I gotta hand it to ya, Dan. Kudos to your dad, and you for getting into working with your hands, and having the guts to do things that's not normally your expertise. It's an uncommon, and refreshing sight these days, and seriously underrated. Good on you.
Hello. I came across your channel approx. 3 years ago and you are a very interesting guy who repairs shoes which I like to watch. I like that you include other things in your videos. You are always smiling👍
I swear to god his videos doesn’t even have to be ASMR...it’s just so relaxing to watch him do his thing as the shoe repair...I fall asleep half way through the video...PS...second time watching this video
I’m subscribed to many RUclips channels but never felt more excited and happier for someone to get to 100K subs. Dan, you just seem super genuine and that’s mostly the reason I keep watching your videos. I have little interest in the n shoes but I am interested in learning about all the things you can do and like to watch you smash your goals. Whatever they are. Huge congratulations mate. 🥳👏👏👏 I am genuinely happy for you even though I’ve never met you 😂
Imagine my surprise when I saw the jet car with Oklahoma Willy painted on the side. I am in Oklahoma and would love to hear the story behind it. Go Crimson & Cream!
You're not wrong about that tough old paint! I don't know if its the lead or simply time to adhere to the substrate, but that old paint is like powedercoat. Great content, Dan!
I have been watching your vids for awhile now. Love the content, though this is awesome. I love the fact you come up with new and creative content. You're a great RUclipsr in my book. Looking forward to what you think of next.
This is very nice! Maybe you could look at bluing if you don't want to leave any sort of particle like paint or plating inside a shoe. It should protect the steel from corrosion as well.
Your sense of humour 😂 and random noises, the crazy window dude (with his own dedicated episode) , strangely informatively interesting subject of cobbling with equally odd side skills and task work, THIS is what RUclips was made for. KEEP.IT.UP and get a TV show. 😅
proper cobblers like yourself a thing of the past. Maybe with the advent of Timpson. Grew up to see a proper tradesman from Italy repair shoes superbly. Had a pair of M and S oxford blacks with leather soles. he resucitated the soles on numerous occasions until the heel broke away. Unfortunatley the guy passed on. Keep up the great videos mate. All interesting stuff.
Hey Dan, I really enjoy the chill vibes of all of your videos. I've never been to a cellar my whole life so that was really cool. I've only read about them in books but never seen one in real life. I appreciate these content so much I've signed up for your Patreon. Thank you for sharing your work and your energy! :)
I think to myself, let's take a break from tool restoration videos, and watch some shoe repairs. Oh No!! Watch out for old paint, it could contain toxic lead. Nice work on the revamps, the gold and red is my fave. Thanks for sharing
I’m local (Aylesbury) and stumbled across your channel one day, can’t believe your dads built the jet bus! Did he also build the flat mobile? keep up the good work wholesome channels like this really are uplifting. 👍🏽
Different style of vid, enjoyed watching it tho, and I would say they are a Tool, as they are manually operated :) and spat my tea out at 03:47 :P can not wait for the next video Dan, keep up the good work :)
@@Dan_the_cobbler you have to be. Seriously, you repair shoes and some how you manage to throw in comedy throughout your videos and it's good. Sad to see that car go. You could've given us a tour of it.
This is great man! I just restored a Landis 5in1 and am a day away from a restoration on a Landis model 30. I'd love to find some old stretchers like those to redo as well.
Dan as always love your videos! Let’s see, I would have to say that a machine is a tool, or at least in my opinion. We use tools to make a job easier or decrease how much energy and effort we put into a job. Typically I’d think a machine is just any man made creation to be used as a tool with moving parts, gears, pins, etc. love questions that make you stop and think! Keep them coming !
@@ajmilagros Not sure they are a apin in the backside here in the UK once you see the holes the damage is done you are left with a sponge instead of wood

Hey DAN, for the shoe stretcher with the paint on them. Can you spray a clear coat over the paint to keep the paint from get on any of the shoes if you want to use the stretcher..??
By definition I would say that it is a machine. "A machine uses power to apply forces and control movement to perform an intended action." Where as, "A tool is an object used to extend the ability of an individual to modify features of the surrounding environment."

Can we do a video together 💗💜 ?
Both a machine and a tool. A machine that is used as a tool in shoe repair.

Shoe repair and NOW tool restorations?!!?! If this guy starts being a barber, I'm leaving my wife for him.

I love the jerk off innuendo and the crudely drawn man bits with the puffer fish and what Dan gets sheepish about is "crap" haha. I love it!
What man bits haha I need to rewatch.
@@Dan_the_cobbler In America "Jerk Off" means "wanker".
I laughed out loud too, the drawing of the man bits on the wall behind the puffer is hilarious 😂

Just spotted it. Just over the puffers right shoulder.

Crazy name for a solvent😂

Lovely jaguar color mate.

My dad has that green sanding wheel he acquired from his dad.😁
I would have probably use White Lithium based grease, it's thicker, but still lubricates metal on metal extremely well.

Hey DAN, for the shoe stretcher with the paint on them. Can you spray a clear coat over the paint to keep the paint from get on any of the shoes if you want to use the stretcher..??
TBH just the dried paint would be safe enough but not worth the risk on expensive shoes, laquer could help a bit.

Hey, Dan, your "Let's get Sticky" t-shirt and your "Jerk-Off" remover are polar opposites.
Does that mean the same as it does in the US and it’s a remover too!
The terms machine vs tool are not necessarily exclusive. In this case you have a machine that is used as a tool. Love your show.
