This worked great for me. Had this sprayer new in box in my garage for almost 2 years before my first use, used it once and threw it right in the trash. Decided to look up some solutions, found your video and it worked perfectly. Thank you!

Like you said, I feel like this is the worst Ryobi product I own. Looking forward to giving this simple mod a try.

Thank you! It worked. I bet the last person didn't clean it and clogged the filter. Works awesome now?

I removed my filter and replaced it with a pressure washer soap filter now it works awesome

That's the wire mesh filters, right? Doesn't it shoot too much liquid out?

@@CarlexDIY Every now and then it will spurt a bit but generally i get a nice consistent fog with it.

I recommend starting small and test, then add more as needed. If the slit/hole you make is too big then you'll just get a big squirt and it wont really mist well.

Did you ever put a different filter on? I just cut mine to get a better fog before it barely sprayed thanks.

I looked into a few, like small engine fuel filters. The mesh type allows too much to pass thru and the other type is similar to the one we already have. So defeats the purpose.

Probably be good to replace the filter with a stone filter from an aquarium store

I'm going to look into it. I've never messed with any of those fish tank filters. Thanks!

Isn't a stone filter the same as a 2 stroke fuel filter?

Just got mine a few days ago and right out of the box exact same issue. Especially with pesticides that increase the viscosity of the fluid.
I tried removing the filter and it really throws the fluid but with much less atomization. Would you did looks more like a happy medium.

Yes, I noticed after i did a few too many holes. it squirting and not what I wanted ,so I glued a few of them shut. Are you able to add the filter back?

@@CarlexDIY Mine was squirting even before I cut a few slits with just water. I did two on opposite sides of the filter. Definitely helped. But it still seems intermittent at the half tank level and I really don’t like how it needs to be kept level or tilted up. Most of the plants I want to fog are low to the ground so I need to tilt down. I like the idea and convenience of a battery powered fogger for garden use. Also how light weight it is. But for now it needs to work at least a little better than it does.

Can you just replace it with a 2 stroke fuel filter?

    • @CarlexDIY

Probably depending on which type. I think the mesh filters let too much fluid pass thru and you won't get atomization. It will just spurt out and finish your talk fast.

What I found is the the insect killer is oil based and that the oil was plugging up the filter, going to try an aquarium filter. Like you worst Ryobi product made.

Is the aquarium filter more porous? I will probably look into that.
