They already have a Delta Emerald. It's called the delta episode. That's what that was, they skipped the third version and just included it directly in the first two. We also already have a Star, it's called USUM. It's also worth noting that there were two scrapped Kalos games, an XY2 or USUM-style reimagining's were and are much more likely than Z ever was.
@@Missingno_Miner You kind of missed the point there I think. They probably mean like... we need proper sequel games that change the whole game and story and not game + short DLC. You could argue USUM is that but it's also trying really hard to be SM + DLC with the bigger changes being pretty much just minigames.
@@MusicComet You are the one who missed *my* point. Or more likely given your rather absurd claim that USUM's bigger changes are "pretty much just" minigames, you're being deliberately obtuse about it. ORAS and USUM drastically change the story of the original Ruby and Sapphire and the original Sun and Moon respectively, they aren't "gAmE+sHoRt DlC" in any sense of the word. A major rewrite of the story is much, much bigger than minigames.
@@Missingno_Miner Ok, first of all, why are you so rude? I wasn't even angry or trying to be mean, uncalled for dude. So now to my response: A "major" rewrite that only happens in the last half of the story which until then was exactly the same? I can't speak on ORAS since I haven't played it, just heard things. In USUM you get things like mantine surf, photo club, rocket episode (that one is kinda big tbh), it feels like pretty much it which like... is that a lot to you? Because that seems like just minigames to me, personally at least. It's not like any other "sequels" did any better on thay front but I think we can agree that we'd like to see a sequel where the drastic changes are very apparent like map changes, completely different story and new pokemon. Something like seeing the region in ruin after we saw it beeing untouched in previous games and you can see how it affects old and new faces. The type of story that continues from where it left off/expands years later instead of replacing just the final goal and leaving everything else the same. When you compare stuff like this to other game sequels, you kinda get the feeling it's moreso bonus content rather than "fresh" "new" content that changes both the gameplay and story drastically and doesn't just touch one area and everything else, like I said before, stays the exact same. The changes don't apply to the core game so you can easily strip away the bonus stuff and see that it's the same game sold to you again at the same price too. It's not a new journey, it's a new look. And I don't even hate SM/USUM, those games are very dear to me, but saying that they're proper sequels is not true.
I still remember this as well! There was even art of a grown-up Lillie that was with the Galdion art as well. So I really hoped it was true, but as we all know...
I love your videos man! The way you tell concise details keeps me engaged , hard to explain, but these are really REALLY well made, big fan! Ah Pokémon Stars, as a fan of stars and what they represent often that could have been my potential new favorite ultimate Pokémon game. Oh well, ever since Pokémon did Black 2 and White 2, they just fully devoted to defy our expectations of what a “third” game would be: no Gray, no Z, and again with no Stars 😂 I totally agree what Ultra excelled in with more content, more regional dex, and overall more definitive content, the new rewritten story over the original was the only meh addition overall.
My issues with USUM are mainly that they aren’t one game (because money), that they don’t really make that many (significant) changes to the main story, and that they cut off Lillie’s story (as mentioned here). Rainbow rocket is great, but it only really happens many hours in. For returning players, it can be underwhelming for a good portion of the playthrough.
No, I'd argue it was better in my opinion. If anything, it actually gave Necrozma a backstory, fixed some of the story issues with the original games, added in 100+ older Pokemon into the games, etc. Sorry, but I disagree.
@@IronBundleTrainerLiam I disagree, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon felt more like lazy cashgrabs and not third versions for Sun and Moon, USUM also ruined parts of the story so now we have unnecessary characters like the ultra recon squad and lusamine is worse than how she was in Sun and Moon.
@@piranhalettuce The Ultra Recon Squad helped explain Necrozma's purpose in the games, as well introducing the idea of parallel universes! Plus, how was Lusamine "Worse" exactly? What, just because she's not fully a heartless monster in this version like in the OG versions of the games?! You do know the main reason for that was because she was heavily influenced by UB-01's toxins, right? And even then, while she's more caring in USUM, she's still obsessed with keeping things beautiful forever, and still has that Frozen Pokemon collection because of that obsession! She also thinks she should be the one to protect the region, when clearly that's not the case.
Hey a heads up, if you have like a computer that can run the citra 3ds emulator there is a fan romhack of pokemon star out there It's obnoxiusly filled with 2016 memes and it's kinda discontinued but the story is pretty much done until the champion fight? One thing that I would've loved for USUM would be if the player was part of the Ultra Recon Squad or at least from the Ultra Wormholes. Think about it, imagine if the player saw their home get destroyed by Necrozma and workers with adult Gladion and Lillie to get back home, save Nebby and stops the team that released Necrozma. But what team would've released Necrozma? Team Rainbow Rocket of course. Like imagine if we had to actually have a big boss battle with Ultra-Lusamine! Absolutely amazing!

Mostly because i want them to be friends or to know elio and selene, as well to see a sleepover picture of them, elio and selene (maybe also including their usum forms too?) And lilie too.
every time i hear pokemon games release dates i can never believe them they always feel more recent then they actually are... man how time flys by
Really hoping that they eventually make a Delta Emerald, Stars, or Z on the switch 🙏
A group called EXR are making their own Pokémon Z, nothing about the other two though
V-tuber GatorEx was ahead of its time
I still remember this as well! There was even art of a grown-up Lillie that was with the Galdion art as well. So I really hoped it was true, but as we all know...
Aha I remember these rumors. I was so hyped just imagining what Alola would look like in the HD graphics of the Switch then.
Ah the innocence before we saw how cheap Pokemon's switch graphics were
I love your videos man!
Ultra Sun and Moon were the biggest disappointments going. We were truly spoiled with Black and White 2.
I was so excited for that fake dropped image on 4chan of a variety of crazy yet possible new Pokémon silhouettes, all color coded.
I still find the name Pokemon Stars really stupid because the sun is a fuckin star
Checkmate, Liberal. Stars is plural. The Sun is a singular, massive star. 'Stars' can refer to exploring the 'stars', such as the galaxy and space.
Right?
My issues with USUM are mainly that they aren’t one game (because money), that they don’t really make that many (significant) changes to the main story, and that they cut off Lillie’s story (as mentioned here). Rainbow rocket is great, but it only really happens many hours in. For returning players, it can be underwhelming for a good portion of the playthrough.
Only the whole anime lille and the lilie face on the floor of the pokémon center
The fellas who predicted Ultra Necrozma are mad lads
I remember everyone wanted a switch alola game so bad
Im still mad that it never happened
A sun and moon switch version would have been amazing
Its a shame we didnt get a sequel to Sun and Moon. Especially when what we did get is just Sun and Moon but worse
No, I'd argue it was better in my opinion. If anything, it actually gave Necrozma a backstory, fixed some of the story issues with the original games, added in 100+ older Pokemon into the games, etc. Sorry, but I disagree.
@@NomadNobi Let's just agree to disagree then, okay?
"would we have really wanted a 3ds game on the switch?"
well, luckily we know the reception to that if you just look at sword and shield lmaoo
Honestly, a 3DS game on the Switch would have had better frames and fidelity than half of S&V.
I remember Stars being rumored and stuff. I didnt really know whether to believe it or not tho. Also USUM was planned to be on the switch.
Honestly
Pokemon eclipse sounds way cooler
I never heard Pokémon Stars rumor was brought up, I did heard Pokémon Z discussion was brought up years ago.
To be fair, x and y were also supposed to have sequels but due the poor sales of b2w2 before gen 6 the idea was scrapped
My guy Gladion in the thumbnail smiled
Hey a heads up, if you have like a computer that can run the citra 3ds emulator there is a fan romhack of pokemon star out there
It's obnoxiusly filled with 2016 memes and it's kinda discontinued but the story is pretty much done until the champion fight?
The story is a sequel to usum
If you feel like playing the gen 7 games again, why not play through a new experience
3:16 bruh i thought that was someone's foot on lillys face 😂
im waiting for pokemon gun
The alola games were so good story wise but it was so overhated it hurts
I started liking it because of Faba and now it’s one of my fav games
"Pokemon Eclipse" would have made more sense
I personally never got why people thought Pokemon would be releasing a Switch game less than a year after the Switch released. To date a New main series Pokemon game has never come out within the same year that a new console comes out.
Is it just me that thought the name stars was a dumb one? The sun is already a star!
I remember my dad once sending me the trailer of the Pokémon Star ROM hack somehow thinking it was an official game.
3:47 me when pokemon stars
RUclips must really not want the story of Pokemon Stars to come out and take the limelight away from stuff like Brilliant Stars and Team Star because for some reason this video won't load passed like 30 seconds for me no matter what I do lmao
I miss you being in the videos. Great video tho! Amazing how much info you pull up for these that took place so long ago!
We were done so dirty with USUM
Everyone: *Expecting Pokémon Stars for the Switch*
Game Freak: How 'bout No!?!
PLEASE I WANT THIS
Ultra sun and moon should have been combined into one pokémon star game.
There is still a rom hack called Pokemon Star, its just not the game people expected it to be.
I wish Pokémon stars would have been made it would be like a sequel to sun and moon, with new characters new story and of course a lot of brand new Pokémon
Like a new legendary representing the stars, some new alien Pokémon, new ultra beasts of course and more new Pokémon from alola
It would have maid generation 7 a lot bigger
Woah! That was unexpected! After all this years hahaha, thank you for the nice words!
The new Pokémon sequel we really needed was Pokémon gun
One thing that I would've loved for USUM would be if the player was part of the Ultra Recon Squad or at least from the Ultra Wormholes.
Think about it, imagine if the player saw their home get destroyed by Necrozma and workers with adult Gladion and Lillie to get back home, save Nebby and stops the team that released Necrozma. But what team would've released Necrozma? Team Rainbow Rocket of course.
Like imagine if we had to actually have a big boss battle with Ultra-Lusamine! Absolutely amazing!
i thought this is going to be talking about the pokemon stars romhack but this is still an interesting watch! would still like to get the romhack covered someday, though. each clip i've seen from that romhack gets weirder and more confusing than the last
Sun and moon didn't need a sequel
what is the music playing in the second half of the video 4:20
Gladion remix
if they remade BDSP in gen 7, i bet they would've been better
