- Bran Castle is situated in Transilvania, Romania and is the castle associated with the legends of Dracula and Vlad The Impaler. This video shows how to get there and other things you will need to know before visiting.

Hi Eddie wonderful video you are really enjoying yourself. When I was there in 95 there was no one much around. The town was a ski town and did not have many tourist in the summer. We had the castle to ourselves for the whole day. I think I like the way it is now. Maybe I will get a chance to come back again someday. Larry

Another extremely well-done travel video, Eddy. I'm so glad I watched this one: it was well worth sinking my teeth into. :) Why doesn’t Dracula have any friends? Because he’s a pain in the neck. When I did the summer camp in bran a few years back..... The castle was the weekly trip for the kids....in the end we got bored of it but glad you enjoyed it.... P.s about 3/4 of a mile from there is the bran village museum mate

Ed, I think everyone thought that Transylvania would be a bleak forest clad area of Romania but the area is very beautiful and resembles baveria
so much and it was great to see the castle, worth the trip alone - stay safe and enjoy the rest of your stay. See you in Pattaya at the end of November ,

Really enjoyed your video Eddie, but i've read that Bram Stoker took his inspiration for Dracula from seeing the ruins of Whitby Abbey through the mist when he stayed in whitby, Yorkshire in 1890, apparently he was working on a story set in Styria, Austria and was reading a book by William Wilkinson (about a British Consul in Wallachia and Moldavia - now in Romania) who mentioned a 15th century Prince called Vlad Tepes (vlad the impaler) he was said to have his enemies impaled on wooden stakes - he was also known as Dracula which is Wallachian for devil, Stokers book was published in 1897.

Great vlog Eddie, I like your enthusiasm, those steps reminded me recently getting off at Hampstead tube station in London, the lifts had just broken down, had to climb 326 steps, it’s London’s deepest Tube station 😩

Great video! When they restored the castle I wonder why didn't they utilize the same building materials as the original castle. Half of it looks old like the stone stairs and half looks looks like an Italian villa. Also when you say something cost 8 pounds tell us in the Colonies pounds of what, apples? 😄

At work so not views yet , myself and wife are visiting Romania next shortly but looking at these videos brasov may suit us more that Bucharest as we’re in our 50s , anyone can reply and give an opinion thanks
I'm in Sibiu right now and it is stunning.
Hi Watford FC, Brasov is definitely a better choice, Bucharest is ok but it's not the best city ever, Cluj is a far better and more beautiful city to spend time in. The night life on Bucharest can be very very loud and a lot of well oiled people about where as Brasov is far more chilled.
If you are short on time go straight to Brasov or other places like Sibiu, Sovata, Piatra Neamt, Iasi, just to name a few. If you do have a long stay then you should give Bucharest at least 2 days, one for visiting the most important landmarks and one to go to Therme Bucharest- The biggest wellness, relaxation and entertainment center in Europe. You’ve never seen anything like it before i promise.
Romania is the size of Great Britan , you can't really experience it in one town.
If you want to see the majority of it it will take 3 months.
You need to ask yourself what do you want to do , city-brake , nature , history, culture , beach, quiet place or hustle and bustle
Some places are overrated some are hidden gems some are run down others are flashy some are worth your time others aren't
