In the 90s, I was a vegetarian for 3-years, and worked out in a NYC gym. One day, I was walking by Gallagher’s window, and decided I wanted the biggest steak I could get, and went in. Had the greatest workout I had in years, and it was my last day as a vegetarian.
Not only are your reviews super informative and detailed, but you also go to the places that are easier on the wallet. Looks like an incredible value and worth a trip into the city.
Thank you, UA! My daughter and I tried Gallagher’s for dinner and we are still talking about our medium rare Porterhouse steak 🥩 cooked to perfection! ❤. Hostess Courtney, Barkeep Leo and waiter George were simply the Best ! 🙏

Great review. My wife and I treated ourselves to dinner at Gallaghers last night. Fantastic food and excellent service. Shout out to Robert our waiter. About 3 blocks away from our hotel. Well worth the price.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for videos like this! I'm visiting NY properly again in a few weeks and have a whole bunch of places you reviewed on my list. Thanks for doing what you do- keep at it, your channel is going to explode in popularity with time!
Awesome review sir! The Mrs. and I consider this one of the best in NYC as well! Lunch is awesome, also their Restaurant Week menu is always impressive. I'm so glad you showed the bar at the end of the video... Great open atmosphere. I've even stopped in a few times just for a cocktail! Hope you had a safe and happy new year good sir!
I went to Gallagher's the last time I was in NYC, definitely one of the best, if not the best steakhouse I've ever been to. Great channel UA, keep up the good work!!!
Enjoy! I really enjoy their ribeye and NY sirloin steak if you're willing to splurge. Their lunch special is excellent though if you're going for that!
If Gallagher's ages their meats in the front window. For a fancy New York steakhouse the restaurant must stink to high heaven as soon as you walk in the front door.
I had a fabulous lunch special I will never forget at The Palm in Las Vegas Forum Shops. It was a 8 ounce FM with Bordelaise Sauce, Mushrooms, and sautéed Onions. It included grilled Asparagus and mashed potatoes. I had a Cesar Salad to start and cheesecake for dessert.
UA, best video yet. Gallagher’s Steakhouse is awesome. Been there for dinner twice and lunch once. Great older guy waiter who was hysterically funny. Great drink and service and great advice what to have. Been injured for years but if I ever can definitely my first stop
Thank you man for the review. I'm visiting NYC soon and I've been looking at steakhouses. Will definitely visit Gallagher's based on your honest review, loved it!
that steak and cheesecake look perfect. As for a wedge salad, if you ever get to Morris Plains NJ, you have to have the Wedge Salad at Arthur's Tavern... it is fantastic. Thank you for excellent videos.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Your contribution combines a high level of knowledge in the gastronomic industry, combined with a professional level of videographic technology. With this one, you scored 10 out of 10.
Writing from South Wales, UK. Am hungover today after a New Year's Eve party last night and this channel has entertained me today and helped me regain my appetite 🤣 thanks so much. You should come to the UK and try our takeaways. If you ever do I HIGHLY recommend our fish and chips, Sunday dinner and Gregs.
Loved eating frequently at the bar here in the '80's. I was very pleased to see that it is till going strong. Only problem eating at the bar was when a group of guys wearing heavy cologne came and sat beside me. I didn't even have to ask, the waiters knew. The immediately found a table to move me to. There is a lot of New York sports history oozing from every corner of this restaurant, and the high energy of the crowd is always a big part of the whole experience. Thanks for the enthusiastic review. Oh ya, the steaks really are sensational too. Simple and delicious.
You should go to Benjamin Steakhouse in NYC. One of the best Dry Age Ribeyes with great popcorn / nutty butter Umami. You might have a better experience at these steakhouses if you spend a few more bucks to get a proper aged cut in my opinion.
This is by far the best steakhouse in the area (including NJ), I've been to all the big hitters like Keen's, Sparks, Quality Meats, Peter Lugers, Wolfgang's, Roots, and Gallagher's is consistent with great service and food.
If the plate isnt hot, i know right away what type of place im Eating at!! Some dont pay attentention to detail !! Some waiters and waitresses dont either, thats why they get the big tips!!
Looks good, but Delmonico's is my choice for best steakhouse in the NY. The bone in rib-eye is life changing; seriously one of the most perfect-in-every-way steaks I've ever eaten. Perfectly seared and slightly crisp on the outside; endless juicy, tender, flavorful bites when you start working your way through the meat on the bone. Every bite was a wave of euphoria washing over my brain continuously. Paired with their perfectly blended potatoes; dragging a forkful of that juicy steak through those creamy clouds, I can't recommend it enough.
I'm sorry UA, but a review on the Filet Mignon? Filet Mignon is the most tender part of the cow. It's extremely hard to cook a filet bad. Even if you forget the steak and happen to cook it more than well done, it's pretty TENDER! Also, in my opinion, if you Happen to over cook a filet, it will be Tender! Hard to go wrong when cooking a filet. Also, just because filet is the most tender part, not always the most flavorful.
Wonder if they would let you order 2 lunch specials... Imagine soup and salad, sliced filet with roasted potatoes mushrooms and onions plus chicken with green beans, cheesecake and key lime pie! That would be a feast for only $58
I know this is an older video but thought it's worth mentioning in case anyone is reading. Gallagher's was just caught faking an "A" food safety rating when they have a "C". A "C" rating is egregious, it's as low as you can get before being shut down. No one should patronize a restaurant with a "C" rating, especially not one that lies about it, no matter how good the steak is.
That lunch would easily be over $100 in Seattle. I can't believe that low price for three (minus the potatoes) delicious courses! Thanks UA--if I ever get to NYC I'm there!
I should point out that if you get the $29 sliced filet mignon lunch special it comes with roasted potatoes and those are excellent. Definitely check it out if you ever visit NYC!
That clip of the kid with the HAT on his head was a real throwback classic of "The Soprano's". TONY - "Take that hat off they don't serve hotdogs here". 😂 🔛 😂 BTW - Is the Gallagher's in the Atlantic City casino (ie; Golden Nugget ?) offering this same $29 lunch special ?!? Many Thanks Yo ! 👉 🥩 🔍. 💯
Coming in April for 3 days. I'll be trying out Gallagher's for the lunch special for sure. I'm Canadian so I'm paying 35% more with the exchange rate but it still seems like a good deal.
The "healthiest" and most nutrient dense thing on your plate is the steak. I always chuckle when youtubers say "healthy vegetables". Anyway, good stuff, fun video and informative.
I enjoy your style of critique, it lacks the harshness of so many food critics. I often joke when I hear a criticism, if only one could turn their critical eye upon themselves.
Well done UA. Very detailed and very informative. You go to some great places. Keep up the great work! Happy New Year! Looking forward to your next review.

Yes it's one of my favorite lunch specials in NYC. Glad my video was useful!
Wow. $29 lunch set menu in a steak house seems amazing. Also I find cute your “waiting” video shots.😊

Glad you're enjoying the content! I'll keep doing my best!
This is a great steakhouse that hasn’t been reviewed as often as it deserves. Thanks for this! It was my grandfather’s go-to place in the 1930s-60s
Thanks for sharing your family's connection to the place. It's a very good steakhouse and I definitely wanted to let people know about it!
