- Dan Jackson AKA Dans the Engineer, David Watts AKA Sparky Ninja, John Ward JW and Paul Meenan Founder of the E5 Group host a webinar on Coding Fire Alarm Systems. This is recorded interactive presentation to a group of electricians and fire alarm engineers who input live to discuss how to code during a fire alarm inspection and test maintenance. Similar to coding electrical condition reports.
Our good friend Paul Skyrme is unfortunately fighting aggressive prostate cancer and a Just Giving page has been created to help raise some funds to help him and his family. Paul has given so much to the electrical industry and is a fantastic electrical engineer. If you have a spare few quid, it would help so much www.justgiving.com/crowdfundi....

I 100 percent agree with you Dan, that call point is on the same trunking as the previous picture.
Dan I just wanted to say I really look up to you ever since I started secondary school I have always aspired to be an Electrician due to the fact that I have a deep interest in the trade. People tell me that you can’t reap many rewards from being an electrician but since I heard your story on LinkedIn it has motivated me even more that I want to strive to be the best electrician I can be
That's great to hear. Thanks for the comment. It is a hard game but it certainly have many amazing rewards. Completing an apprenticeship or course is just the start but a career can divert into many different areas. There are fantastic opportunities.
Thank you for the excellent webinar. Learnt a lot.
Glad to hear it Philip 💪👍
+1 for the Part 6 webinar
Great video keep up with good work and have awesome day
!
Thanks. And you 👍
Could you do a video with regards to pricing for servicing contracts, call outs etc? As this type of work and level of responsibility that comes with it don’t seem to be reflected in the low rates I hear customers quoting. 👌
Are you going to upload Aigan
Hi can i ask, why the fire alarm has “general fault” and “sounder status” light on? I have try to push button green reset but those light still on
There is a fault on the system. You'll have to consult your maintainer.
It’s interesting that no one mentioned the Fire Emergency and security systems apprenticeship and the changes to the ECS card that will restrict who can work on these systems.
Does the electrical ECS card currently restrict who works on electrical systems?
@@DanstheEngineer I know that in reality anyone could work on these systems, it’s more about who sings it off. But I think it’s a good start to put these checks in place. I have already heard of clients that require the new Gold ECS card for fire alarm companies to work on their sites.
Hey mate, subscribed this evening, loving the vids. Unrelated to the video but just a heads up (can't send private messages on RUclips anymore) that I tried to view your website just now and got redirected three times to dodgy / scammy sites. I've just tried again and it's working fine now, so I don't know for sure if it's at your end or mine, but maybe worth looking into anyways I dont know how these things work.
Hey. Thanks for the heads up. I'll take a look.
@@DanstheEngineer it happened to me too
@@yeety1208 thanks for letting me know guys
