I went back to Silverton this year after not being there for a while. I saw the lift while I was there and was thinking, "Really? A ski lift on that mountain?"
I visited Silverton via the steam train twice in the 80s for a day, long before I became an avid snowboarder. Fun little town. I started riding Mammoth almost exclusively in 1996. Is that the old chair 9? Would be fun to come ride Silverton on a lift I’d ridden 25 years ago. Haha
Been to silverton several times, but my last experience was all time and got to ski with Shane and a stacked crew. We were the first group there and had to get heli’d in after it was closed for 2 weeks due to the worst avi’s in history and the “bomb cyclone” storm with 48in of pow. Epic time 🥳
That was Incredible!!
been Living in Durango for 8+ years and still haven't Snowboarded Silverton,
this makes me want to Do it this Year.
Great Video
Love the vid. Here's to skiing, snowboarding, and the "pucker factor" ;)
Nice crested butte is the steepest I’ve skied glad it was mentioned for reference
