I lived in McAllen Texas for 57 years, we are a very conservative city, we don’t have homeless people in tents here, no large crowds of looting, no weirdos dressing up like what you see in other cities at Walmart, yes we are near the border, but it’s very safe here, of course there is crime but it’s every where else in the states..our youngers that work at HEB, fast foods, are very courteous, polite, they don’t yell at customers, because we are Hispanic dominated, families here still believe in discipline of their kids,The plaza mall has grown since it opened in the 70s, we are courteous and respectful of each other, mainly Catholics, Christian’s dominated..the driving has gotten worse though that I can’t lie about..I love being close to everything, it’s mainly hot here year round..Mcallen is a great place to be, and you have to drive to the beach or San Antonio to have fun, honestly there isn’t much to here but it’s cost living so no the salary is not high like in other states..anyways that’s about it ..
@@LivinginMcAllenTX well yes there are many hidden gems around here, I won’t deny that but what I’m saying is when it comes to taking a vacation, people rather travel elsewhere lol
I moved to 10th and Trenton since before any of those stores. Now a bit too crowded in my opinion. Also to get to airport it is better to take Bicentennial.
What job market? There is no market u eathet in medical or work for the cartel thats it dont waste ur time downgrading moving there smh the valley is a massive downgrade from where ever u are coming from its trash there
Which is the high end area with wider roads, green lawns, 2500 sq ft house, 1-2 acre lot, all for 300k. Possible? Is it safe? Do you have higher petty crime and crime against women?

Yes, and I also like to take 23rd to the airport.
I now live in Tres Lagos but I used to live in the Crossings. It’s my childhood suburb since we moved here in 2011 and I miss living there.
What did you like about it, and what do you like about Tres Lagos?
@@LivinginMcAllenTX I liked the park and the crossings feel more like home. Tres Lagos has more amenities and i especially enjoy the food trucks.
If the builders could only figure out how to build a proper kitchen in their homes. So help me I’ve never seen anything like it.
You can always go semi-custom, and get what you want.
How is the job market in McAllen, TX?
Depends on your line of work, but most of is lower paid jobs 😅
@@SK-lf1cr How lower are you talking about?😂😂

If you work in healthcare there are plenty of opportunities, and also the school district.
They’ve never really figured out how to do an expressway system in the Rio Grande Valley. It’s infuriating.

I'd have to check out specific locations, Probably not 1-2 acres under 300
Is the border dangerous?
Only if you aren't Mexican..
The border itself or the other side. I have always felt safe here.
Not at all, just don’t do anything stupid that would cause a problem
I’ve lived here about 8 years now. If you don’t get involved in bad activities, you are safe.
Crime rate is lower than average in America. Very low.
Shoulda gone to Balboa off of 29th instead. There’s your “pocket” neighborhoods.
😂😂
