I can learn from at my shop. And I think almost every guy has 10 plus years on me
I am paralysed but want to learn how to use a CNC, can these machines be operated with a PC
mouse
Are you saying they can customize the controller for you?
Hello sir,
Does syntec controller can read macro variables.
Glad to hear from you.
By the way great video.
yes it can.
Happen to know if there is a post processor available for MasterCam for the X7?
Thanks in advance,
Don

good video nerdly
As long as it's not a Hurco, I'm happy. I'm fond of Mazak tho.
