Considering Screamy sets up voice boxes being damaged, and Bee got to see D tortured right in front of him, if they go the mute route I am going to be f*cking ✨devastated✨ Setting up Bee's situation at the very beginning also justified and endears us to his talkativeness. Any other movie I'd be, okay, he talks a lot, but in this I'm just "you go get your social activity boo" He's also vital to the plot. The plot wouldn't have happened if he didn't have energon backups. He has some wonderul quiet moments. "I am. . . . Speechless. " "I can't believe it, I mean I just saw it right in front if me, but I can't believe it." "D, stay down. _Please."_

Poor guy was going through it in sublevel 50 till Orion and D showed up, aka probably the most social stimulation he’s had in far too long a time to remember. Understandably he came on a little strong at first, but during the adventure he was just happy to be with people again. And it makes sense why Optimus wants to have Bee at his side: being one of the group who learned the truth of their world, and probably to teach him a thing or two so he doesn’t go knife-crazy on another room full of innocents 😅
