VisionTek VT4800 Dock and Active Displayport to HDMI Cables

The VisionTek VT 4800 has only DisplayPort outputs. If your monitors have only HDMI, Active DisplayPort to HDMI cables or adapters are required. Passive adapters do not work with this model and it will seem like the dock is defective. Regular DisplayPort to DisplayPort cables will work fine.

my visiontek thunderbolt works perfectly well in all ways except the DP out port to my display has always been finnicky. I use the DP to DP cable that my Dell monitor comes with. Lately the DP connection has stopped working completely. Any ideas on this?

Purchased a Dell 9520 laptop (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050) and VT2500 USB-C Docking Station to set up dual Dell U2518D monitors. Laptop did not detect either monitor.
Will using "active" DisplayPort cables fix this problem?
