    To me, Jazzmasters and Jaguars always seem outlandish and overengineered in the best possible way. I would love to see this thing just take on an absolutely absurd color scheme. Like hot pink, metallic red, and lime green. Just really call attention the fact that this guitar is something different.

    • @jonnylawless6797

    I would stain it translucent cherry red, it would take the stain very well being a light wood, and the grain would really pop. Coupled with the black pickguard, it would look stunning

  • @TealScarab
    @TealScarab 2 года назад +3

    Seeing how it’s a Jazzmaster, maybe find a way to put the lick on there; hydro dip, paint, poorly printed JPEG, your choice really!!

  • @periurban
    @periurban 2 года назад +16

    Interesting! The only part that doesn't really work for me at the moment is that pick guard material. It's kinda gathered in points where you had to bend it around the curves, and it just looks daft. As for finish/colour, I'd love to see it in some kind of outrageous shocking red. Tidy up the pick guard and the black would work nice.

    • @helojoe92
      @helojoe92 2 года назад +1

      I think the pickguard issue could be solved by doing enough relieve cuts on the backside and then burnishing the edges. That should help to make it conform to the pickguard underneath much nicer!

    • @periurban
      @periurban 2 года назад

      @@helojoe92 I'm not convinced that would solve the issue. It would need to be heat molded or the material would have to be stretched in some other way. It's all good, and I'm sure it'll end up looking great.

    • @helojoe92
      @helojoe92 2 года назад

    I absolutely love jazzmasters. Great vid. I laughed really hard when you said jm people get bent out of shape when people say jm pups are p90s. I have done that lol. I would do 3 tone sunburst with the headstock as is or seafoam green and matching headstock. Brown tort pickguard is a must to complete the look.

  • @ThatMattGoodMusic

  • @DarioVarasG
    @DarioVarasG 2 года назад +1

    Yellow would be an interesting choice. There isn't many yellow guitars and the few that actually are gravitate towards Jackson/shredder stuff.
    A vintage classic in something like a "banana yellow" resembling the shade of fiesta red, daphne blue, olympic white, etc; would be a killer instrument.

    Dude! Do fake fur!!!!! Lol I'd love that. Or maybe staining if you don't want to get sick of it some day, possibly. I'm not exactly sure what your tastes are.
    If it was more of a Jaguar, I'd say do a light blue/green color, or maybe pink or something bright. But for a JM, I'd say the fur would be hilarious, or staining, like I said before, for something more "mature and classic" lol. Good luck!

    Jaguar spotted fake fur would be hilarious.
    I personally feel a cheap kit like this allows you to do maniacal things that you would never attempt on a regular guitar.
    Another thing that could be fun if you want to lean into the outlandish colour idea is to hydro dip the body with vibrant colors. A psychedelic paint job would be fitting for that body shape.
    But I personally feel fake fur with googly eyes would be attention grabbing. But then again I’m obviously mad.
    Quick edit, what about seeing if you can send electricity through the body in order burn lightning patterns into it. That would be an interesting thing to see as well give people a clear indication of just how crazy dangerous electricity is.

    I don't think you should just stain the body. I really good clear-coted glitter burst would be cool but probably a pain in the arse in your house. So ,I think you should do something weird - what about something like a car-wrap material but made up entirely of postage stamp size porn pictures - that would be hilarious! And it would be funny to see you not mention it at all to get around the RUclips police while describing how you're applying it.

    Hey, seen your video this today and remembered having received a T- style kit at my last birthday. You were adjusting the head plate to your personal taste by sawing and grinding. Now, I was wondering how did you finish the head plate after the last working step ? The neck and head plate is pre-painted with transparent lacquer and after rework its not that case anymore. What is your proposal to complete and to "preserve" it ?

    I'm really itching to get myself a cheap 24 inch scale length guitar. I had hoped there might be a kit out there but they are very few and far between. Is there just not as much demand for a 24 inch scale length guitar? The first guitar I ever struggled to teach myself to play on was a fender mustang my uncle loaned me for a few years about 21 years ago. I didn't know anything about guitars at the time, I just did my best with it, but in retrospect I'm thinking I really dug that scale length without even knowing what scale length was back then.

    Make a true Jazz Lounge Lizard by covering the body in fake lizard skin! 🦎

    Fake fur? I have visions of ZZ Top and their white fur guitars...

    Saw this on a car show once but the mechanics took pages from manga comics and glued them on the body panels of the car. Maybe something like that on the body or pick guard

    I have wanted to build a kit guitar and paint it up like Boba Fetts helmet in ROTJ so....that.

    Would look awesome (or horrific) in Lamborghini green, or Mclaren orange.

    Nothing against Thomann, but you gotta be careful with these kits, mine was ab.so.lute TRASH. Check them thoroughly before building

    Tweed? It'd look great against the black guard.

    Weird idea, whatever finish you put on the body, put a really bright stain on the back of the neck too, like a neon pink, blue or orange?

    That body screams "Hot Pink Fur"....

    You know, I don't see a lot of transparent white finishes. Any idea why that is?
    ... if not, maybe this is a good guitar to find out on.

    I hate the neck of all their kits so is it possible to switch the neck to a 9,5-10 inch neck😅😅😅

    I like the idea of some really cool, outlandish stained colours, but i'm not a fan of that faux leather pickgaurd, it's definitely not my taste at all

    White fur finish with fuzzy dice knobs and the square shiny bits off a disco ball for some kind of accent or inlay somewhere

    One of the little screws for the tuners broke of while attaching one of the tuners. Stuck in the wood now. It looked good though in the box. 😂

    I like your Scottish theme from last time. Perhaps you can paint this guitar like whiskey ? like amber? the humbucker-cover could be make from whiskey-labels. And the pickguard from old whiskey-boxes? I dont know?! just some ideas.

      the tip of the termolo arm could be made like a spigot or tap. i dont know how it calls in english. And the pots could be made from whiskey bottle caps. as a gimmick you could put a cigar inside the guitar.

    Nitro mocha would look good with the grain, maybe worn in places but not relic.

    Built one of these.Just put some better machine heads on it and a thin cover of clear varnish on the body.
    For the money a great guitar
