@@jmitch8122 that’s a crazy amount. I don’t mind paying someone for a service but that’s just way too much. Thanks for stopping by. 👍👍

@@handicamper101 2024 man. I live in Massachusetts so that probably accounts for a bit of the up charge.
YT has saved me tons, I have a medical background but growing up poor has helped me significantly with DIY.
      Again, thanks for posting this.
      Have a great day.

They are nice to have, we keep the spare room set at a lower temp and control. Nice work

George Brazil Air Conditioning charges $ 1300.00 each for installing these. One set screw !

That’s what made me research how to do it myself . When I had a company quote me over $600 to replace just one I knew there had to be a cheaper way. Lol. Thanks for stopping in and leaving a comment. I really appreciate it.

I bet you go to restaurants and ask chefs for their recipes and go home and cook it too

Good video - when you put the motor on with the pin and “shaft” is the duct in the open position; so installed with motor in “open” and duct open?

From the diy videos I've seen and comments I've read, dampeners should be replaced in the open position. Not an expert, just relaying what I've been seeing.

That's why they can do it though is because most people aren't handy enough to figure this out on their own. If you are smart enough to look up a RUclips video and figure something out yourself, then you deserve to save the 700. If not, you're stuck paying someone. Just the way it goes.

Those spring return motors are crap! I've gone through my fair share. Everytime the motor got so hot the plastic gear would get soft from the heat & strip out. I went to a 3 wire non spring return, non honeywell brand.

For your information when you buy a Honeywell part off the internet , you have no warranty from Honeywell you have to be a contractor.

The one us DiY'ers buy with "no warranty" we could also get 5 spares for the prices the HVAC folks charge. My local HVAC folks quoted me $250 to replace a capacitor on the internal unit in my attic, they were going to use a Made in China part according to the part # I saw in the quote, which when I checked the price online I saw it for $12. So, I bought a Made in the U.S.A. one for $20 and did it myself, and it's been rock solid the past 5 years so far.
