This video aged liked milk to fine wine in less than a month. That's impressive.
A few facts of sorts.
both awful
what happened?
@@johnbowen5220 Henry Cavill was in Black Adam to confirm he would stay in the DCEU, some time later James Gunn Said he would reset the DCEU
I just don't want him to play a Superman knockoff. Edit: Also I'm surprised you didn't suggest Omega the Unknown.
Same no need to jab at dc like that as well
If James Gunn make the next Superman movie, that's exactly what we'll get.
@@Robert-fr4it It wouldn’t be a jab more so just a dumb gag lol
True
But that would be so funny!!!!
As a british person, and a fan of Warhammer, I do hereby say that Henry Cavil would be an amazing Captain Britain.
No he won't not because he wouldn't boss it in the role but I don't want him to to get the role because he is a Briitish actor.
Henry is a great actor he should get a big role in MCU.
Agreed
@@markjohnson3196 Captain Britain is a main part of the whole multiverse in the marvel comics. Its not just spiderman. So id say Captain Britain is a big role.
Captain Britain would be sick and if it hits could be a huge hit… they can change around the story iron man wasn’t the primary character..
I don't see him as Captain Britain, but I could see Cavil as Miracleman and since Marvel now owns the entire Miracleman IP and now reprinting the original comics (including Alan Moore's run and finishing Neil Gaiman's story) they could try bringing him into the MCU.
Henry Cavill for Beast! I think it'd be fun to see him play an intelligent character who gets to express himself more eloquently.
Doubtful. I'm feeling they're going to aim much, much younger for the main X-Men, who are after all supposed to be teenagers.
Watch Enola Holmes if u want that
@@Carabas72 Beast is typically older than everyone else so it’s possible
@@martinwalker2501
He's not. He's the same age as Jean and Scott. He's one of the original five X-Men.
IIRC he was the youngest one on the original team.
i kinda see him playing hank
I love the idea of Henry Cavill as Mr. Sinister. We need more fun hammy villains. And he could totally deliver.
Considering that there aren't even X-Men yet, it'll likely be 10-15 years before Sinister shows up, if ever.
WOOOOOAH that’s a super cool pick!
Henry definitely has the personality type and voice to be deliciously evil
They should get Austin Powers for Mr. sinister
YES!
I loved the idea of Cavill pairing up with Kit Harrington to bring the understated friendship of Brian & Dane Whitman to the MCU.
I've been saying it for months, get Brendon Fraser to play Bob, and use CGI to edit him into older MCU stuff as Sentry. Honestly the only person I'd really love to see in that role.
That would be great
the mummy deaged brandon as sentry in flash backs and the current brandon as bob… that would be amazing
also charlie hunnam's a possibility.
Interesting cyclops fact: in addition to punch dimension doorway eyes he also has super aim. So even when not using his blasts he can calculate perfect angles and trajectories like hawkeye or bullseye. -Basically dont play Slim Summers in pool/
Please tell me Scott plays against Hawkeye in a game of pool sometime
Imagine being typecast as Russell Crowe's son...now you know what being Henry Cavill is like.
I like the idea of a Sentry that CAN NOT reliably control his power, it's not just that he's afraid he really can't do it.
Yeah, not being able to reliably control the power of a million exploding suns would probably drive me crazy, too.
I think Gosling could be an amazing Bob Reynolds in the hands of the right director & script
If the guy plays Superman and Sentry at the same time, he’s won it all, + imagine the amount of money he’s gonna make
I think Sentry and Blue Marvel should get a Marvel Special like Werewolf by Night. A period piece documentary for Blue Marvel and a psychological horror special for Sentry.
@@James_MacX Feige wants Gosling as Ghost Rider.
I would love it if Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot were cast as Hyperion, Nighthawk and Power Princess. Even though it would be more of a cameo
Plot twist, Ryan Reynolds plays Doctor Spectrum (the Squadron Supreme's version of Green Lantern).
if they go that direction, get Henry Cavill, Pierce Brosnan, Harry Lennix, Ben Affleck, Wayne T. Carr, and Ezra Miller (maybe not them actually, maybe Grant Gustin ig) to play The Great Society in secret wars
@@jaredwillkians7642 Even if they put his Deadpool in the MCU, Ryan Reynolds would LOVE the double casting and make fun of it in character. Someone hit Ryan up. Let him fight to make it happen
Selena gomez should be power princess imo
That would be awesome for a cameo
On mr sinister, Henry has also proved he can really wear a suit and Mr Sinister does wear suits every now and then
this is the best reason
Jon hamm...
I want him as Captain Britain so bad , he is literally perfect
Not being blond and six foot six, I don't think he's quite perfect, but he's the best candidate I know of.
@@eshapard First of all his height when in comparison to other MCU actors would make him appear 6’6 due to other actors smaller statures. Changing his hair colour or changing it to blond wouldn’t make a difference.
You’ve fully convinced me, Henry as Wonder Man is perfect
Then gotta mix in wanda
You were so close. Beast, to me it's the obvious choice. Hank McCoy (specifically before the blue fur mutation) looks exactly like Henry Cavill. Hank is charming, sweet, a serious nerd, and although incredibly smart, never feels arrogant like a lot of the other geniuses in the MCU right now. Hank is like if you took Clark Kent and mixed him with Sherlock Holmes. Hank could also be played as British and no one would bat an eye. Now the only issue here is the post blue fur mutation look for the character: if they wanted to do the makeup thing again (which I doubt they would because it's overdone and never really looked quite right) I think Henry has the perfect head for Beast, but they would probably end up going with motion capture to make him look like a big blue lion man, and as far as I know, Henry has not done any motion capture work. Other than that, I think Henry would be perfect as Hank McCoy.
proof: preview.redd.it/e3zkkl5r7xk91.jpg?auto=webp&s=8508a09fbb44898070316497c94c89712735463b
It depends on how they approach the X-Men, if they go for the OG 5, Henry would be too old
The count of monte cristo was one of my favorite movies growing up so i appreciate its appearance in his works.
Mine too.
I mean that kid in Eternals did call Icarus “Superman”, so if he were to be Wonder Man in the MCU, he could canonically be the actor of Superman in those movies
"Wait, are you that superman guy?"
"No I'm actually Wonder Man. That whole superman gig just didn't work out."
@@projekttaku1 perfect
Given the fact that Aquaman and Wonder Woman are likely to be recast, would you consider making a ‘Casting Gal Gadot’ and/or ‘Casting Jason Mamoa in the MCU” videos?
Now hear me out:
Channing Tatum as Wonderman. No one that hunky can play vulnerable and tragic and hopeful all at once as Channing Tatum.
I posted that through the explaination of his soap opera arc i should have waited
Saw Dog a couple months back, couldn't agree more.
I've only watched as far as Sentry so far, but my pick is Brian Braddock. Casting someone like Cavill could turn Excalibur into the next MCU Guardians of the Galaxy surprise hit.
I'm surprised you didn't toss Cavill as Victor Von Doom in the hat. Because that's an inspired choice.
That's my favourite choice for Doom atm
Cavill would be AMAZING as Doom. He fits the character, I think.
He’s my #1 casting choice for Doom right now
My first thought.
I'm glad people are backing me up on this.
Doom oozes terrifying charisma.
And at the same time, he's an absolute beast.
Cavill has the chops to balance that perfectly.
Since he’s not Superman anymore…I hope he gets casted in a superhero role that allows him to exemplify his acting chops and do right by him
Not just could help you move a couch, he would help you move a couch. I fee like that's what makes his media persona and makes him stand out
Not sure if you’re a Power Rangers fan but i’d like to see how you’d cast them for the upcoming movies
1. The best Sentry story was the one where the 3 personalities merge together.
2. The Dark/True Sentry should appear if they do the Sentry.
Thanks for explaining (for some reason) the punch dimension and why it pops out of Scott Summer's face.
It is very important information
@@NandovMovies ok but the Cyttorak erasure is even more shameful in that case.
Lol @ “even if they did make the movie, it doesn’t mean we’ll even see it” That decision Warner made REALLY killed trust with the whole brand… I can’t bring myself to look forward to future offerings bc what if they decide to shelf it? (Really enjoying this vid btw!)
Could always be worse, Batgirl wasn't shelved, because a shelved movie can just be pulled back off the shelf ten years later like New Mutants. Batgirl is just gone.
@@xsanguine8 they really unmade a movie.
Henry Cavill as Cyclops I would be my choice. I doubt Henry would enjoy playing another Superman-like character more than he would something new. And, he already looks like a Comics accurate Scott Summers, which has been a trend of actor choices in MCU. Cyclops is recognizable to people who don't read comics, and is a reliable main character to keep through several years of movies.
I always appreciate your thoughtful takes. I like Cavill most for Brian Braddock, but I can see the appeal of having him as Simon Williams.
My thoughts exactly. My favorite is Captain Britain (even the guy himself wants it), but Wonder Man is an interesting out-of-left-field choice that I wouldn't mind seeing.
I love to see you pitch a legion of monsters or Midnight Sons movie in the mcu
I'm really glad you're doing the class, it sounds really interesting and I'm happy someone is legitimately doing it
Wonderman does seem like a really great pick after hearing about him!
Great vid! I think my pick would probably be Captain Britain, but I can see pretty much any of these working really well.
I really love the phrase, "was killed, but got better."
Next level video, Nando!! Loved it!
i love your videos so much, and i love your positivity and humor, you really so truly deserve more subs ILYSM
I'm on board with Brian Braddock. Cavill is an amazing fit and as a bonus theres multiple swords he could wield
Yup. Captain Britain is the most 'fantasy' feeling out of all of these characters, what with all the magic and fairies and timey wimey stuff, and when you toss in the various magic swords: boom, perfect role for the guy who plays Geralt.
This video has been surprisingly on point..
Sup, saw the notification. Clearly ain’t even watched past the intro. But it’s a good’n already 👍🏽.
Digging the addition of the "likelyhood" and "Do I like it". Not sure why you don't just keep it at a "Likelyhood". I've always assumed you went through your list in order of "Do I like it" from least to most but that could just be my misunderstanding.
The captain Britain pitch sounds more interesting especially with Kang coming up.
I haven’t seen the video yet, but I’d want to see him cast against type, playing into his more geeky aspects. He could make an amazing Arcade.
i like where ur heads at but that is an absolutely terrible casting
No offense, but that’s is some horrible fancasting.
@@hereandthatsok6689 you lack imagination
I agree with everyone above
I quite enjoy how these character histories make sense of multiple iterations of a character both in what made them engaging and their place in changing media.
Every since you said you were from Philly, you’ve been one of my favorite channels! Keep up the great work!
would love to see more of this with more actors
With sentry they could explain why the memory spell was so dangerous. It could be also due to the void being so powerful and it could awaken sentry once again. Idk I think that would be cool
Hey Nando, love these videos! Have you thought about making one for the as-of-yet uncast Batman villains? I’d love to see that.
GOATed video
Great video! I know it may never happen, but would love to see you do an inhumans fan cast.
The only RUclipsr who is tempting me to get nebula
Lovely list Nando! I popped big time for “he’s what we call in the business a flying brick.” And yeah wonder man is definitely the way to go.
i wasn’t expecting wonder man but now that’s it’s there i can’t unsee it
I think he should take over for groot, no cgi tho
The thing about Ares, the reason why he's on Earth and was working as a construction worker until recruited to the Avengers, is because he is caring for his mortal child. Henry Cavill playing a father trying to take care of his child, blackmailed into serving on the Thunderbolts ... I think Cavill could pull it off, but there's no doubt it'd be a grim-dark character.
My first thought when this video started was Wonder Man but I did not expect him to actually be on the list, let alone number 1.
Next video would be cool if you did miles morales, tombstone, scorpion, black cat… basically Spider-Man character who haven’t been on screen yet
hearing about Sentry makes me want to have a limited series about his dilemma similar to Moon Knight
He would do cyclops a much needed justice
*IMAGINE* A Memento esque project abt the Sentry in the MCU sidebar, I didn't know anything about Sentry until this video, save for the Superman pastiche.
Hi Nando. I love the request responses that you do with Marvel so much, that I wanted to give you a real challenge.
This is a lesser known Marvel hero, but I feel like they could be explored in a way that makes them boom. This hero is Night Thrasher.
Please, *PLEASE*, do a casting video for NT, not only for the sake of making videos, but to give this lesser known hero a spotlight.
It still amazes me that Ant-Man (2015) is getting it's 3rd movie and DC is struggling to confirm or make a decision to make man of steel 2
Just started the video! I like Henry for beast! I hope it makes your list
I think he'd be excellent as Dr. Doom. The really pretty version that hides his face because of a slight scar
Wonder man is taken so Henry as Captain Britain confirmed
I really really love Henry Cavill as Captain Britain. British sword man!!! Mustache British sword man! Yes! Also I love love love Betsy Braddock and the whole Psylocke/Betsy identity drama. Since we’ve got Cable and X-23 teased/offered because of the X-Men films, I would LOVE to see the Fallen Angels team. Basically I love Betsy and Brian, and I love Betsy and Psylocke, and I love Brian and the Black Knight, and I love the whole King Arthur and Merlin and stuff. British history folklore magic!
Nando you’re the best
Cyclops. I want him for Cyclops. He would be perfect. He could be the lead in the new faze of the MCU. He has the nice guy leader thing down and can also play conflicted or dark. Put a visor on him and he is Cyclops.
My dream fancast for Sentry is Aaron Paul.
that one eye cyclops pun was 11/10. bravo.
The Hyperion part was truly another peak example of "Comics Are Weird". Great video though
I really really really hoped at the start of this video that one of your picks would be Wonder Man, so I'm delighted! Cavill is perfect for the role. It draws on many of the strengths that made him a great Superman, without it being a Superman clone.
I think now after Henry Cavill been kicked out of the DCEU, this video will come in handy for several roles for him.
I mean, Captain Britain is SO PERFECT for him.
I really want henry to be a villain honestly, i think he'd be amazing at it
Gladiator, Sentry, and Hyperion were the obvious picks, but I like Mr. Sinister of Nando's picks. One that wasn't mentioned is Doc Samson for Cavill.
Okay, was not expecting this video but I am here for it. Excellent summation of Henry Cavill, too. As I usually try to do for these casting videos, I'll try to respond in real time (pausing the video from time to time so my typing can catch up) - that means I'm not comparing the early choices to the later ones, but may do vice-versa. Eager to see how this goes.
-Gladiator? Fantastic choice. I've been reading X-Men comics of the last couple decades (basically the main parts post M-Day) and he's been a fun presence at times, whether as Emperor of the Shiar or merely back in his role as praetor to Xandra. It is a solid casting for the reasons specified, and I could certainly envision Cavill in the role, able to take it in whichever direction he thinks would work (stoic, haughty, whatever)
-Cyclops? I agree that he could definitely pull it off and wouldn't complain (too much) if he were cast in the role, but there are better fits (for Cavill and for Cyclops). Reasonable to at least mention, though.
-Mr. Sinister? Not one I'd expect, but another I'm pretty sure he could pull off. It's another role that has a broad range of ways it could be played, personality-wise - while the past casting video noted his more campy aspects (especially prevalent in more modern depictions), he definitely can be a more serious, calculating presence. Though I often think of Sinister as more lean than Cavill, it's far from a deal-breaker, particularly as (at least modern) Sinister's done tinkering with his look to be more bulked or more lithe, all depending on what he wants or thinks he needs at the time, etc. I would certainly be interested to see this casting, though it's not one I'm going to push for - again, I think there are roles that'd be a better fit for Cavill. I definitely am hoping for Sinister soon either way, as I really have enjoyed him post-House of X.
-Sentry feels like a lazy/easy choice due to Cavill's history as Superman, but that doesn't mean I hate the idea. He's certainly not a character I've enjoyed or appreciated in anything I've read (admittedly, he's mainly popped up as a manipulated weapon in what I've seen, even if I know he can be more), but I concede that an interesting story could work. I'm sold a little more on the casting (mainly because I only know Sentry in that form or Void form, not really any of his "Bob" life), but I agree that it's not the best.
-Ares? Yeah, that's a great choice. I agree that he'd've made a really great Hercules, but Cavill could make a great Ares, too. Whether they want to make him a straight villain or more an anti-hero, it is certainly a role that Cavill can pull off. I think I remember him best from some kind of Dark Avengers era comic in which he trains a special unit his way (I think they all die) and from a tie-in to the War of the Realms (I believe he was trying to find his son or something), but he's an interesting character with a wealth of appearances I simply do not know. I agree that it isn't a likely casting choice, but I would be rather interested to see it.
-Hyperion's another character I just don't know that well. I've definitely seen him appear in at least a couple things but not su- oh, wait, I probably remember Hyperion best from the Heroes Reborn version. Like with Sentry, it feels a little lazy or too easy given Cavill's history as Superman, but it makes sense for that reason. I am not really interested in seeing Cavill in the role (or seeing Hyperion at all), but I think Cavill may be the best person to elevate that role, even if it's not the best choice for Cavill's skills.
-Brian Braddock? Strong choice, really enjoy it. While I have vague memories of reading Excalibur, it's definitely his recent portrayal in the post-House of X world that's sticking in my mind, as that's what I've been reading most recently. While I think of Brian as a blond, I see no reason why that has to be true. It'd also allow Cavill to play a few different versions of himself in the Captain Britain Corps. It would require very careful casting of Betsy and (again, I'm thinking recent runs), Jamie, but this is one I'd be really eager to see. It may not be the best use of Cavill's talents, but it would certainly be an excellent one. Consider me sold, though I am interested to see this. Would enjoy some kind of Excalibur run (whether it's the Rachel Summers/Kitty Pryde/Nightcrawler/Meggan version or the new one involving Betsy, Gambit, Rogue, Rictor, and Jubilee). Didn't know he'd expressed interest in the role, that definitely boosts my support for it.
-Wonder Man? Simon's an interesting choice. I think he'd be able to pull it off handily, but I'm not as interested in seeing it. Maybe it's just because I don't care that much about Wonder Man (I know he can be fun and has some interesting stories), he's just never interested me that much. Personally, I'm more in favour of Cavill as Captain Britain, but I'd still watch Cavill as Simon. I think Fillion was a great casting choice, but agree he probably isn't really up for an intensive run in the role. I like the storylines outlined, but I don't think it's the perfect casting (I had the same issue with the Keanu vid, too, so I'm not surprised)
SUDDEN RELEVANCY BOOST GOOOOO!
Sudden relevancy boost again?
henry cavill needs to play a villain. cause there is a meme that says the best dc heroes play the best dc villains.
michale keatons vulture and batman, ryan renolds' deadpool and green lantern, and more.
I would like to see him play as Mr Sinister for the X-Men Franchise
Not MCU, but I really want to see him as Bond. He was great as that type of character in the Man from Uncle and I think he could play a great cross between the smarminess of Brosnan's Bond and the physicality of Craig's.
"Not MCU, but I really want to see him as Bond." Totally agree! He would have made a great James Bond, but I really doubt the franchise will go that way ... sadly. We probably will get a much more feminine version of James Bond. 😖
@@Age_of_Apocalypse I hope not 😬I feel bad for Cavill though - he's shown his passion for and skill at playing Superman but it feels like he keeps getting stuck with bad movies (aside from MI6, that was 🔥🔥🔥)
@@christopherbucher7017 I'm probably in a the minority, but I wanted another Superman and Justice League movies made by ... Zack Snyder. The only interesting things made in the DC universe have been made by him and I'm including the first Wonder Woman with which he was associated.
The problem of Zack Snyder movies is that they are way too complicated for the modern audience who needs action sequences every five(5) minutes to avoid falling asleep.
His Justice League was simpler and well received by a lot of people.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is wonder man now. So, Hyperion?
I think if sentry DID come back it would be like “the fantastic four doesn’t remember me” instead of “nobody remembers me” but in a way where it’s like he only teamed up with the fantastic four
I loved that opening for Cyclops.
I think Henry should be Reed Richards or Scott Summers, love the video man hope you have a great day.
They should bring him in and just have him play an absolute jabroni. Like Hydra Bob. Or if Marvel had a Dan type dude from Street Fighter.
you sold me for sure
i'm really into the last two options! Henry Cavill has a larger range than people give him credit for. doesn't hurt that I love those characters and love/have a huge crush on Henry Cavill lol.
It's funny I was just thinking how funny it would be, everybody expecting a Superman type and Cavill getting cast as Sinister, when you actually proposed Sinister.
I wouldn't count ZSJL as a whole other time Henry put on the suit, because he literally didn't. They just used footage of his third time in the suit they already had.

Oh, how the pieces have fallen into place.
An hour of nando talking about Henry caville. I love it!
Before you mentioned anyone I had already thought in my mind cyclops
The Hyperion who is a truck driver is my favorite. It's such a cool idea for a civilian identity.
just talking about all these sick heroes makes me want to see them all in the mcu very bad. Need Hyperion and Braddock
Ohhhhh it was the check... I knew that she hulk video was a lil outlandish
I would love for Henry’s Hyperion to be introduced into the MCU as a mixture of Earth-712, Avenger Hyperion and Supreme Power Hyperion. His introduction could be in a live action series of 26 episodes over two seasons with season one being similar to both Supreme Power and Earth-712 and with a movie in between the two seasons being a meeting into Secret Wars and season two being Supreme Power and Avengers Hyperion’s origin so that he can be inserted into whatever new Avengers team shows up. 36:02 Supreme Power would be the main inspiration since the MCU is mainly based on Ultimate Marvel with a bit of main 616 mixed in there.
If Cavill joins the MCU he will be the new Chris Evan's, and I mean that very much so as a compliment
Nando discovering his own humor and then perfecting it is my fvaorite thing of this channel's evolution
talking about henry cavil 😍 for an hour i’m in
