Thank you for the content, I am new to the game because of you. I just completed the story mode and started survival mode. Thanks to the time you take to educate players I believe I am on my way to my first of many 500 days. I love the slow pace of the game it suits my age.. I am a father and grand father.. That is... not what I expected that bear and that fire to do. 😂
It’s the mechanics of the game. Even dead animals are standing when they are out of your area. If you enter the area the game lay then down… in this case, the bear was standing, the fire fell down of the bear and then the game lay down the bear on top of the fire.
At desolation point myself in my survival run. Went to kill scruffy and when he died, he didn’t lay down. He just continued to be animated and standing up but I could harvest from him. Wish I could share my video clip where I’m cooking him while he’s standing right next to me. Also now makes me wish I could have a companion wolf in this game.
Katie's corner is a hidden gem on lower levels. Most likely place to find a BOW and at least one arrow (usually a broken arrow too!)
I've been wanting to buy the coffee mug for a couple years. Even went to the company that makes them for hinterland!

Me too! I have 7k points on her twitch chanel so it's fair to say I've become quite a regular, her energy is truly unmatched and noone will be so calm and cheerful while stumbling with a pot in their hand and 5% health, also the tea cup streams were golden

Lil tip for everybody: If you use "hide" button to turn off the lantern you can keep walking during the extinguish animation.
That water trick is INSANE. I used to do it but never knew how strong it was.
I was recently inspired to take my own journey to five hundred days, and I thank you for giving me such a great idea to try and also a great series to watch in my spare time. ❤
Beachcombing is definitely broken on lower difs, fewer than a dozen passes in DP, CH, CH and I got dozens of arrows, rare clothes, at least 8 flare shells... haven't found any coffee or tea, but the containers that wash up seem to follow their regular loot tables so I'm guessing it's possible
Very true, just went back to DP yesterday, a quick walk along the ice sheet netted me no less than 4 arrows, 3 broken arrows, clothing, and over 40lbs of fish...

1:07:10 Yes, you can safely traverse this tree but unfortunately it doesn't take you all the way across, it goes down to the left of the truck and you still have to walk around to get to the exit. Still a minor time save and quite funny. Iit's an ok view of the lighthouse up there(this is actually the location I chose to stand for the intro to my shortcuts vid.)
I was in Molton for quiye a while and never had an Aurora, then I repaired the tower, even though I don't have the radio yet, and finally got an Aurora 2 nights in a row! I didn't make the connection though until you mentioned it. So, yeah, I think it's consistent.

@14:34 I agree with you and I have been on that theory since The Blackrock map and episode 4. DP, like broken railroad, feels like an underutilized area and with another connecting region then it can have a purpose imo

But if you partially repair the tower and simply don’t switch it on, then there is no aurora, and you don’t have to carry all those transistors and wires around.
For the water trick of boiling a tiny amount of water: It's not much... but it might just be enough.

If you run into a shore fish, can you just change its location to prevent it despawning during a blizzard? Or does it just despawn everything in the wave zone? Might be worth dropping some sticks to test that.

23:54 What determines the in game music? Does it have something to do with weather changes, for example, or is it just random?
I think it is mostly random, but some music is triggered by certain events. Things like wolf aggro, entering a cave, dawn and sunset..
I don’t think some sticks and spray cans are too much. I think beachcombing is fair because on interloper most things are empty anyways. I think you eat all that rotten food is a bigger problem and yet I still don’t think that’s a problem
Since you mentioned Tomasina surviving after hitting 1% condition, what do you think of the (new?) animation when you reach low condition? Makes it really hard to navigate and get to safety, for example when you are near a door or cave entrance.

@@Zaknafein Maybe it's not even that new, I just started playing again.
But the last time I reached low condition I was stumbling around like crazy, Astrid basically went all over the place as if she was drunk. That made it very hard to get to safety before the condition dropped to zero.
I don't like Twitch/Live streams because games like this obviously deserve a person's full attention. I like prime gameplay
The notes haven't been working on Xbox since one of the recent updates. Still not fixed. So I'm gonna have to just remember 😅
Beachcombing is still not worth it on Interloper. All I have found so far is some wood and an empty locker in Bleak Inlet. Not worth the Timberwolves
I would say beach combing is woefully overpowered on interloper with too much loot. Not worth it in Bleak Inlet, no, but there are 3 timberwolf-free zones.

Question, Why do you not pick mushrooms and rose hips anymore?
They dont have much use anymore, outside of warmth. So I leave them in a kind of storage way, to pick up later when needed. I try to always have a few teas in every base, though.
Thanks for another fine episode, Zak. If fire-hardened arrows are no good against wolves, what are they good for at all?! Against rabbits to level archery?
Rabbits, leveling archery, and scaring off wolves from a distance without wasting arrowheads or saplings (both sticks and feathers are renewable).
i come from the future and fire-hardened arrow can be good against the new white bird added in the part 3 of the dlc updated (if you have the dlc) also the new cooking system is fire we can finally be a 5-start chef in the quiet apocalypse

Hi everyone. Do some know if it possible to get an achievement "Skilled survivor" on Interloper?
No one has managed, as far as I know, since revolver and rifle can only be leveled with books. I got them to about 4 1/2 in my old run.
I dont think its possible unless you do a custom gunloper.
iv been watching neebs gaming play this and they have been hilarious, also splitsie has started this as well he started on interloper died pretty quick, but hes now on voyager and seems to be getting to grips with it. but as well all know, death is just around the corner.

I use the note taking skill for Fallout 4,
But once i hit a bug with The Brotherhood of Steel questline, i stopped taking notes...
Bethesda games are aweful for bugs with questlines and certain scripts, and on console... you have no options to fix it.
i dislike Twitch for the company, not the users.. One streamer banned me for no reason, i went back on my xbox to ask why and i was permabanned on both accounts.. I only had the second one because the email was locked to the xbone so why not use it to find out why.. apparently ban evasion is worse of an offence than admin abuse. I emailed them like 4 years later and they stand by their decision but reactivated my accounts, like seriously, i don't want any part of that shite.. saying fuck or bugger can get you executed without any recourse..

Anyone else playing on Xbox console that's not able to add notes? I can't add notes to the days nor can I add general notes. When I hit the button to edit notes basically nothing happens.
Its a bug that hasnt been fixed yet
@@Zaknafein I mean surely can't be that hard to make the notes work? I have a full-time programmer in my storm shelter business and I'm sure we can fix it in about 12 minutes. Not trying to complain just saying it's kind of an important part of the game you know.

huh.....I don't quite understand what happened with when you stole the rabbit carcass from the wolf in DP. you seemed to KNOW it was going to get scared off. but i thought most wolves needed campfire, or torch plus ranged attack drawn....could you explain what you did? you usually do. i love the depth of your knowledge of this game.
other question is, if fish gives you lamp oil...then wouldn't you collect the fish to keep your storm lanterns fueld in the long term? [I mean, yeah, when there was an opportunity, you did, but I dont think you really intended to? or...was it kind of you did, but only IF there was a clear opportunity of convenience? would those washed up fish ever despawn? I guess not, so you were in no rush to process them.
When a wolf takes down a rabbit or deer, you can walk up to it and chase it off even without fire. It's very different when the wolf wants to eat you.
When wolves feed, you dont need fire for the aim trick.
Fish is too heavy to casually loot so I prefer getting oil from fishing :)
@@Zaknafein ahh, so a single fish here and there not worth, you'd rather make a dedicated icefishing expedition, and load up. okay, that was one of my larger guesses. interesting that wolves are easier to scare off from a kill, than an attack...huh.
HELP!!! I'm playing stalker on Xbox. NO HAMMER AT HRV SIGNAL FIRE (got a moose satchel tho). No hammer in MT, but I've got 4 f**king prybar. WHHHYYYY GAME? Anyone know hammer spawns in ML. I know the hammer can spawn at the forge but I'm off to ML next. MT, ML, HRV, FM are only regions I know. And all my friends think I'm weird for calling rabbits Barry. I hate you for that, but i wouldn't last 5 mins without your videos. Cheers mate
Hehe, Barry. The hammer at HRV is for interloper only, I believe. For lower difficulties there are fewer fixed spawns. I recommend just checking every tool box, forge and also Summit on Stalker.
