Btw if it helps with discoverability this video popped up in my recommendations probably because the short about the rematch popped up in my feed first and I've been watching a lot of 40K shorts and longform (like luetin and others) stuff.
Ever since I added the new Rogal Dorn tank to my Brood Brother detachment for my Genestealers army, I’ve been tempted to start an Astra Militarum army (I already had 3 Leman Russ tanks for same). Seeing this match with both the RD and LR tanks in action has made it even more tempting, and frustrating, because I can’t use both tanks in a single Auxiliary Support detachment. On the flip side, the World Eaters army looks awesome too. This is what GW does to us!
I've never noticed their use of 3d printed proxies before this video (if they've even used them?) until I saw some of the exact same Valour Korps guard proxies that I use myself xD Really love how they painted that walker tank and I'm definitely gonna take inspiration for my own
That was awesome! Both of these armies got to do exactly what they’re good at, and neither walked unopposed over the other. Exactly what you want to see in a game!!!
I’ll admit. I don’t quite understand how to play the game. Still pretty new to the hobby, but this channel has me exited to learn more! Great work and production value.
The only sign that people say that shows Angron killed Yarrick is the skull on his belt with the bionic eye. BUT, that skull has three service studs above it's other eye and is physically larger than the skull next to it, clearly showing that it's a space marine skull and can't be Yarrick's.
With Kasrkin got to pop the other strat to make your 5+ to hit also count for born soliders, and maybe even give them full rerolls use the lord solar. Otherwise they don't do too much damage as a bomb. I know nick probably got recommendations on this later on, but want to throw in this.

For sure. But the first turn angron charge should have made it as he has fly and therefore didn’t fail that 7” charge over the crater…! Then no fall back..

What a fun game mechanically and narratively. The Militarum barely defeating the wave of Chaos and Angron but losing almost their entire army in the process is about as lore accurate as you can get lmao
Rip Angron not getting that 7" charge in because he has the fly keyword to ignore the difficult terrain would have been a big swing for the World Eater.
Actually the rule specifically notes that units that fly ignore it. "If a unit makes a Normal Move, Advances, Falls Back or makes Charge Move and any of it’s models wish to move over any part of this terrain feature, subtract 2″ from the maximum distance that every model in that unit can move (to a minimum of 0″), even if every part of this terrain feature is 1″ or less in height. This penalty does not apply if every model in the moving unit can FLY."
What an awesome battle! i thought it was going to be pretty one sided with how OP Angron is but it ended up being an absolute knuckle dragger for both.... loved it! Guard for the win! Also..... Nick and Mubin you guys are so damn entertaining, keep it up !
I don’t think he is op. He’s a one trick pony and you have to give up a lot of army wide buffs just to keep him on the board. I feel like against horde armies this will be ok but against like custodies and knights it’s going to be ugly for world eaters
For Nick, the last layer that really squeezes every mortal wound out of the Kasrkin bomb is full rerolls to hit and wound from the Lord Solar. Without those full rerolls to hit and wound, the dice odds never seem to be in their favor, lol. Great game!
Does Angron have the "Monster" keyword? Would be weird if not but if he does, doesn't that mean he ignores terrain movement modifiers? So you wouldn't need to add 2 inches to moving on/through that terrain? Also, Angron has the fly keyword so the penalty would matter anyway. This is the second batrep i've watched (first was a different channel) where basic WE rules have been missed and where it has really affected the game.
kinda correct for once, despite your lack of lore knowledge and cowardly ways. still owe me that game of 40k to have me table your army turn 2. but good to see you around
I was pretty sceptic about the blood tythe points mechanic, but it actually looks pretty fun. It's quite thematic, unique, doesn't look that frustrating actually and most of all seems to be a perfect mechanic to counterbalance the weaknesses of an all melee army
As someone new to 40k tabletop, can PlayOn make beginner primers for each army? Specifically, from a birds-eye-view how are the armies mechanically different? What's the difference between the Marines on a macro level?
@Amonkira also, they used the lord invocatus WLT (the one with the pre-game move), which is also illegal, as there's only one wlt and one relic, and the wlt goes on Angron, I think
@@crackpotmike 9th is complicated, and in short FLY doesn't matter when it comes to vertical terrain on charges. If a unit’s datasheet has the FLY keyword, then when it makes a charge move, its models can be moved across other models (and their bases) as if they were not there, but they must move over terrain features (including BUILDING units) like any other model. A model that can FLY cannot finish any move on top of another model. Look at it this way. Mubin made an extreme risk with Angron yeeting him up the board t1. He could have played with the reserve shenanigans, but the way Mubin's list was oriented was literally "I yeet Angron across the board, and I nail my first charge roll turn 1 and immediately win, or I miss it and probably lose." If Mubin's angron chuck was a legit top tier strategy, I wouldn't be playing this game anymore.
Pretty compelling victory for the Imperial Guard honestly. Angron should have made that turn one charge however-if he had this probably would have been unrecoverable for the Guard since Angron was denying fall-back. That aside, that was supremely well played by Nick to contain the WE
Woah, that was Wild. HOW DARE YOU NOT HAVE MWG DAVE PLAY THE NEW WORLD EATERS? Great Game. Super tight, love those Bullgrin converts, seeing them as Kreigsman was pretty cool. Oh, and Nick Sure as Hell better keep his word to the Emperor and start calling Tau Fish.

A very basic mistake, honestly you'd think they'd know better
yeah, it made the game more fun to watch rather than "angron murders everyone in 2 turns using pile in"
I'd like it a lot of you guys put out some titanicus content. Great video!
does Angron not have the fly key word? Otherwise wouldn't he have made that charge cause he'd ignore the difficult ground?
Now I need Angron vs Ghaz on this channel. This was fun.
Angron ignore modifiers to movement…
kinda correct for once, despite your lack of lore knowledge and cowardly ways.
still owe me that game of 40k to have me table your army turn 2. but good to see you around
Good work Guard Nick. I hope you continue to represent humanity!
I was pretty sceptic about the blood tythe points mechanic, but it actually looks pretty fun. It's quite thematic, unique, doesn't look that frustrating actually and most of all seems to be a perfect mechanic to counterbalance the weaknesses of an all melee army
So, seems like Tau Nick is forever Guard Nick after that promise. Welcome to the Guard, Nick!
As someone new to 40k tabletop, can PlayOn make beginner primers for each army? Specifically, from a birds-eye-view how are the armies mechanically different? What's the difference between the Marines on a macro level?
On it
World Eaters vs White Scars, that would be EPIC!
You should totally do Orks vs world eaters. Ghazghkull needs his revenge for the death of yarrick!
that was lots of fun guys, thanks for the show!
Good video, but Angron has fly, doesn't he ignore terrain for charges?
This is huge. If you're right, he should have been into that line on the first turn
@Amonkira it is true. He should have gone in. It could have turned the game
@Amonkira also, they used the lord invocatus WLT (the one with the pre-game move), which is also illegal, as there's only one wlt and one relic, and the wlt goes on Angron, I think
The emperor really saved nick on the first turn there. THE EMPEROR PROTECTS!
Why did angron need 9"? Doesn't he fly?
That was what I was wondering as well
yea they borked that rule, he would make the charge without the CRR
@ForTehNguyen that would have made quite a difference in how the game played out.
Still a decent batrep though.
@@M3RUL3Z it's in the difficult terrain rules. Fly ignores it.
Pretty compelling victory for the Imperial Guard honestly. Angron should have made that turn one charge however-if he had this probably would have been unrecoverable for the Guard since Angron was denying fall-back.
That aside, that was supremely well played by Nick to contain the WE
This was fun, despite the obvious lack of greenskins in the video. Your content is just a delight to watch every time.
Dakkah Dakkah Dakkah
Woah, that was Wild. HOW DARE YOU NOT HAVE MWG DAVE PLAY THE NEW WORLD EATERS?
Great Game.
Super tight, love those Bullgrin converts, seeing them as Kreigsman was pretty cool.
Oh, and Nick Sure as Hell better keep his word to the Emperor and start calling Tau Fish.
