I absolutely dug this video… this is honestly one of my favorites you’ve created yet. I used to work at a music store and we had a Kurt Cobain jaguar. If I’m being completely honest, it really was a total piece of shit. I started attempting to re-create tone around the same time you uploaded your first video, and of course it was necessary that I find myself a jag. I ended up buying a 1996 vista series jagmaster, let’s just say it does Nirvana better than the majority of jags I’ve heard out there. You may want to check it out at some point they’re fairly affordable and I think it could make for a very interesting video. They come with pair of stock jbs which sound similar to the sups but not 100% its oddly closer to kurts Skystangs.

Very interesting, I myself have a 2013 kc jag (bought new) and I had to do some changes to it.
The neck angle wasn’t right, plus the contact area from the neck with the body wasn’t great, so vibrations dint transfer well between neck and body. The nut had to be replaced by a bone nut, the bridge was replaced for a black abr1 from gotoh with raw brass saddles, plus I replaced the bridge pickup with a dimarzio 59 (I believe that’s the name). After all that it sounds pretty good.
Plus mine is the road worn, so the lacquer is thin and nitro, I believe.

Bro, that's cos, 1-cheaper pickups and 2-long scale neck. Thats the reason your Kurt Cobainsig jag sounds diff. Sound of the guitar is PICK UPS plus Action, long scale v short scale, if you put those PAF pickups on a Kurt jag it'd the real deal.
Its al about pickups, basically no matter what wood you've got, or glass or whatever , a Les Paul and an SG would sound identical. Any squier would sound like a vintage fender with Alnico 5 and 2 pickups.

Interesting to see Kurts set up. It has the deep twangy heavy sound which is perfect for his style. Cool channel I need to study more vids.
Check my patented vertical scallop fretboard. Kurt actually bent the high E or low E off the fretboard on some of his feedback type solos to get different scratchy or buzzy tones. Hendrix carved fret notches on select frets as told by Seymour Duncan to alter pitch. I just evolved it to any string and deeper grooves. The fretcorner can pluck the string for infinite vibrato sustain and extra notes of pulloffs to evolve power chord rhythms.
My uncle Gary Lucas composed Jeff Buckley Grace which is iconic. in fact Jeff does FretCorner vibrato on hallelujah Chicago live solo on high e.
Another cool fact is my uncle played guitar in Cptn. Beefheart which the Melvins are big fans of and they introduced Kurt to them as well as Zappa That inspired Nirvana and there sound / attitude in subtle ways. There’s a lot of unknown Nirvana history out there to learn and share.

its the pots dude, the kurt jag he used had 500k pots i think and the one you have was close to his spec wise, ive owned one too..
the best way to fix the issue is to get the relic version, sell your current one cause you got a shit build... the company did that not you..
the relic ones are different again more exposed wood means more clearer and more of an open tone.. i extra relic my stuff to bring this out

My vintera stang has plastic tuning pegs too. So stylish. Jaguars being so very heavy was a surprise to me when I actually got one. I was able to score a pretty light MIJ one with block inlays but its still heavier than my others.

Hey man, I've got a question. If one speaker blows in a 2x12 combo does the other speaker stop making sound too? So I got my ac30 repaired because it just stopped making sound, there was no pop or anything it just stopped. It still turned on and everything. I had replaced one of the stock greenbacks with an alnico blue btw. After picking the amp up from getting repaired they said I blew the new alnico and they replaced it with another greenback. They didn't give me back the blown speaker I spent over $400 on and didn't help with the questions I had so i'm kind of suspicious. I don't know much about amps and speaker and I wasn't able to find any info online so i thought id try to ask you! Really appreciate any ideas you may have. Thanks anyways & the videos are always great keep it up!

It would have been nice to see if the Fender Signature could have improved something by sanding the finish and painting it with something thinner, doing something about the pickups and swapping the nut. I understand sometimes it isn't even worth it considering the original price that its paid. Still, I am curious. Love the one you modded, pure grunge! I have always wanted to have a nice "Cobained" Jaguar in white or sonic blue. I The player classic HH model is nice, looks and sounds amazing. Some pleople have modded their Jaguar or Mustangs installing some SD P Rails, so you get three pickup sounds (more even if you use out of phase etc sounds), its amazing XD Love your videos man, keep rockin.

The tone is almost similar! It needs a bit more mids! It’s close! I hear it but it sounds like yours needs a bit more mids. The bass feel of it is there. And high ends are spot on.
