Yankees fan here. unless we have enough to spend on other quality players after Soto, i hope we don’t spend all that money on him.
Me too. let him walk. Yankees need help at 2b, LF, and 1B.
Thats a lot of blind faith in that org right there .
Jays fan here. Apparently the Jays are all in, again, so congrats to the Yanks for re-signing Soto.
They over estimate Yankee fans upset if Soto leaves for stupid money. I like plan B.
Same
you don't need the fancy player to win a championship i rather be well rounded then having a 4 player show because that's what the Yankees were last season it was Soto, G, Judge, Cole.
Really ? The dodgers just bought theirs .
Sorry but if he is more about the money than actually being part of the team and having passion for the sport...thats just being greedy to me honestly.
Giving Soto $600 million is flat out absurd.
I think giving a guy 700 mill after he had 2 tjs in 6 years is just as absurd . But thats baseball now
I don't need fancy anything. I don't want to eat just expensive cookies. Building a team requires more than a fancy name.
who will pay a DH in his late 30s going into his 40s over $40 million no i'll pass we had Soto and lost. we have flaws get better everywhere Soto doesn't solve your infield and outfield issues in left and center etc.
That dh is gonna be judge not soto .
I agree. Would build without Soto
Build with what ? And why should i or anyone else be confident in an org to build anything? This is the same org that has failed to build a fundamentally competent team for 15 years now
Honestly speaking, Juan soto is young and a great player..but he is young . We shouldn't spend all the money on him, I understand he's talented, but there are plenty of talented players just like him or better...I feel like he is just chasing a pay day , and I feel like he's being greedy.
He is young , and he can continue to make money as he continues to play...but to give him one of the biggest pay days ..right now , I don't think it's fair to the Yankees as a unit.
I'll rather have those 3 players, hernandez is very good
This is why I don't talk sports with women.
Not me . Other than walker thats a lousy plan B . Hernandez doesnt come close to soto , and adames s a SS period , never played second or third in the majors . I mean didnt you learn anything from this past ws about playing guys out of position?
@fernandoposada5440 hernandez hit 30 plus HRS and was an allstar just like soto
He still had about half the war soto had and less rbis . Solid player but he doesnt make up what they lose with soto leaving .
@fernandoposada5440 bro war is overrated man if you good you good
It kinda pisses me off when reporters tell us to spend 700 million on one player. This game keeps getting younger. He may only have five top years left and he will clog dh for many years. Better to leave dh spot for resting players. The game is trending towards speed and athleticism.
Newsflash , dh spot is clogged by stanton and then will he clogged by judge .
News flash. He wants 15 years@@fernandoposada5440
No big deal, what is all this fuss about. You couldn’t win with him, let him go.
They won a pennant with him . Thats more than they did without him in the previous 15 years
Soto was a nothing burger in San Diego. He'll get lazy again after he signs
Jerry is right!
He has 1 year left on his contract Tucker close offensively but he great defensively great base running played great in the postseason
Not signing any ex-astro cheater. no thank you
I have no problem with each of these moves if no Soto.Santander is another if no Hernandez.
I think she is looking for chocolates or something.I would take those 3 players over Soto in a heartbeat. What is that, just under 80 home runs between them?Seems like a pretty good trade off.Granted no one is better getting on base than Soto but you have to get him in and Judge alone did not do that in the playoffs.
Why New Yorkers always gotta yell.
Call the Houston try get Tucker we need lefties in there line up
Jesus Christ enough with the clueless women on panels just blabbering jibberish. I mean its beyond an ear-sore with all of them on SNY. The DEI hiring has to stop. Worst thing is they don't even hire good looking ones while you have to listen to them show how they have the MLB IQ of a gnat.
You do realize those 3 players cost more than soto and outside of walker none are anything special or an upgrade, right? Without soto this team will be nothing more than a wc contender .And why get adames when they have 2 to 3 in house options for second and third? And on top of that adames is a ss , he has never pkayed second or third in the majors and only started 8 games at second in his minor league career . Didnt this past ws teach you anything about playing guys out of position?! That is not a goid plan B overall imo
Actually he did good this season , great player but not worth all that money right now.. he needs to continue to grow and show his worth .. giving him all that money right now is just absurd.. and what happens when he gets injured and lazy.
This season? Look at his career man he has had several great seasons already and he is only 26 .
@@fernandoposada5440 he needs to continue developing..he's 26 ..you give him a big pay day right now.. anything can go wrong..him getting hurt or getting lazy..and it has happened plenty times before with other players.
Time for developing?! The prime years of a baseball player are from 26 to 29 or 30 . That us the tine when all players get paid big money . Judge got it at 29 because he took longer to develop . Ohtani got it at 29 because he wasnt in tge majors until 22 and he was already developed at 22. Soto has been in the majors since he was 19 . In comparison Jeter was 25-26 when he got his 10 year deal as well .
@fernandoposada5440 it actually depends on the player themselves and there conditioning that determines there prime years..prime years can extend beyond what you stated
That woman has great taste!
I'm a Yankees fan. Don't anticipate him signing. Just move on. I would really hate seeing him sign with them Dodgers....
