Thank you so much for this video! I’d never used a sewing machine in my life and was handed down my grandmother’s machine. I was very daunted but thanks to you I’ve just managed to successfully use it! So pleased! Thank you!!
2023 and forgot how to thread my Singer 427. Thank you! Great machines, my mam had this very model so when I saw it for £40 fully serviced etc, I snapped it up. Been sewing army tents like butter 👍
Got this machine from my mom, who got it at her wedding 41 years ago and I am trying to make my first garment, a dress for my daughter. This video has been priceless. Thank you!
This is INCREDIBLY helpful! Thank you, you gem! I've copped a singer 449 and a jobs lot of equipment for £35 (bargain) and have no idea how to sew so this is the first step that's eased me in, most grateful!!❤
Sir, thank you so much for the basic how-to video. I got a newer (but cheaper quality) sewing machine many years ago & it just didn’t hold up & I sent it on its way. Now I have a young family and I want to reawaken my skills with a sewing machine. I found a singer 7110 from the late 70s & I’ve always been taught that those were built to last! But they are intimidating. Thank you for the most detailed explanations, the amazing close ups. Thank you! (And as a yankee across the pond, I loved listening to your English dialect. 😊). Have a wonderful day, cheers!
Thank you so much! I found an old singer 377 in my grandma's attic when we were cleaning her house out after my grand-parents died. I've always wanted to learn, and the machine is a little beat up but switches on. I had no idea how to thread everything until I watched your video. Thanks again! 😊
Thank you so much!!! I spend days trying to get a stitch. I was so frustrated and your video saved my life and money because I was going to pay someone to show me how to thread the machine. I realised I threaded the tension area incorrectly. God bless you!!
THANKS for the help as I had the machine for years and never used it. Haven't used a sewing machine since 1980 when I was a high school freshmen> This helped me set it up so I can make masks during the COVID-19 Pandemic! You were so helpful and thankful for your video!!
Thank u soooooooooo much! I forgot how to put the bobin in my machine to start sewing again. My machine has been in the closet for years. My things to fix and adjust piled up and even donated. I found a beautiful dress yesterday that was too big. This morning I pulled out my machine and found your video. I was determined to adjust and take that dress in to fit me…..and I did!!! Then I pulled out my other things to fix! Again thank you 🥰
Buying a Singer 527 this weekend (July 2020) and found your tutorial very helpful. Not to mention that I find your voice and mannerisms much nicer than many.
Thank you for this! I recently aquired a Singer 522 which is basically the same set up. Knowing vintage machines reasonably well i knew vaguely how to set it up but the tension wheel threw me! Your video was basic and on point without a whole heap of fluff added! I can get on with sewing now! Thanks again!!😊
thank you so much for this helpfull video.I pulled my grandma's sewing machine and thanks to you I didnt had to stare helpless on an old manual from the 60's
Thank you so much for this video! You helped me a lot with starting up my Singer-968 sewing machine that I got as a gift. I like your videos. Cheers from Hungary!
Thank you for your help! I've been trying for half an hour to connect the thread from the bobbin with the other thread, but it didn't work. You showed it very well
Thank you co much. I just bought a Singer 367, and this was healpfull as its much older than my other machine and also a bit different int the loadings. Thank you Mr
thank you so much!!! i found my great granny’s singer 427 in the garage and it is still in working order, but i had no idea how to thread it. thank you again
Thank you for this video! I keep returning to this when I'm trying to thread my Mum's Singer machine and find I always forget a step when I thread on my own! I appreciate how you explain each step so clearly.
Thank you so much for this videos sir! Its 2020 and it saved me. I'm making masks for my family and loved ones and without a machine, it was hell. My father found a Singer 522 in the garbage a couple of years ago and me managed to repeat it and make it work. But that wasn't the hardest part ! Bow I can sew ! Thanks a lot
Thank you so much! I dusted off my mum's old machine that's been doing nothing for like a decade. You've really helped make sewing a million times easier for my poor little hands
Your video helped me solve the thread tension problem that I had. I wasn't winding the thread properly around the pressure plates and out into the spring and you taught me how. Thank you !
I bought a 527 a couple years ago to my daughter, who was eight at that moment. She`s been using it every now and then, but there has been some problems with the stiches. This video helped me to do the threading correctly. Thank You for a great video!
Thank you for the great video. With the ongoing Covid 19 situation, we dug out our old Singer Meritt 9612 to sew some face masks. Would not have been able to thread this monster without your help.
Thank you for your time and effort making this video. I have a manual downloaded from the internet but the threading instructions were next to useless. Your video has now got me to the point where I can start to sew. Again, Many thanks. Robert Cook - Melbourne, Australia.
@@rickelstone4306 Hello Rick - I am definitely not a sewing machine expert. What little I have learnt is that there are all sorts of little fiddly bits that get clogged with lint from the fabric. I started with getting the machine serviced first. Then I knew that any issues after that were due to 'operator error' - me! - Good Luck - Robert
Hi. Thanks for your video. It's excellent at showing how to thread the machine up, bobbin too. I've just bought a Singer Sewing Machine 513 and like you said the older models are well worth keeping. I'm having it fully serviced because I don't know when it was last used. I'm really looking forward to just using the machine for little jobs like cushions, curtains etc. 👍👌👋🤗
Greetings from Amsterdam Thank you so much I don’t use the machine often and always have to find out (again) 😢 how it works Now I have a problem with the under threat making loops 😳🙃 ✋❤️
Just grabbed a 533 at a thrift store for $12, seems in relatively good shape but BOY is it filthy! Should look nice when it's cleaned up and it's built like a tank!
Thank you. Just given my brother my spare 507 model and it is very much like yours. This is one of the clearest displays of getting the machine set up. Hope you are well (noting the age of the video)
Thank you for this video. We just bought an old Singer and for the first time we’ll be sewing. And your video was well explained. Not to mention we love your account 😊👍🏻
This is very helpful but I'm having problems... it's not grabbing the bobbin thread even though I followed the steps correctly, and the thread on top gets extremely loose when the metal arm goes down
I notice you did not feed cotton through the guide after the tension spring but straight up to nodding arm at ( 9 minutes ). do you find it sews better this way ?
Hello mr Seagul, i love this film. I use it a lot for threading, I have a question mabey you can help me, my needle is jamming under by the spool, also the under thread is not picked up anymore, do you have any idea what is going on? Thanks a lot, Bonnie ps i have a singer magic 14,.
Video is 9 years old, and STILL helpful!! THANK YOU!🌹
Thank you so much for this video! I’d never used a sewing machine in my life and was handed down my grandmother’s machine. I was very daunted but thanks to you I’ve just managed to successfully use it! So pleased! Thank you!!
7 years later and this is still very helpful. Thank you so much.

Just brilliant. My aunt's 513 is no longer a mystery to me thanks to you! Can get cracking making curtains now!
Thank you co much. I just bought a Singer 367, and this was healpfull as its much older than my other machine and also a bit different int the loadings. Thank you Mr
Thank you for this. As a first timer on a singer 507 I found your tutorial easier to follow than the user manual.
thank you so much!!! i found my great granny’s singer 427 in the garage and it is still in working order, but i had no idea how to thread it. thank you again

Thank you for this video! So many don't show close ups and details and I was getting lost, your video saved the day, much appreciated!
Thank you so much! I dusted off my mum's old machine that's been doing nothing for like a decade. You've really helped make sewing a million times easier for my poor little hands

🤗🤗🤗👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you, still useful in 2019 haha
Thank you !!! by far the best tutorial for this machine !!!
Thank you for your time and effort making this video. I have a manual downloaded from the internet but the threading instructions were next to useless. Your video has now got me to the point where I can start to sew. Again, Many thanks. Robert Cook - Melbourne, Australia.
Thank you for the video. If I am unable to get the beautiful stitched you got from this machine does that mean it needs servicing?

Exactly what I needed for my mum's old Singer 507, thanks!
Hi.

Brilliant! Mislaid manual (somewhere safe!) for wife's Singer Stylist 367 which is very similar. Great refresher. Thanks! :)
Just grabbed a 533 at a thrift store for $12, seems in relatively good shape but BOY is it filthy! Should look nice when it's cleaned up and it's built like a tank!
I have a Singer 7105 and this helped a lot, thanks!
You helped me a lot .. I've just got my grandma's singer machine and i had no idea till i saw your video! Great detailed video !! Antony from Greece
Thankyou I learnt things i never new also slow and easy to follow
Thank you. Just given my brother my spare 507 model and it is very much like yours. This is one of the clearest displays of getting the machine set up. Hope you are well (noting the age of the video)

Thanks so much for such a detailed guide!
Thanks for being a great teacher
So clearly explained. Thank you!
Super! Thank you for the video. From Cochrane, Alberta, Canada.
Thank you so much for your help! I couldn’t figure out how to thread the pressure plate bit properly..
Thank you! I was finally able to thread my Mom's 40 year old Singer properly, amazingly I still had the manual, but the diagram was atrocious.
Thank you for this video. We just bought an old Singer and for the first time we’ll be sewing.
And your video was well explained. Not to mention we love your account 😊👍🏻
Thank you! I just got a vintage singer, not quite this model but similar enough where I think I can thread it properly

Thank you very much, I have a Singer Stylist 522 almost identical and it was really helpfull to get me started.
Thanks a lot - just got one of these machines and want to learn more - like how to set it for different types of stitches? etc.
Very good, very helpful! Thank you sir!
Thank you! It was very helpful.
Thanks very much. I lost the instructions and could not get it correct. Cheers.
Very helpful video.
This is so helpful, thank you so much
Thank you!! Great video!
Thanks really clearly and help! 10 min bang go! It took me half hour messing around with this machine! Thanks! Subscribe!
Thank you so much, extremely helpful and appreciated
Excellent
Thank you! Will you please describe all the wheels, knobs and what they are for and how to use. I’d greatly appreciate it.
Nice video what direction does the needle eye face??
Very useful. Great instructions
Could you please make a video on how to backstitch on a singer 533 if that’s possible!
Thank you for this very helpful video!
Thanks very helpful, am doing textile gcse and I can never quite get the hang of it
This is very helpful but I'm having problems... it's not grabbing the bobbin thread even though I followed the steps correctly, and the thread on top gets extremely loose when the metal arm goes down
It says in my manual that the machine has zipper and buttonhole foot functions, but which dial functions would I use on my singer507
Could you tell me why the tensions plates seem to get themselves so tight that the thread breaks in that area every few minutes?
Thanks very much I found it was just what I needed
Would this be the same on a singer 498
