Well done Jon on making it to the final awesome. I fished my first match today using the pole, I came 12th out of 20, only the second time I’ve fished with the pole so we’ll chuffed and a big thanks to you as most of my knowledge has come from watching you and your informative videos.
Not only are you my favourite match angler/RUclips contributor, but your videos are always entertaining & ‘family friendly’, unlike a lot of others! I must also commend you for the way you placed each individual fish into the weigh sling, rather than just tipping them in like most match men. After all fish welfare should always be our top priority!!👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎣
@@JonArthur It’s my pleasure John as you give me so much enjoyment watching your great videos. I’m disabled, so only get out when someone can take me, your videos are a great 2nd best to going.👌🏻👍🏻🎣
Congratulations Jon despite everything at the start. After much deliberation I went and spent a lot of money on a landing net handle. I couldn't believe the difference it has made in all my fishing. I took your advice and bought a longer one to help counterbalance the weight and it works so well. So thanks for the advice.
Mr Cool . . . A lot of anglers would have lost it leaving essential bait and landing net handles at home but you dealt with it . . .brilliant performance and result . . Well done and congratulations getting to the final 👍
What a great result Jon. We will never know what could have been if not had the lost fish early on. As always the running commentary is of immense help when applied fishing in my matches. Well done again.
Another brilliant video Jon, I don't fish matches but your videos definitely help put more fish on the bank for me. Thank you mate, keep em coming 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 awesome 😎
Congratulations jon on your qualification especially after the bad start with your kit.... Some cracking fish, you don't need many to get a good weight 👍
Congratulations on making the final of the feeder masters and well done considering that you left some equipment at home so good luck in the final and tight lines 🎣🎣🎣⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
Absolutely brilliant day jon they where all monster's I couldn't stop laughing when you caught your first beast you turned your drag 4 times before it started too click was you shark fishing on it last time 🤣🤣 what a venue and top win 🏆 for the finals mate 👍
Well Done Jon, look forward to seeing in the final (spectator, live 3 miles from Tamar) starting to wake up now, has been fishing hard last few months.
well done Jon I would have put my knee through that landing net handle but I know it was on loan I have watch many of your videos and this was probably the most intense I fished with Des Shipp the other week at Todber on a match it was my first after neck operation so suffered badly after he told me JCB lakes were gin clear and many blanked so great news you have qualified on a plus note I pleasure fished with my new pole at a local lake and weigh in 122Ibs in 3 hours all silvers
Congratulations on making the final Jon, you caught some proper "lumps" 👏 2 questions tho 1, do you suffer with line twist after playing big fish like that off the clutch, if you do, what do you do to remove it? 2, that scopex haze you had, is it available on general sale, if so, who makes it please? Many thanks and well done once again 👍🎣
Line twist can sometimes happen but you can ‘cast it out’ if it’s bad. The Scopex Haze was by Sonubaits. Great stuff but hard to keep the labels on it!
Well done Jon... I run the matches at jcb and that peg seems to be holding a few carp at the moment, it won the section in the jcb masters at the weekend, maybe its the cover of the bushes on the island. Once again we'll done and good luck in the final and hopefully see you down again at jcb sometime 👍🏻
Great video as always, thanks! I have one question about Sonu wafters and bayonets - I find them really hard (especially compared to Ringers) and the needles tend to bend on them. What are your experiences? Cheers!
Yes they can bend the twisted bayonets. I prefer the barbed spikes. You can also pre drill with a tiny micro screwdriver and softening overnight in a dab of water can help too.
Hello Jon, I missed your reply the other day sorry. Thanks for answering! I've learnt that you can moisture the wafters with a tiny amount of saline solution (0.5ml per box) - they become soft enough to spike them and yet preserve the buoyancy. Cheers!
Great stuff as always Jon! That handle looked horrendous to use - it's amazing the difference a good one makes. I've got mates that part with 2k+ for a pole but only spend £20-30 on a handle "because its only a handle". I hate having to try and net a fish when the net moves five seconds after your arm 🤣
Well done Jon top angling by a top angler getting some lumps, nothing worse than someone casting over you keep the videos coming mate and remember your landing net handle mate I like a stiffer one to be honest, take care
Blimey, not many of them to the pound. Congrats Jon on reaching the final. Would you have managed to cast the distance with a slightly shorter rod as I find when they are under the rod tip a short rod helps. What size b/s line were you using? I notice you always keep that tip low before netting, all these vids help me with my fishing so a big THANK YOU.
I think my 10ft would have been pushed a bit at that range. shorter rods are great on normal commercials but a clear natural looking Stillwater with lots of reeds and snags inside a longer rod offers more leverage and keeps them away from trouble.
Well done bagger i thought you were gonna talk one more fish on at the end 😀 Good luck in the final pal 👍 I suggest you forget your bait and landing net handle for it seems to bring you some good luck🤣
Good result jon well done...hope mr bartlett doesnt see ya vid 😂..any chance of matrix bringing out a bendy landing net ! Good skills netting them beasts with that handle ...all the best in the final 👍
well done jon , good job you brought your lucky ducks with you. i didnt think your casting was that bad, have you been having some coaching from dave wood?
Brilliant video Jon. Is that the 4000 size reel ? For info I've started saying "phone : food : bait" to myself before I drive away from the house (you can guess why)
Landing your first catch was similar to mine the other day, just at the point I thought it was landed it shot off like a bullet into the reeds snapping all my kit off

It’s only when you try a good stuff strong handle that you appreciate the difference
Mr Cool . . . A lot of anglers would have lost it leaving essential bait and landing net handles at home but you dealt with it . . .brilliant performance and result . . Well done and congratulations getting to the final 👍
Yes I thought I was still quite relaxed once I’d borrowed a handle and pellets!
What a great result Jon. We will never know what could have been if not had the lost fish early on. As always the running commentary is of immense help when applied fishing in my matches. Well done again.

Food for thought! 😂
loved another match with you, Im rubbish at them,
Glad you enjoyed it! :-)
Can you get a day ticket for the jcb lakes, hard to find any info on it.
Don’t think so
It’s a members only water. Feeder Masters have special permission to use it.
Sorry There’s No Day Tickets It’s Strictly Members Only. Steve Amison
Yes I need a check list before leaving the house
I need check lists for my check lists!
Brilliant video Jon. Is that the 4000 size reel ? For info I've started saying "phone : food : bait" to myself before I drive away from the house (you can guess why)
Well done Jon. What size reel were you using on the feeder rod?
Landing your first catch was similar to mine the other day, just at the point I thought it was landed it shot off like a bullet into the reeds snapping all my kit off
Ouch!
I cleaned my landing net handle once and left it outside to dry, went fishing and no handle so I ended up using a 3ft bank stick and a keep net
That was my last resort option. Would've been fun on the day the way they fought!!
I’ve left my bait at home before and my rod hold-all
can you get day tickets for this bud
Its a members only water Im afraid. Think there's a waiting list too!
Trust Jon Arthur to interfere with Mallard ducks love life! .... how would he like someone filming him during courtship/foreplay? 😨😨 ... 😂 ❤
For the right price…

Worst feeder snacks I’ve seen 💩
Definitely! The snacks were with left at home with my bait. 😥🤤
Chucking towards another angler when catching is poor angling
