My slow dancing days are long gone, but I would have loved to have the opportunity to dance with someone special to this particular song! I'm surprised I missed it the first time out.
I was working in broadcasting when Jim's first solo album came in the mail. It was so good I took it home and still have it to this day. So sad that all the Glaser brothers are gone now.
I went country back in the early 80's and this was one of the biggest reasons why. Songs like this and many others back then were not regular country. They had a different something that set them apart. Steve Wariner, Michael Johnson and T. G. Shepherd just to name a few that kind of broke out of that country shell and molded something just a little different. I loved it!!!
The song and the singer prove that country music is superior to any other kind. The way he sounds on the high notes is exquisite. One of my favorite country (or crossover) songs.
Such a lovely song! I really love Jim Glaser's smooth vocals, and this has to be one of the most beautiful and catchy melodies that I've heard, yet. Discovering lesser known gems like this has given me an even greater appreciation for 80's country.

This sublime sentiment wrapped by a sublime melody haunted me for decades, unheard, unfound. Such the richness of RUclips. My first cousin Buddy Spicher is an A-List Nashville fiddler. He says what we infer: Jim Glaser is a gentleman. I wonder if Mr. Glaser wrote it.
What a loss Jim will be, he could sing any song from ballads, country western, and medium rock. I doubt if another singer of this generation will be found.
i have many good and sweet memories, listening this beautiful country pop song..... was unforgetable summertime of 1984 ,amazing artist! excellent song!
I remember that summer and this song as well. I bought this album that summer and also saw Jim in concert in Little Rock. Great times and memories. Jim passed away last evening, so saddened by this news. Glad I got to see him that summer.
