Season 1 deffo has one or two slightly rough moments, but Karl Urban is legit such perfect casting that it never bothers me, and the accent is near perfect season 2 onward I reckon
His accent has gotten so much better since season 1, if a bit exaggerated.
Considering how much they change characters, idk why they just didn’t change Butcher where he’s a Kiwi or at least Aussie instead of Brit so it’s easier for Karl Urban.

Ricky's argument about religion vs science is unbeatable.
He's making really good points. I died laughing when I first saw this scene. If Billy wasn't already my favorite, that cemented him.
No Butcher doesnt know what hes talking about. God pretty much allowed Man to make a choice and that choice started with Adam and Eve who chose to defy Him which became known as the Original Sin which we all have to bear. With that being said we are given a choice we choose the path of life or the path of knowledge. Only one path leads to God. Jesus made the sacrifice to free the souls righting the wrong from Adam and Eve Original Sin. But the caveat after Jesus sacrifice we still have to choose to acknowledge Jesus as our savior and try to live our life from His teachings that was imparted to us which is to be better then what we were before and share his teaching with others.
He just disrespected Christianity and now he's your favorite character but I'm sure if it was lgbtq it would be a different story 💀

I am a hardcore atheist.
Most of the time we don't talk about God because we both know where each other stands.
But one time he asked me what I would do if God ever decided to show himself to the world and prove his existence.
I said, "You first, what would you do if it's undeniably proven that God isn't real to the point even the Pope says he isn't real".
My mate shook his head, "I don't need to, I know for a fact he is real" meaning he's not even willing to entertain his own proposed exercise.
So I just roll my eyes and said, "God could come down from Heaven, prove his existence... and if that happened billions of people would suddenly believe in him".
My mate nodded, "Good"
"But I wouldn't" I couldn't.
"What? But... why? He'd be right there!" My mate replied, shocked.
"I'd believe he exists... but I wouldn't believe in him; why would I believe in a God who offers eternal damnation if you don't believe in him... sounds like he's got an ego to me... why would I believe in a God who kills millions every year thanks narural disasters and sickness... sounds like he likes killing people... why would I believe in a God, who only cares about humanity, so long as humanity follows his rules, otherwise he floods the joint... sounds like a control freak... God is not about love, God is not about forgiveness... God is about God... he's only interested in himself so what possible benefit would there be in me being friends with him?"
Sin is what causes most natural disasters and death. Also, God is fully aware that most of the world doesn't truly believe in Him, as there are even many self-proclaimed Christians who don't truly follow Him. God warns about how He will allow the world to end, in the book of Revelations, but if He really only kept the world around to follow Him, most of it would be dead already. God gives us much time and opportunity to make that choice if we like, as He also gave us free will. Also please keep this in mind: would you rather end life returned to ths ground, essentially ceasing to exist, or would you rather take the chance that you can have all the pleasures of heaven for eternity? Is there really anything to lose by choosing to follow Him, even if He wasn't real? You'd at least go out by taking that risk if you didn't fully believe in Him.

If you don't believe in them, then you should really consider how credible yours is, and that should also provide a better understanding of why other people don't believe in your particular brand of faith.

People believe in religion because of the indoctrination from a young age or at low point in their lives. In the past, religion was used to cover more areas of our lives, but we now have more advanced and intricate forms of government, science, and a variety of communities for people to join.
Religion was never necessary, but it was a useful tool. In modern times it is archaic and is holding us as a species back.

Exactly. It’s called free will. Bad things happen because someone CHOSE to do something bad which cascades into other horrible events.
For instance: a gunshop owner CHOOSES to sell a gun illegally. That customer then decides to do something bad with said gun BECAUSE of the gun store owner’s bad action.

If God didn’t give us free will, we’d just be puppets on invisible strings.

Saying it is not allowed acting or not but it’s obvious that if the actor doesn’t agree about what the character he is acting as says then it’s a lot less than actually believing it, God doesn’t punish by what he hears, and doesn’t punish people for what they say, it’s in their hearts whether they meant to say it like that and God knows that. (Also I’m mentioning God as “He” because I’m a Muslim and the non-binary pronoun in the Arabic language is the same as the male pronoun)

In context, it shows how Butcher needs to move on with his life and drop his obsession with his wife's death. He's just getting into a deeper and deeper cycle of despair. His comments reflect that.
