    •  2 года назад +1

      @syfman6 2 года назад

      @ It was already baked when you got it, good one. Lol. I'm glad I didn't put my my guitar in the oven. 🤣🤣

    •  2 года назад +1

      @@syfman6 yes, it's just a video edit in the beginning, as the body wouldn't even fit into the oven.
      Many guitar part shops offer roasted parts, usually maple necks, and they use a special oven for that.
      However, I did see a Luthier bake pine wood in a household oven to get the moisture out and it was noticably lighter afterwards. But that's because it was pine from a hardware store, not intended for building guitars

    •  7 месяцев назад +1

      the colors of the pickup wires might be different, but you can use wiring diagrams that come up when googling for "Fender Jaguar wiring", e.g. this one www.fralinpickups.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Jaguar-Diagram.jpg

      Several hours, but in a proper "wood torrefying" oven (high temperature, no oxygen). Sadly, my kitchen oven wasn't even large enough to fit a jaguar body :s

  • @garfield4863

    Where’d you get all the electronics?

    •  2 года назад

      Multiple guitar shops (i think Philadelphia Luthier being one of them), but also electronics stores like mouser.com

    • @garfield4863
      @garfield4863 2 года назад

      @ how do you know what parts you need?

    •  2 года назад

      @@garfield4863 By looking at a jaguar wiring diagram, and by combining it it with the wiring diagram of an Ibanez AZ.
      So e.g. i would need the switches that a Jaguar has on the upper horn, and otherwise it's the parts of any other HSS guitar. And then I added this active buffer to it (which requires some understanding about electronics, mostly about how electricity flows)

    how many times did you polish the guitar? cause it should look like the bass you're playing (which is super cool btw) meaning it should be very reflective, looks a little dull imho
    the video is very cool, i didnt mind hearing you talking over the video but i enjoyed this anyways, keep em coming!
    oh and the music video was amazing, gg

    •  3 года назад +1

      I'm glad you liked the video :)
      Clear coats are my big struggle. I need to apply the clear a bit more wet next time. I was doing too thin coats (because the usual advice is "only apply thin coats"). I think that was my main mistake.
      But I think over time I'll manage to get really glossy results, with more practice.

    • @greggoso600
      @greggoso600 3 года назад

      @ nonono its not a matter of how many clear coats you put on the guitar, after like the second one the instrument will be as glossy as it gets with clear coats, but im talking about the polishing: im no expert so i could be very wrong but im pretty sure you should polish the guitar like at least 3-4 times before seeing the result which should look like a mirror almost

    •  3 года назад +1

      @@greggoso600 that is also true. Each step is very important or else it'll never be as glossy as a factory made guitar.
      When the clear is too thin, then it's too easy to accidentally sand through during the sanding and polishing.
      And each coat is super thin, so it needs lots of layers to build up a thick enough clear coat before proceeding.
      Online some people say that they spray on even 3 full cans of clear on one guitar. Which sounds a lot, but it's probably still just about half a millimeter of clear.

    • @greggoso600
      @greggoso600 3 года назад

      @oh i see your point now, yes of course screwing up the clear coats is not what you want to do when wet sanding and polishing! i cant help you with that unfortunately, still i really enjoyed the video and hope you'll make more builds going forward :)

    •  3 года назад +1

      @@greggoso600 there will be many more actually. And I hope the glossyness should get better each time (I just need to put lots of patience into it) :)

    My POS jaguar kit came with plastic not actual metal chrome coated plates...mine is junk part!! I can't even use fender locking tuning heads unless I drill out the holes in the headstock more its pure shit! Your kit looks like a helluva lot better quality

    •  3 года назад +2

      Well, it would be worse if the tuner holes were too large. Drilling is easier than filling.
      Maybe you can replace the control plates with metal ones later.
      However, the parts for my Warmoth Jaguar were over 1200$ in total, but it's top quality stuff.
      But inexpensive kits can be fun too, it's hit or miss sometimes

    Just got my The Fret Wire kit. It already has the Jaguar, HSS configuration. I'd like to upgrade the pickups to silver foil (mainly for appearances). This will be quite a challenge since I don't actually play.
