I really don’t think music will ever return to American airways in our life time. Thank God it’s such a quality it can be listened to, over, and over again and sound as fresh as the day you heard it. Yep, I’m talken ole analog LP’s and speakers pushed by a steroid Stereo amp older than your kids. Rockin the nite away. Heaven is gotta have endless open air concerts with our favorites playing like it’s their first show. Amen!
The saxophone player is possessed by his muse. Excellent playing. He almost stole the show. Jim's solo is one of the tastiest ive rver heard. Perfect performance technically by the crew and kudos to the engineer who recorded and mixed this timeless classic. I cant ask for more.
I was in 7th grade in '63 and finished high school in '69, so I am a child of the '60s but still got into the '70s. These two gents could write and surround themselves with wonderful musicians. The instrumental part starts out bluesy and transitions into jazzy mix. Absolutely marvelous.
Always liked that song, performed here wonderfully by a smooth, tight band. Kenny has always had stellar vocals, and he hasn't lost a step. Great to see he and Jim back together for this performance.
I'll never ever forget walking into a then premium audio store, my first visit to such an establishment. I was coming from the sound of a $40 transistor radio....in mono. Angry Eyes was playing on their very best system, I heard it before entering the store and once inside felt it. Things in my little world were never the same after that.
"Blindness binds us together with a false disguise"! Loggins & Messina had some of the greatest lyrics - not to mention musicians and melodies. Their vocal harmonies were also virtual perfection. One of my favorite groups of all time! (And I've never seen them live!😔)
The best song that had the best sax, back in them best times,if you're in your 60s n 70s we were the best blessed generations of all times we had it all for the taking.....thank the Lord n God Bless US All!...please oh lord
Yes, The original sax player on "Angry Eyes" was Al Garth back in those days. A versatile musician who also played violin and other instruments. He later played with the Dirt Band and the Eagles. Those were the days as you say. We were blessed.
Everybody here is flawless and just groove'n... This drummer (especially), just seems so relaxed yet so on point. Unbelievable performance by all.. 🎶❣️👍
This is an AMAZING PERFORMANCE ! The Talent Level of these musicians is completely off the charts ! I absolutely love this song. Beautiful music for sure.
Wow. A big band, all working together as one. Even the soloists are still playing with and reacting to the other musicians. Live music on this level is like magic. Also: props to the drummer back there, playing with subtlety, finesse, intensity and power.
Wow, what memories. I remember when this was the #1 hit. I was driving down Santa Monica freeway listening this song, when I spotted that giant billboard with Loggins' face plastered on it...... Just wow !
I love Messina's guitar playing. So clean and clear, and note perfect. Sounds like no one else. He was the genius behind the Loggins and Messina sound.
Saw them back in college play this song. their backup musicians back in the day were phenomenal. Al Garth, John Clark, Micheal Omartian. The original live version was a very long jam. Just epic.
This reminds me exactly of the time when my wife and I saw them at a concert in Milwaukee Wisconsin in the summer or autumn of 1974 and played this song for the first time I heard it. They don't look the same of course, but the performance and the overall sound matches perfectly. Thank You, whoever produced this for doing such a great job! You nailed it!!!
Kenny Loggins has always been a soulful musician and you can genuinely feel his music. He's another... 'Blue Eye........... Soul Brother.' I attended one his concerts in the late 1980's in St. Louis and did he put on a show! He was jumping on top of his piano singing and dancing. It was quite the performance not unlike this video. He always have the best musicians playing with him. Well done Kenny, my Man!
I saw these two in November 1973 at the old field house at Northern Illinois University. They opened the show sitting on two stools exactly like the one behind Messina here. An acoustic version of House on Pooh Corner. Then they stood up, the curtains opened, lights came up, they grabbed electric guitars and tore into Angry Eyes. About 5,000 students up screaming immediately. It's still great rock 'n roll.
Wish I could travel back to the 70’s, and stay there forever.
I am hoping that's what heaven would be like, with a little of the fifties, and sixties tossed in for good reasons.

And not so easy to play continuously over that period of time.
Yes! Funky Good
This is what happens when you reunite 2 of the best musicians on the planet. Beyond fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I counted way more then two ! 😊 Bass player is great. Great Band man for man.
Just good stuff!! Takes me back thanks guys for all the great music
Caught these guys in Hawaii at the end of the farewell tour. Since they lived in Maui, they played over three hours. What a great show! Great jams all the way to the house at Pooh corner.
When Talent, and Chemistry collide! Doesn’t happen often, kinda watching the night sky in hopes you’ll witness a one in a thousand year spectacle. Well, we did and dint know it. Amen!
Amen, amen, indeed ! ❤
Wow! Just wow! I feel like I've been transported back to my youth! Fantastic musicians.
Always one of my favorite live jams, awesome sax and Messina's tasty guitar solo can't be beat!
Messiah Messina, listen "BING" 💥@4:26 ❤ it❣
Great Song , Still Rockin it !
Holy smokes, that is one of the best live snare sounds I've ever heard!
Just found this one. Holy crap. There's a reason us old guys refer to "back in the day" !!!
Yup! No doubt about that!
I'm the old guy
I know... brings back some awesome memories of just living in the moment!
Back in the day we could play unlike the junk out today. This stuff is freaking Killer.
Same...
Man all of them are elite musicians.
Amazing stuff!
just a classy piece of music and Kenny Loggins and Jimmy Messina are musicians extrordinaire......
The texture of this song is amazing, rock and roll, jazz with great vocals. Watch it over and over
pittsburg, ca ??? trench plate rental?
So is the rest of the Band! BADASS❣
Somebody say "Amen brother"!
This was one of the best live bands of the time so much onstage energy!
My favorite Loggins And Messina song. I love it when a live performance sounds like the original recording.
The saxophone player is possessed by his muse. Excellent playing. He almost stole the show. Jim's solo is one of the tastiest ive rver heard. Perfect performance technically by the crew and kudos to the engineer who recorded and mixed this timeless classic. I cant ask for more.
Who is that guy? I totally agree
talk about great live music....this era was unique.....best music..best musicians.....no doubt
I was in 7th grade in '63 and finished high school in '69, so I am a child of the '60s but still got into the '70s. These two gents could write and surround themselves with wonderful musicians. The instrumental part starts out bluesy and transitions into jazzy mix. Absolutely marvelous.
Blows me away every time I watch and listen to this brilliant performance. WoW!
When I was in the U.S. Navy this was the song of the fleet, we heard it everyday on our compartment speakers....
One of the finest songs written and performed by 2 guys who set the standard for live shows
"Blindness binds us together with a false disguise"!
Loggins & Messina had some of the greatest lyrics - not to mention musicians and melodies. Their vocal harmonies were also virtual perfection. One of my favorite groups of all time! (And I've never seen them live!😔)
U nailed iT 🤑🤠🥰
A masterpiece. The talent of everyone there is amazing.
Like a fine wine. Kenny and Jim just get better with age. That band is absolutely dynamite😁😁😁😁
Mary Anne - Yes! No wardrobe changes or choreographed dancing here, just top notch musicianship. Who the hell is ' Gabe' 'Roy'? Cheers!
Great music !!!
that is why i am going to see them in hollywood!
Live music separates the talented from the engineered
It really something to see this...just luv it.
TRUTH!
Amen brother!!
I’ve had angry eyes-no more!
And beer makes um all sound good.. if we all had the money and staffing for the equipment and band alone...
Great band. Awesome performance. Jim Messina is why I traded in my Les Paul and bought a Strat. I've never regretted it.
This is an AMAZING PERFORMANCE ! The Talent Level of these musicians is completely off the charts ! I absolutely love this song. Beautiful music for sure.
One of the greatest performances of one of the greatest songs ever!
This song never gets old. Like green grass and high tides by the outlaws can always listen to it weekly
Messina was producing new talent when he came across Loggins.
@@jcgillin51 Yep, he wasn't expecting to get on the recording himself.
Word! My nigggaa 🍻
Nice💥
Saw them back in college play this song. their backup musicians back in the day were phenomenal. Al Garth, John Clark, Micheal Omartian. The original live version was a very long jam. Just epic.
I got to LIVE IN THE VERY BEST years of REAL MUSIC.
I'm a guitar player. Although the guitar solo was great, that sax solo was unreal. He should have gotten a standing ovation for it.
soldanovht noneofya Amen. I would have been on my feet after that!
I played clarinet in grade school until I heard Take 5. My teacher would not let me switch, so I quit. Sax and flute were my favorites.
Agreed!
Amazing mix especially drum setup and sound. These engineers knew their craft.
My brother...im old enuf...maybe one of the best underated albums of all time
And guitarist.
Discovered this about a year ago and this is easily the 50th time I've watched it.
I used to put on my koss ear phone's and turn on the reel to reel, and rock that shit wide open, i was about 12 years old
Discovered this live version yrs ago. It's been on my playlist ever since. I've watched it countless times and it's a rush every single time.
Celebrity Theater - Phoenix, AZ with my gf - beyond fantastic! This brings back such happy times…
My first ever live concert were Loggins and Messina in Berserkley nearly 50 years ago. Was awesome for sure!!
I was in berserkly back then. Can't believe I missed them!!
So, live music fan ever since? Because that hadda be good in '72...
I loved n still love both Loggins n Messina. Kenny n jim made beautiful music. Still listening Dec 2024
Me too ...... Merry Christmas to all ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I saw these two in November 1973 at the old field house at Northern Illinois University.
