- Legacy Kobolds is a bizarre Cheerios style combo deck in Legacy, that looks to cast a load of really bad creatures then kill your opponent with the magic of Bushwhacking! It's like 8 Whack, but with Kobolds and Phyrexian Walkers!

This is why I play magic! I’m so glad you continue to show an extreme passion for jank that too many players lack; brewing up something crazy and unique to see if it gets there is so much more fun than bashing tier one lists for win percentages.

The punt was pain
So at 13:19 4 red and 2 green in the pool (there is still a spirit guide and a lotus petal in the hand) there is :
529 (10x28+3x29+6x27+1x0) power on the board
cast bush wacker (storm count is 30) 2 red 2 green in the pool
551 (10x29+3x30+6x28+1x2+1x1) power on the board
cast glimps and crop rotation for storm (31) caste haze of rage (32), all of our creatures get 33 power
for 693 more damage + 20 from pest for a grand total of 1264 damage (1201 if delver blocks)
I think we can optimize this even more by going a few card back (before the first time haze of rage was cast if we really want to do the most damage)

Far from optimal/correct. 22 creatures, all getting bonus from 2 bushwackers and 1 signal pest. You can also sac Tinder Wall for RR, so another Haze of Rage was possible. You also want to play your Hazes at the very end, in this case it would have been for about storm 30, 31 and 32. Thus adding +96 power to all 22 creatures, for a grand total of well over 2100 damage.
They should have brought back kobolds for throne of eldirlane

Totally ignoring that Elvish Spirit Guide in game 3 caused me great pain.
My favorite deck ever. Only deck I have full signed and/or foiled.
But I'm playing a list with cradle, behemoth and mistcutter hydra.
This reminds me of my Druid Tribal Commander deck.. It uses Glimpse effects and Seton (who makes 1-drop druids pay for themselves so you can cast another.)

Scape goat is Gerrard killing a fake copy of Volrath. It’s one of the best never used cards from my childhood. Love seeing it in a deck. I’d love two in the deck and Concordant Crossroads would be a sexy addition.

Will you consider playing the teferi knowledge pool combo deck in modern for this series? I took it to 9th place at SCG Richmond that was in like April or May. If you want my list let me know and I’d be happy to send it to you.
My kobold deck uses Cloudstone Curio and Genesis Chamber. With Door of Destinies, choosing Kobold equals very large Kobolds and very large army of myrs. Not sure if it's legal in any format except casual. But turn 2 large army is fun. Turn 1 Sol Ring and Genesis Chamber. Turn 2 Cloudstone Curio, kobold, kobold, kobold, etc... (infinate engine for almost anything. life, damage, creatures, proliferate, storm, draw, mana. Of course you would need the appropriate cards to use any of these options. ) Thanks for the videos.
Assuming all you change is drawing one less card earlier in the game, thereby allowing you to cast the bushwhacker. You cast the bushwhacker just before your final haze and then adding the +1/+1 to all from the pest you get:
3 creatures at 63=189
10 creatures at 62=620
6 creatures at 61=366
3 creatures at 34=102
total = 1277 (1214 with a block)
okay so not the best at math so i could be wrong but if done optimally game one you should have had 177,092 damage? the number was getting stupid large so not 100 % sure it is right. but pretty confident.
*EDIT* I stuffed it up and cant math sooooo it looks closer to 1947

@@PleasantKenobi it was realized i stuffed up the math hard there a couple missed brackets and the whole thing was off to the races actual answer is 1947 not confident at all in my maths any more
Kobolds are more Fruit Loops or Apple Jacks rather than Cheerios.
Apple Jacks is the Legacy deck with Orcish Lumberjack though, and Fruit Loops I believe is the combo deck with that old white Enchantment that loops creatures. These names are taken by other, existant Legacy decks.

@@slyguy183 I believe Frosted Flakes was a name some people were trying to get off the ground for the Crashing Footfalls Dreadhorde Arcanist Legacy deck because someone placed with a snow-dependent list. I don't believe it ended up sticking but it still might be confusing to attempt to revive the name for a different deck. Cinnamon Toast Crunch I don't THINK is taken, but I could be wrong. In any case, I don't see how any of these are more appropriate names than 'Cheerios'. The name not only fits the basic premise of the deck well, it is so established there's even a Modern deck named after this deck.

I once Beat a 4 colour Loam deck with BUG Reanimator by not playing lands and just reanimating a Griselbrand off of petals. Lands are for chumps.

Why didn't you cast your glimpse with spirit guide at 25 min? Too all in for your blood?
he would have won if he had, there were 3 0costers on top, he could have easily drawn petals for the kill
At 25 min, should have cast that Glimpse of the Spirit Guide, probably would have won that turn...
doing quick math if you hit the bushwacker instead of the tinderwall with haste you would have hit for 1069 (nice) but then i remember signal pest exists so 1069+18 is 1087 (less nice)
in game three at around the 25 minute mark you could have exiled the elf spirit guide to cast glipse before you cast those other 0 drops to draw 2 cards per as opposed to 1 card per

My favorite combo deck is a modern Naya splash mono green devotion deck that I created. It's not perfect but it's pretty fun

Any reason why you don't have a beast masters asscension? I've found it can help for damage if you end up fizzling on the glimpse and can't find a bushwacker.
Mainboard 2 copies of obstinate familiar so that you can stop yourself from drawing out your deck

Please do a Lol Wut episode where you play the Ral Storm Conduit, Repeated Reverberation, and Skewer the Critics 'combo' in standard. So good but so janky it would be perfect.

It’s a crime that we’ve only gotten like 2 new Kobolds. Look, I don’t want Goblins 2.0, but I want something funny that isn’t incredibly broken in Standard. A kobold Memnite would be neat, and doesn’t add to Metalcraft/Affinity, and also means that Kobolds have a 1/1 threat to start from.
roughly 1300 dmg if no blockers 21 creatures attacking ( roughly 60 power ) + 1 from bushwacker + 1 from signil pest) so 21times 62 = 1302 ( some were a little less then 62 dmg... but im not doing that mush math)

They banned gitaxian probe in pauper too, which is only really a pain, becuase my mono green infect pauper deck had them, and the whole deck was signed by Rudy from Alpha Investments (It already wasn't the best deck in pauper), it's still pretty much the same deck, and it didn't really get worse or better without it. I think I just slotted in Polllenbrite Druid, which with the proliferate, might actually have made it a little better IDK *shrug*

I did some maths for you Vince. Assuming you cast the Bushwhacker and another Haze of Rage by saccing the Tinder Wall, you'd have swung for 1,985 damage. Also, teach me how to sacrifice the wall on Tinder in real life too please, you sexy man. I'm lonely.
