    Poor Halford he gave it his all and was exhausted by the end. I can only imagine how difficult that song is to sing, but man he nailed it!!😆😆😆

    I still can't believe how powerful Rob's voice suddenly got since 2011. And 2015 he's really on fire, even breaking certain records of his own that he set back in his younger days. The Redeemer of Souls tour might as well be Judas Priest's best tour to date. At least that's my opinion.

      he quit smoking, surgery on the back, he was using a monitor to show the lyrics because he hadn't the time to mesmerize them all due to complications till 2008.

      Eric Wells They are all metal gods, like Dio, Ozzy, Alice Cooper...

    • @TheGamingChapel
      @TheGamingChapel 9 лет назад

      Kantus40 While that is the usual consensus with those artists you listed, granted, they are talented and had their day in the sun, but for me, I do not see them like that at all. While I do enjoy their music, I tend to look at more of the unknown artists, ones that create stuff unlike others and to me, those ones are the true metal, hell, music gods

    • @Kantus40
      @Kantus40 9 лет назад

      You right, they are in the usual consensus, they are the "classics" they build something great, they build the metal, Slowly, they build him, look the career of Ronnie James Dio, at the begining he sing quiet songs, after jazz/rock, and a the end, Heaven and Hell, he changed years after years. They make him stronger and stronger. New artists, musicians are coming, increasing the metal. The olders, the news, they play metal, differents kinds of metal, but this remains the metal. I can feel the rage when i listen "I", I can feel the passion when i listen "poison", i can feel the sadness when i listen "See you on the other side". I can feel that feeling with the news and unknow artists too.

    fucking amazing! He's been doing some serious vocal training since just a few years back, This is the absolute best performance of Painkiller I've seen in the last decade bar none. Halford is hands down the best Metal singer there ever was....He's a true Metal God....I'm proud to be a Priest fan of 36 years now....

  • @KevPezJALP
    @KevPezJALP 6 лет назад +5

    His voice isn't what it used to be, but overall still good. Painkiller I'd imagine is a rough song to sing, especially since he's older. but the song is one of their most popular, they "have" to play it. It's tough, but he's giving it his all.

    • @IASP17
      @IASP17 6 лет назад

      Halford actually said Painkiller is not that hard for him to sing. Victim of Changes is the hardest.

    Oh god, Tipton needs to stop playing his solo here. It's getting ridiculous. Luckely Halford is on fucking fire.

    • @TheGamingChapel
      @TheGamingChapel 9 лет назад

      fleskip He may appear to be on fire, but stage presence is lacking. I know it has to be hard to sing this song still at his age, but hunching over for the track and singing it....come on Rob - you can do better

    • @indianmilitary
      @indianmilitary 9 лет назад +11

      Eric Wells Rob always did that regardless of age. His style of singing. As far as Tipton is concerned, it is foolish to expect studio version of song in a live concert. Moreover after playing solos for years, guitarists try to improvise

    • @fleskip
      @fleskip 9 лет назад +8

      kashsoldier Nope, you're wrong: he is actually trying to play the studio-version, but he just can't pull it off anymore. Ah well, he couldn't sweep pick for shit even in 1990, the whole recording of the solo was just a lucky shot in the studio I guess =p

    • @kranen1
      @kranen1 9 лет назад +1

      +fleskip I've seen him do worse. It's a great solo on the album, and a difficult one to play. Guess it would be a good thing to just rip some improvised stuff some time, but he's known for always doing the studio versions.
      Look at Kirk Hammett, failing on his easy pentatonic scale solos. Out of tune and sloppy every time.
      I think Glenn would be better off if he did a little more practise. He's getting old, you know =)

    How does Glenn even stay upright?

    • @PhilDuggs
      @PhilDuggs 7 лет назад +2

      Dylan Bernier Because he is classically trained and knows how to keep his voice taken care of. The same can't be said for most modern vocalists who have throat surgery before 30.

    • @TheGamingChapel
      @TheGamingChapel 9 лет назад

      Bryan Knick to me, Rob looks out of place a bit during this track. Spends most of the time hunched over singing the song and his stage presence as of late has been lacking but he still has it. Myself, I prefer the Ripper Owens era of JP - but that is just me

      +William Reiner THIS video has you asking what the hell happened to his voice? Have you seen Painkiller from Graspop 2008? Go watch it. He sounds much better nowadays than back then, even though in this video his voice sounds kind of tired in some places. Still, his voice from 2011 on up till this year has been recovering in many regards.
