I have been following you from the moment I woke up to the stop motion restore of the Range Rover. In the middle of the night I have been watching that piece of art blown away by the beauty of the story you tell with it, the tonality in both color and framing, and the sheer magnitude of that work. Now, several months and beautifully honest narrations later, I find myself here at yet another project, for you over a year ago, of to me one of the most iconic Mercs. Again I am amazed by the love you have for the learning process, its value it has for you including all the pitfalls, trials and errors and how to overcome those. But most of all how generously you share the intricate details of that learning curve so others can pick up on those to help them move forward. For me, not even being a mechanic, that value is not in the literal sense but equally importantly in the willingness to accept the lesson gracefully, even in hindsight, instead of internalizing it as defeat. Such a valuable lesson, which I really viscerally experience watching your beautiful so well crafted videos.
I don't have the financial means to subscribe to your Patreon page, but I offer you my time and dedication by commenting as honestly as possible by letting you and my (future) fellow Soup admirers know what the value is I take away from your art pieces, both cars and videos, knowing YT traffic in both comments and likes help you stay afloat. Thanks so much for sharing your passion!

Wonderful to watch, so I took a deep breath and raised my w126. No rust, 1983, no rust except the original intact exhaust which was light surface rust. An Atlanta, US, second owner automobile apparently never taken out in the winter. I have changed out the rubber parts and bilsteins, but every bolt removed went straight back in. New hoses, new filters, new brakes rotors and bulbs. She is just an old lady never taken to the ball.

As you have worked on this W123, I have had a growing appreciation for your efforts to keep this car on the road. Most, especially here in the US, just become scrap at this stage and beyond. While not a terribly desirable or rare car, it is built with quality unlike anything today and that makes it special. Thanks for your continued efforts and always excellent production George!

I like to say that any day that has welding in it, is a good day! Thank you so much for your work on this video!...Just the shot in the arm I needed to do the same thing to my 1984 Mercedes 280TE, a grey-market car here in the States! Mine sat in the dry heat of New Mexico for seven years and the only rust is showing in this area. Per your comment about poor oiling of the top end, I am working on engineering a solution. If you are interested in any NLA AMG style spoilers for this car, there is a wonderful craftsman in Kazakhstan who makes a complete assortment: front, rear (lower and rare TE tailgate upper) and side skirts and they are superbly made and available thru eBay. My complete set, with shipping to the U.S. was $600USD. Also, we have similar tastes, the previous car I owned for 14 years was a 1994 LWB Range Rover.

I am in awe of your dedication considering that so much of your work is outside. I live nearby in Ireland and I have some trivial jobs to do on my cars and I’m putting it off till the warmer weather. The W123 is often described as the last “real” Mercedes, it’s the little details and the amount of thought that went into the design. It’s great to see yours taking shape.

Just stumbled on to the channel, what a find !! Great time-laps video and editing, interesting subject ( who knew watching someone do patchwork welding on old cars would keep your interest for more than 5 min) All I have to do now is explain to my wife why the bathroom renovation I am supposed to be doing has ground to a halt. Keep up the awesome work.
