Just watched the video very good 👍 and reading the comments you replied to everyone there aren't meny top anglers who do that credit to you for doing it.
Love these ones were you talk us through your thought process feel like I learn loads and is a enjoyable watch 🙂 Well done and congrats on the pole fishing masters win! 👍
I had it good when I went to white acres in July, just after lockdown. It's definitely had a hammering since then. Thanks for the video Jon and keep those drum and bass vibes coming!!
Yet again another excellent video Jon nice to see you picking some coin up for all the effort you put in congratulations and please keep the videos coming always good to watch 👍😎🍀
Awsome stuff as always Jon...can imagine the guy on peg 16 looking at you in the last 2 hours thinking he's caught another and another and another etc etc etc... Safe safe and keep sharing.
I have just found your videos. I am not a match angler and have only just started using a pole. Thanks very much for all the info ! Its really informative seeing you change tactics and why you are doing something is very helpful ! Great stuff I will watch a few more and hopefully learn a lot . Tight Lines
Nice Jon as always, some good little tips I’ve been using in my match fishing, fished todbar manor last Saturday but weather was abysmal so nothing worked well.
Blooming heck Jon you make it look so easy. Gonna have to book a session with you in the spring so you can teach this old dog some new tricks, lol. Great vid as always buddy!
There is no one i enjoy watching more. I really like the live match approach you do, good or bad results, its nice to see your approach and the way your plans change due to conditions or the way the fish are feeding. Also there is none of that very loud music that seems to accompany many other posts. Keep up the good work John. Bye the way have you ever fished baltic warf in Bristol?
Have you tried a Throwing Stick in the wind Jon ? You can use a short piece of pole section but mine's a 20" piece of plastic pipe with a little piece of brush stave nailed inside about 4" down. Keep it on your front leg and drop pinches of bait in without letting go of the pole then pick it up and give it a quick flick. You can send bait out a considerable distance and once you get used to using it left-handed you'll be surprised how accurate you can get in a cross wind.
Hard work paid off Jon, top anglers don’t let there heads drop after 2plus hours, you put on a fine display 80+lbs the last 2hours, must of had end pegs scratching a itch that was not there😂😂👍
Well done John. It's a great lake, especially once its had a bit of a rest. We are sadly not allowed cat meat in festivals and meat of any description is not normally allowed on any of the residents matches, but 1pt of luncheon meat is allowed on some festivals, but Im sure it would be very good there on a normal session.
Thanks Colin, on my rough n ready vids I just rely on the GoPro mic as I really don't want to be messing about with battery packs and leads etc. However I use some expensive Senheissers for my freelance work and 'proper' jobs!
Yes I think it can as the returned fish can swim straight back to the shoal. However, no keepnets can also be an advantage when pleasure fishing as you are more likely to catch really close in and sometimes just inches from your feet.
It's only allowed in big festivals, so it's not allowed in general on the complex, including normal matches and smaller festivals. It wouldn't bother me if it was banned completely to make things easier on the 8pt bait limit we also have, but I think they allow it because it's historically always been good in festivals there.
Generally leave the fat on, especially 8mm+, but sometimes wash 6mm cubes so they all sink evenly. I can see pros and cons for washing it off and leaving it on.
Jon, when on a festival do you take your bait with you from home (apart from pellets) or do you trust the maggots and casters will be decent and buy them down in the South West?
Generally try and take enough down to last the week. Sometimes turn fresh casters while down there. The maggots from the shop were excellent this week though.
I normally like Match Lake, but it was really terrible on the two festivals with 30lb being a very good weight most days, but 21 is certainly one of my favourite pegs. Hope the cormorant has gone now!
On the main White Acres festivals you are allowed one unit/pint of meat and are given an official white container specifically for meat, which fits two tins of Plumrose.
@@JonArthur fair enough it just threw me for a min when you said you were using meat as i down there next week on hols teaching youngun to fish start him on whip and was checking their rules and it said no meat. any tips for the barbel and chub at whiteacres i can target while teaching him to catch skimmers, silvers and small f1's

Yes there seems to be a pattern! :-)
Great video Jon 👍
Glad you enjoyed it

Another informative and well presented video...I havent fished meat before..could you point me towards some how to's etc?..
I might do a meat vid when spring arrives
I WAS DOWN THERE AWEEK AGO, CAUGHT WELL ON WHISKERS CAT FOOD IN JELLY ON TRELAWNY LAKE,

Nice video Jon, Well done on the Pole Masters Win. Please tell me what mic set up you use when filming matches, thanks.

Hi John it’s me, do you think that when pleasure fishing, the returning of fish to your can effect the fishing. Kind Regards Alan
Yes I think it can as the returned fish can swim straight back to the shoal. However, no keepnets can also be an advantage when pleasure fishing as you are more likely to catch really close in and sometimes just inches from your feet.
just good
Thanks Ludwig
Rules at Whiteacres must have changed since this was filmed, I've just got back from a trip there, and I was told meat and bread were banned.
A pint of Meat is allowed in the big festivals only, and half a loaf of bread. They also provide an official container that your meat goes in.
@@JonArthur Thanks for the reply Jon, must be a ban just for pleasure anglers then
It's only allowed in big festivals, so it's not allowed in general on the complex, including normal matches and smaller festivals. It wouldn't bother me if it was banned completely to make things easier on the 8pt bait limit we also have, but I think they allow it because it's historically always been good in festivals there.
Great video Jon as usual, did you do a video of your Daiwa masters win?
No, but it'll be on Catch More Media :-)
Hi Jon, how do you prepare your meat ? Do you rinse off the fat?
Generally leave the fat on, especially 8mm+, but sometimes wash 6mm cubes so they all sink evenly. I can see pros and cons for washing it off and leaving it on.

@@JonArthur thanks Jon 👍
Jon are you
hooking or using a bayonet to attach meat ?
Just straight hooking on a size 16
Thanks Jon
How many pints of maggots in them last 2 hours did you feed Jon? Ps I’m the lad who youve been speaking to on Instagram about the mtx-3🤙
I fed 4pts in total.
Jon you can’t win every competition 😁😁but we would like you to .
Thanks Shabba! :-)
I MUCH PREFER THE MATCH LAKE FISHING IS ALWAYS VERY GOOD,I DREW HIGH BANK 21 LAST WEEK,EMPTIED IT!!!
I normally like Match Lake, but it was really terrible on the two festivals with 30lb being a very good weight most days, but 21 is certainly one of my favourite pegs. Hope the cormorant has gone now!
Blimey, usually catch 30 lb without trying!! We will be there again in June next year, can’t wait.
Keep your videos coming please John, I luv Em!!!!!
Did you win the pole masters
Yes and Catch More Media filmed it for their channel :-)
@@JonArthur well done Jon you deserve it👍
What floats do you use for f1 shallow
All sorts, depending on time of year etc, but the ones in this video are mentioned at the very end.
Bit dissapointed not even once mentioned "Windy Acres" ... :-)
Ha ha, I think the film showed Windy Acres well enough this time! ;-)
Top angling
Thanks Stephen
Even I caught a fish at white acres
Nice one Gaz
👍🐟👍
:-)
i didn't think meat was allowed at whiteacres? according to their lake rules pdf it not allowed
On the main White Acres festivals you are allowed one unit/pint of meat and are given an official white container specifically for meat, which fits two tins of Plumrose.

I
think meats banned on all white acres lakes
Yes it is only allowed on specific festivals and only 1pt which is approx 2x 300g tins. It is not allowed on any normal match there.
TRELAWNEY Lake- that’s cultural appropriation.
Yes it's a lovely Cornish name. I think JK Rowling stole it too...
