very enjoyable video. for sure the kids of days past definitely had real mini machines intended to serve in learning life skills, what they make these days are intended to just test patience and discourage learning
That's so cute! I wish I knew more about these little machines when my auntie was alive, she would have loved this. She being a seamstress was afflicted in later life with arthritis and her machine sat in its cabinet under the stairs, she still had the sewing bug and this little thing would have made her so happy... Shame. Her sewing machine deserves a video, I now own it and it been through the wars literally lol very interesting video you always find cool stuff very jealous! x
Just got Singer Junior Miss. It's missing the tread holder and you mentioned that the big orange knob need a handle. My is missing too. How does it look? What is the function of the metal coming from the side of the orange knob. You also mentioned that there's a connection for electricity? Mine is missing on almost all children machine. Do you know of an universal plug I can use for this little machines? I also have a Durham handcrank machine that it seems to a plug for electricity but it's missing. I add batteries but doesn't do anything. At least the hand crank moves. How does it work this machines. I also have the Gateway handcrank and Sew-Ette got batteries for Sew-Ette but no cord power. How this machine works without electricity?
I'm not sure there is a universal plug for the Singer Junior Miss, but if you do a search on eBay for a Singer Junior Miss Adapter, you should find one. Here's a link to the manual www.manualslib.com/download/364669/Singer-Junior-Miss-67b.html. As for the Durham, Gateway, and Sew Ette - I'm not familiar with those machines. Check Facebook for a group covering those machines as they may be able to help you.
The modern toy machine sounds very noisy, I think you are right and the singer 20 seems the best. It's a shame how everything is made of soo much plastic these days
The modern one sounds the part, but honestly, I think parents would find ways of making it disappear. It's so annoying and frustrating to use. In contrast, the Singer 20 sews better than some of my full-size machines! Thanks so much for watching! 😀
I love the look of the Singer 20 machine. Vintage machines are my favourite! I'll always choose a metal one over plastic.

Very true! That 21st Century version frustrated the heck out of me 😆 and it was so loud too! Thanks for watching! 🙂

I'm so sorry to hear of your Auntie's passing. Her story and that of her machine are yours to tell... so make the video 🙂
