  • In this video, I explained why small engines like the Kohler 7000 and many others need some special oil. Just like classic cars, diesel engines, and various other types of vehicles, different engines different oil.
The easiest to find filter for this application would be 51348 from wicks, which is slightly larger and therefore increases your oil capacity a little bit. Racing/classic car oil like the vr1 from Valvoline featured in the video or penngrade green oil from Brad Penn works great!

Yea! It’s just a shame though that the zinc has had to be taken out of modern oils. Even the best oil doesn’t have much. Critical that old stuff (classic cars) e run on the high zinc special oils like the stuff in this video. I’ve considered running Rotella T6 diesel oil in my tundra’s gas motor just for extra protection cause it’s always working so hard

How do you change the oil. I’m struggling with mine.

There is a nut in the end of a hose. A larger wrench to hold it, a smaller wrench to take the drain plug out.
