It's definitely NOT on Stanton. He did everything you could ask for in this postseason.
Cashman never brought in a lockdown closer, relied too heavily on re threads in the bullpen except for Weaver who was outstanding and never acquired a solid contact hitter like an Edman.
The fundamentals were never enforced on this team. Boone and his coaching staff are responsible for nor addressing the sloppy play which came back to bite them.
Then you were going into the playoffs with Rizzo with 2 broken fingers, a second baseman playing third, a catcher who ran out of gas in the end, no lockdown closer although Weaver filled that role admirably but it took its toll in the end. The starting rotation left a lot to be desired. I'll leave it at that.

@steven7297 you must not have played ball or if so not at a high level. No offense but every ex player, every analitic person and Gerrit Cole himself after the game said that is on him, rizzo has to field the ball first, when you try to do things before you field the ball you look like judge, no every other firstbaseman makes that flip to their pitcher. Freeman made several in this series, it's a basic play. Played first and pitched in college, the pitcher MUST be there. Cole said he charged the ball thinking he was going to field it but it was to hard hit, and then he took no path to first and stood there and froze, it happens but in no way did rizzo do anything wrong

Boone made some bad calls in game 1: taking out Cole too soon, & putting in Nestor instead of Hill.
Then in 5 he should of of kept Holmes in the game longer, & used less of Kahnle in that inning, then brought in Weaver sooner before the bases were loaded.

Juan Soto has made it clear to his agent that he wishes to move on from the Yankees given that they are an aging team that is on their way down. All the top stars are in their mid 30´s and have peaked in their careers. He expressed interest in listening to an offer from the Dodgers.

    • @jessygarci

They weren't superior they only won like 3 more games than the Yankees in the regular season . Their pitchers were better. But they did not shut them out every game was winnable. Yankee just choked big time.

As a dodgers fan, that play was not on Rizzo! As a pitcher you need to be ready to cover the bag and HUSTLE when needed. You need to be running over there until you see with your own eyes that first baseman start running to the bag.

Yankees stinks gave Game 5 with 5 unearned runs as a gift 🎁 to the Dodgers with 3 bone head mistakes from Judge, easy pop-up , Volpe error throw to third base and Rizzo error on first base why didn’t he run to first base to get that out. Yankees shot themselves in their feet.Yankees also gave Game 1 to the Dodgers as gift 🎁 as well. Look at the bright side Yankees are the second best team for 2024 , I think 🤔 the Yankees would’ve lost game 6 or 7 at LA.
