Definitely. I'm not big on kamelot myself. Only started listening to them because of the haunting with Simone and I'm pretty big on epica. I do dig March of mephisto a lot though. It's really the only song by them I really like and it's been om my Playlist ever since I've first heard it.

Both are great, just personal preference. They have a live DVD from 2006 called "One Cold Winter's Night" which is fantastic. If Wacken 2013 was the best way to introduce people to Nightwish, then One Cold Winter's Night is probably the way to introduce people to Kamelot. The family ends up spiraling out of control and the man grows up feeling so guilty and the album is the story about him searching for atonement. This is an iconic song by them, but not their best song. It's a decent intro to Kamelot. My intro was Ghost Opera but their albums are all great. They have had several different lead singers over the years with lots of female vocalists. The band is awesome live and everyone is so talented. We saw them on tour with Nightwish and when Nightwish had a falling out with their lead vocalist (Olzon), the female vocalist for Kamelot took over on tour - that's how much talent this group packs.

As someone else already said, while this isn’t bad, it doesn’t feel right to me for you guys to be exposed to Kamelot without Roy Kahn, and I’m assuming they’re often suggested to you guys in the comments sections of videos where you talk about female vocalists because of that song in particular. This is a good song, but it's far from their greatest imo. Their Top 5 would probably have to be "Memento Mori", "Ghost Opera", "Center of the Universe", "Elizabeth I, II & III" and "Nights of Arabia". The latter three can be heard on the fantastic live DVD "One Cold Winter's Night".

This is a good song, but it's far from their greatest imo. Their Top 5 would probably have to be "Memento Mori", "Ghost Opera", "Center of the Universe", "Elizabeth I, II & III" and "Nights of Arabia". The latter three can be heard on the fantastic live DVD "One Cold Winter's Night".
