Really great and easy tutorial, thank you so much! I've been looking through a few tutorials, but the results all looked too messy. Yours looks super clean!
hi, thank you for making such an easy to follow video in under 3 minutes! one question: could you let me know what the measurements of that 3 point tool you made for the ruffle spacing? thanks! :) edit: silly me i rewatched the video and got them hehe, thanks again
Thanks for watching! It sounds like you got the measurements you were looking for, but to confirm for anyone else who may be seeking clarification: The template has three rows of dots and the dots are marked 1 1/2” apart. The template is 2 1/2” tall. One row of dots is marked along the center and then there is a row marked on top and bottom about 1/2” down. Happy making, everyone!
Did you say horse hair? What is that? Did you sew the neckband to the edge that you've sewn? Or the cut edge? How did you sew the neckband on? It went fast and there were no close-ups. :/
Could the width of the ruff be even wider than pictured here? Smaller ruffs don't flatter my neck and I thought having a huge ruff would flatter my neck better.
Hi I’m thinking of using this tutorial but I want the edge of the collar to be a different colour so I was thinking of using bias tape would I stick it on the same time as the horsehair braid or would I attach it separately?
Me, thinking I'm clever: I'm just going rip my fabric width-wise rather than trying to cut a lengthwise strip that long that straight. Goes back to watch the video again: that's exactly what she did. duh.
Okay, having done a toile, I can say that I really wish I had finished the edges of those strips. I thought, “they’re going to be covered by the neckband so I don’t need to” I forgot that I’m stitching into a raw edge to hold it to the neckband. If you make this, take my advice: break out the rolled hem foot and finish that edge.
I loved this tutorial, my cat - who is about to get a ruff... Not so much 😉
AYEEE i came here just so I can make my black cat a ruff to replicate the black cat paintings

wait where'd the neck band come from? Did you make it or did you just have that?
This tutorial helped so much, but….. would this same tutorial work for a larger width to make this style as a skirt? I’m still insanely new to sewing…
im a year late did tjis work for u
Gracias, me fue de mucha utilidad.🙂
What is horsehair? And is there like a substitute

what kind of fabric is this
I didn't get the swing cause you did it on speed up mode😐
Whats the name of the "ribbon" type material that you pinned into the fold of material? Great video, thank you
horse hair
it's also known as 'crin'
Hey, this is great but I want to make a vinyl ruff.... Any pointers for how this would differ with that as material would be greatly appreciated!

How long did it take to make? Hard to get an estimate with the video being sped up at points.
❤

It looks like the one from royal high
Got lost at the under and over. Video went too fast and is too low res. Bummer.
