Natalie you would loveee the book/audiobook “Brag Better” by Meredith Fineman, it’s all about learning how to calmly and concisely get comfortable with talking about yourself in a career/business space! It’s so insightful and geared toward women specifically!
It's so crazy because one of the first videos i encountered of you was about your clothing boutique and now i get to see you on another great journey! I'm here for this journey and I am wishing you nothing but success. I am constantly encouraged by how real and motivated you are in all your entrepreneurial pursuits, and i know Rella will be a success
Exactly, he's not your target investor if he doesn't know how BIG influencer marketing is. They'll all see in time, but then it'll be too late 😉 I'm excited for you! I love how business savy you are. You have such a leader's mindset and it's still so early in the game. My mind is blown when I think about who you'll be at 60! Honored to see you develop. I'm an artist and small business owner. I've been reaching out to influencers to wear my silk scarves and have gotten great feedback. I'm curious how this industry will develop for smaller brands. Maybe there could be something in the app for small business owners to connect with micro/nano influencers, just a thought. Keep going Natalie, you're gonna win!💯💘💘
I am so excited for you & this! I also wanted to add that I love the way you tell a story via video & just how you explain certain things. A lot of times I just won’t upload or put anything out bc it’s not “perfect”. But you just reminded me to push past that. Anyway, so excited for you & thank you for sharing your experience.
so excited for this series! could you also share how you found your team? and how you found the potential vc to talk to?? appreciate all the hard work ure putting in to document this natalie!
THANK YOU so much for sharing this and including us in the process. I feel like so many success stories down play all the steps and hard work that goes into building a business so I’m so excited to see your journey!
Soooo crazy to me that the investor didn’t see the value in influencer marketing. I understand some people just don’t know enough about it but the stats are there! I’m an influencer myself but I also run a marketing agency. One of my clients (who is a small-medium sized business) received an organic, unsponsored story mention from an influencer with 1.1M followers last week & made thousands of $$$ in sales just from that ONE MENTION. The industry is so present within the modern world and its value is so clear! I’m excited for the app!
I completely agree. I also think a lot of people have tried in the influencer space and have failed so it’s a little more risky because it is newer? Either way, there will always be people who don’t think an idea is worth it and that’s okay!
Love the idea really. It took me a while to understand what makes it different from other planning tools. I am creating a tool that solves that planning challenge too but in a different way. Well done Natalie, I am really happy to see others building this as I am doing this too.
Do it! :) I would just advise against starting a business for the sake of starting a business. Though, I’m sure you have some great ideas, so I trust you’ll create something cool!
YESSSS Natalie!!! I am so proud of you!! This is such a great idea and if I had millions I would invest!! If you ever make the app become a public entity I will definitely invest!! Every penny counts lol. But seriously this video was so awesome! Can’t wait to see more from this series! I’m so proud of you, this will be life changing for you all your blessing are coming ♥️♥️
Hey Natalie! This is such an amazing video. A little tip for pitching Rella, include the size of the business opportunity in money, basically how much money the influencer marketing moves a year so that they can see what they would be getting into. Could also be the amount of transactions a year or something like that
you're the big sister i never had 😭 feeling really grateful that you're taking us in this journey with you and helping us handle money and all this adult stuff!! 💛
I binged the entire Startup Podcast series in the beginning of 2020, and I really enjoyed how transparent Gimlet was about their experience all the way from their first pitch to being acquired by Spotify! It's really helped me with my own startup, especially with pitching myself and my company and learning to accept that sometimes people won't see your vision but there's always something to be learned from those conversations. Super excited for this series and to see your company's journey!

I’m obsessed with this vlog!! Also, regarding equity, is that something you have to decide legally as well? Meaning when you register the company as a corporation, do you have to put in the application each co-founders % of equity? I would love to hear more about the legal side of the process, like filing for the trademark of Rella or anything like that!
I can't wait to hear you on How I Built This some day! You're incredible. I was curious about how you founded your team...hate to be that person but my first thought seeing the team was the lack of ethnic diversity. Did this come up for you or was your app not in a stage to prioritize it?
This is our founding team but not entire team. We were introduced through friends and them 3 had already been working together so I was an addition. but in our company culture (Rella) we are 100% looking to create a diverse team. This is only founding members, we will be needing to hire and build it out. It would be an absolute DREAM to one day be on how I built this 🥲 thank you so much!!
when pitching to investors, did you pitch them a fully already-made app or are you pitching them a mock up/prototype of the app? or are you pitching them a concept? sorry for all the q's i've just always wondered how people pitch app ideas!
Hi Natalie :) thank you for letting us be part of the journey. I remember you had Sarah Wang on your podcast and she brought up the intonation at the end of the sentence while pitching, maybe it would help you to practice that since it sounds more confident and professional

It might be performance anxiety. Like not thinking you’re good enough or well prepared enough although you know you are both. The feeling is there anyway. I get that too.
hey natalie! I was checking out your website and wanted to let you know that the logo is too light to be seen on mobile browser (maybe it’s just me). regardless, I think the work you’re doing is super interesting. and if you’re ever looking for interns, I’d be VERY interested
