      It's the same model as our ranch truck, and we've spent $$$ on the front suspension. I feel that our reliable truck was worth it.

    Well said. Red Hat Enterprise Linux software developers have been rebuilding gearboxes for pickup trucks for years. They also make a nifty suspension kit that fits most desktop gaming PCs.

    Never had A problem with Primewell tires. Use them all the time. Primewell tires been around since 1951...are made by the Giti Company which is headquartered in Singapore and operates the majority of its manufacturing in Shanghai, China. Yea they all have had some issues tries cracking...but who remembers Firestone years back? K-Boom!!

      Anytime a tire salesman mentions that a certain tire is their best seller, all I can think of is highest commission or cheapest price. Rarely, if ever, does that tire rank highly in Consumer Reports.

      @@paulsanderson6790 so it's "keyed"? - TBH I haven't taken off a steering wheel in about a decade (to replace it with a nicer one). Since Randy mentioned that the pitman arm could be re-mounted at around 45degrees based on how it's keyed that's the best fix anyhow. For $200 alignment it would have been nice if they would have done that too - I'm sure they'd still make money off of him (if not on that visit on a follow on one).

    Randy, can I give you a suggestion on the Jetta? That has the VR6 engine. Tuners will kill themselves, or somebody else, to get that engine. For what you have in that car, you can sell it for the engine and computer for somebody to put it in a Golf or something else. If you run it through Copart again, you won't get anything for it. Also if you look at another one, make sure it is a stick. Those automatic transmission were garbage from when they were new.

  • @DanaDoesStuff
    @DanaDoesStuff 5 лет назад +3

    Nothing wrong whatsoever with Primewell tires! I bought my 2004 Ford Expedition 16 months ago and it had 4 different tires on it of various conditions. I replaced them all with a brand new set of the same tires you got, except mine aren't the ATs, they're the street version. Totally quiet, they wear well and a year later they still look almost new. So many tires these days have inflated price tags. In my experience, I'd put the Primewells up against those Firestones any day!

    That truck was a helluva deal! No rust, no Christmas tree dash, working 4x4, good bed and tailgate. That truck would pull 5k all day in the upper midwest!
    Hang on to it that thing is a gem.
    Btw these F150s do use torsion bars on the front suspension and are integral to the alignment.
    Supercrew bed is 1ft shorter than super cab...that's what the Harley is.
    My f150 is a massive pit and I'd kill for your supercrew! Wish I had found it before you did

    Definitely a good deal. I'm from Michigan and trucks sell fast and hold there value REALLY well. A truck like that would sell for double what you have invested. Typically the rule of thumb is if it is a 4x4 and runs and drives its atleast $2000, you throw in the fact it has about 150k on it and it's not rotted out equals value. Keep up the good work👍

    Hey Randy personally I really think you should get the truck wrapped instead of the Corvette. I mean if you think about it Auto Auction Rebuild it makes since, the truck is a salvage auction rebuild that you literally rebuilt the front suspension on and has a salvage title. Get some new wheels possibly get a dual exhaust and get wrapped. This is just my personal opinion that I'm putting out. But other that this truck was worth it, I know in my area this truck will go for about 6 grand and thats in good condition.

    You said comment below about our opinion on the $2,500 deal. I'll make a comparison. My primary towing vehicle, a 1993 K3500, I paid $3,100 total including the truck, fees, towing, repairs, and tires. And my truck looks like something from a pick-a-part salvage yard. The cab corners are gone from rust, the exhaust is gone (because of rust) from the downpipe down, and the interior is a mix of dirt and rust. Also there's no front bumper. The exterior paint is a mix of rust and rattle can paint. I still love it because it's a 4X4 full ton.
    Nice tires. I don't know about the Coparts in OK, but some of the ones I've been to in Texas turns to swamp after rain. Some people have gotten stuck. The parking lots are usually paved, but not the loading area.

      @CR7659 5 лет назад +1

      I did good on my 1993 3500 dually then. Went right out and hauled cars with it for $800. It's rusted to hell, the battery held up with bungee cords, but it has done the job. The frame is a little punky in the back or I'd go through it, would probably need a whole front clip and core support.

      The title is honestly not a horrible thing here in OK. Some people will be turned away by it but it will still bring good money in this market

    Here's the deal 97 through 03 down where I'm at go for a 2500 to 5000. You're lucky to find anything less than 2500 that's worth a darn

    Remove the steering wheel and reposition it so it centered? I do not know of many places where you could have bought a truck with new tires, all new front suspension, and no leaks for $2,500.

    I would rather change front suspension than replace a heater core. I have replaced Hester core before where you had to pull the dash.

    Price well worth it.. Just put the right parts in, and you have a nice truck you can use for yrs to come.

    for the red truck, I would keep the same rims but put a gloss black paint job on them. Then put a fresh paint job on it because the clear coat is pealing. Put a red head gear box on it. Then fix the steering wheel 45 degree angle. That's everything.
