Nice historical perspective on a variety of brands. Tractors of the 40's and 50's were in common use when I was growing up. The "big" tractors of the mid 60's were real beasts in their day.
A nicely diversified showing of all colors! Our local show is this coming weekend, Oliver is the feature! I'm pumped! Oliver guys always put on a great show. Sadly I only have meadow green plows to show, will take Red and Orange tractors.
Hello from Tasmania.that’s a great show a bit of everything. The shows down here are usually over powered by common red tractors . Or grey one’s they call grey fleas because they’re always in swarms. Thanks Kerry.
Thank you Ross very nice tour . I would love to get on the 1955 let it warm up and crack that 100 hp. about three quarters open and feel the ground move like our old 1800 with the pump turned up a bit . the good old days. Thank you .
I love those Tractors!! But the Massey Harris 44 Special was the first Tractor my dad bought...and the first Tractor I drove.... But that Oliver 880 Diesel was the series one of the bunch!! Don't ya know!! 😊
I love the stories and my condolences to the neighbor that passed on. Very cool to see his 620 displayed in his honor. This is what a large part of the fair has become for me, classic iron and the stories behind them.
A great collection of local tractors and what great stores to go with them. I know people spend big money for a 730 diesel high crop or first and last serial numbers, but to me the real value is the story behind each tractor. That's why I decided to collect local tractor that has a story that can be told.
Nice fair show with all those neat looking tractors, love it. My oldest son has a JD 4020, I used it a couple of years ago to do hay, when my youngest son and my tractor went down, runs and looks great! That MF 1155 is one sweet looking tractor, nice. Thanks for sharing this great fair tractors, have a good afternoon.
Great video Ross. I love all of the ole tractors and the stories that go with them. A lot of old horsepower there. Thank you for sharing. Really enjoyed it.
Thank you for taking the time to introduce us to so many interesting tractors. It’s a wonderful thing the knowledge and honesty you show for your community and us out there who appreciate your hard efforts. Have a wonderful day 😊
Thats pretty interesting on that scorched Farmall M. It looks a whole lot better then my 450 when it burnt. It took a couple of years but its back in service 😊
That's a nice show. I have a sickle mower for my g that i had on for a show last year. Either I'll let the cultivators on for this year or put the plow on
Great video, and great turnout Ross! And looks like fantastic weather to boot! I'd also like to find the JD MT that I grew up driving on the farm. My grandpa bought it new, and in 73 dad traded it on a new Allis 200. I'd know it for sure because after Mom broke off about the 3rd gate post with the axles, my grandpa torched them off! I drove it a lot loading roto bales, and hauling in hay loads. I use to pull a 2 row rotary hoe with it also. It had a 2 bottom plow, but I never saw it pull that. With the thermo siphon cooling system, it would over heat on the hoe, I can't imagine it working very long on a plow! Looking forward to part 2 of your fair Ross!
For the 2 lungers the 20 & 30 series were simply the best in my opinion, I have my grand dad's non styled "B", when she ran, she ran like a champ and could do a lot more than what people would give it credit for so, even the non styled series were awesome. I used to have a JD 3010D wide front, was overhauled years ago and was basically a 3020D. That Ford 871 Gold SoS is a demonstrator. I had a Ford 881 SoS Golden demonstrator, you can tell by the serial number. Many hated the SoS transmissions but, they were ahead of their time to be honest. If maintained properly, they were solid. Only drawback to those old Fords, they hydraulic systems sucked. You'd have to tie the lift arms down to the drawbar to put pressure into the system to the a loader to raise and or other hyd cylinders to work properly.
Thanks for the tour. We just got back from our favorite show in ND. I likely won't be at any other shows this year, with all the weather issues, I'm just not up to it.
Great tractors and have great provenance for many of them. I hope you passed out the entry form for next year to each of the tractors there. Encourage the participants to bring back what they have this year and another tractor along with it. There has to be many special tractors around the area that the owner has no way to haul them and driving them would be marginal. Recruit people with good trailers and willing to volunteer to bring those special tractors. What would be neat would be to record each owner and their story about what they have at the show, then along with a photo of the tractor and write the provenance. Make a booklet of the 2024 show. Maybe for 25 get some high school or home from college to visit each tractor collectors collections and photo/video. Hey, there would be a good CD, "Tractors of Jackson County" I bet the high school has a journalism class where a couple of kids would get great experience. You do know that you probably inherited the position of being the head(less) person running the show.
If I remember right, the MC and 40 had a smaller engine (which continued on in the 320 and 330) than the 420 and 430. I believe they were 100.5ci, whereas the 420 and 430 were 113ci I think
It is my understanding that rollamatic front end was quite the feature in it's day. Prevented unruly quick twists of the front end up through the steering wheel on uneven ground(groundhog holes).
Mostly there on the Deeres, to be clear the 420 is a more powerful M/40/320 they all had the same motor the 420 was bigger bore, it also added live PTO. The 720 was the big seller in the 20 series row-crops with the 620 being behind by a couple thousand, of course I think the 420 outsold both of those because of all the variations(my grandpa being one of the 420 buyers).
The M and 40 didn’t have water pump. The 420 and 430 had water pump. So the blocks were way different. We have a 420 crawler with the Henry loader and backhoe. Rear cool looking but absolutely not a heavy enough crawler for the setup
Cool. I have a 440I gas with the JD 71 loader and Henry backhoe. My dad bought it from K&W Equipment in Manchester Michigan. The Village of Manchester bought it new.
The surprising of this tractor show , my oliver, was a rowcrop 66 wide front end type tractor is not on display here, question, are they rare??? Thanks p.s. my tractor was a 4 cylinder thanks BigAl California
That 880 diesel standard was my friends tractor and when he died I got the opportunity to buy an Oliver super 88 wheat land diesel from his collection before aumann had the auction. You can see the tractor that I bought in my community page on my channel.
Thanks for tour of the tractors, good looking machines.
Thanks for watching!
Love the old tractors.

Excellent video Friend.
Thank you!

Great video. Love the backstories.
Glad you enjoyed it!

It sure is!
Going through all those tractors bring me back to childhood do miss it
It’s always a good time!
Thanks for taking the time to share the stories of these tractors! If you have a Cockshutt I’d like to see it sometime!
Hopefully I can go over and get that in the next few weeks!
Thank you Ross very nice tour . I would love to get on the 1955 let it warm up and crack that 100 hp. about three quarters open and feel the ground move like our old 1800 with the pump turned up a bit . the good old days. Thank you .

That was enjoyable. Thanks

Thanks for watching Anthony!
Thanks for taking us along Ross!

Looks like all manufacturers were well represented. I know you do a lot behind the scenes work there thank you.
I like it
Enjoy Mr. Ross! You could have put it over 100 easy!
Thanks!

Thanks for the tour! My B that was bought by my Grandpa new is back running after several years to.
Great tour Ross, and a lot of pride showing from all who are sharing. That 60 stand as an evolution of the D is fascinating

Good video Ross!
Thats pretty interesting on that scorched Farmall M. It looks a whole lot better then my 450 when it burnt. It took a couple of years but its back in service 😊

Really enjoyed hearing your knowledge on the tractors. Great video
That's a lot of dam nice tractors, thanks for sharing
Nice selection, ❤ it!
Thanks for the tour, Ross! Some real neat items there, and good stories.
Real good showing of tractors at a county. And it really impressive how much you know the story's that go with them.
Thanks much for sharing and the story behind most of them
That's a nice show. I have a sickle mower for my g that i had on for a show last year. Either I'll let the cultivators on for this year or put the plow on
You're lucky to get 15 to 20 tractor it sucks because I enjoy that

Thanks for the tour. We just got back from our favorite show in ND. I likely won't be at any other shows this year, with all the weather issues, I'm just not up to it.
You have the best tractors at your fair, mine just has millions of identical farmall ms and maybe an odd 8n or the like.
Love the video Ross

I figured there wasn’t much different than bore size.
Glad enough people care about older tractors and implements to participate. Are there any dealers that bring new tractors to display at your fair?
It is my understanding that rollamatic front end was quite the feature in it's day. Prevented unruly quick twists of the front end up through the steering wheel on uneven ground(groundhog holes).
It was supposed to make a smoother ride for sure
Mostly there on the Deeres, to be clear the 420 is a more powerful M/40/320 they all had the same motor the 420 was bigger bore, it also added live PTO. Wow what a turnout! I wish ours would be that big around here. But sadly, we’ll get maybe 10 tractors.
Ross, have you ever been to Western Minnesota steam threshers reunion? I think you would really like it
No, but I’ve heard good things about it!
@@rosstheoliverman you would like it

What made the M catch on fire?
I have a 35 that’s my loader tractor. The parts book and service manual does differentiate between the two but really I could not see any difference.
It’s probably just a newer vintage
😄😄😄👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The surprising of this tractor show , my oliver, was a rowcrop 66 wide front end type tractor is not on display here, question, are they rare??? Thanks p.s. my tractor was a 4 cylinder thanks BigAl California
Wide front was definitely more unusual in this area.

The burnt farmall has rubber gas lines still😂
Do You see many As or super As in your area
There’s a few, but mostly H&M’s
Are you in Ohio?
This is at the Jackson county fair in Indiana
@@dankreoger611 Got ya. There is a Jackson County fair here in Ohio, and I believe it is going right now too.
