Beautiful!! I love freediving. It's pure freedom and escapism. I'm from Wales so the waters here are stunning too, but I've always wanted to freedive Scotland. Great stuff.
Yeah I've been to Cove harbour a few times, it's really good there but you have to get lucky with the weather because the vis is usually not great. Portlethen village is meant to be good as well but I haven't been there yet, same issues with vis though I would imagine.
@@hannahlouise333 Thanks Hannah, this is all along the coastline between Inverness and Fraserburgh. I just pick a random spot and dive in, try to go somewhere different every time!
Very beautiful and inspiring!! For how long can you stay under water?? I do sea swimming, and kind of tempted to try this out... though I doubt there are too many areas nearby that are suitable, as the beaches are quite flat and the water isn't very clear where I stay in Edinburgh... or do you happen know a spot nearby that is good for free diving?
Breath hold is 1min30sec - 2mins max in the sea, it has slowly gotten better over time. I don't know of any particular locations near Edinburgh but I usually just use google earth to scout for spots to dive, the only way to know if it's going to be good is by getting in the water. I have had plenty of wasted trips!
@@TiggrrPowrr I can imagine. It's not all calm blue seas with beautiful sunrays bursting through, as most people would think. I just came back from sea swimming... the water was annoyingly choppy, but a little clearer underwater than usual. Hope to see a lot more of your videos. Stay safe!!🤘🏻
What equipment you using? I'm just getting into it. Using a 5mm wetsuit, cresi fins although I've longer, more flexible ones coming home. Your camera looks super clear what is it? I've got a gopro hero 5
I got into freediving in winter 2020 on the north-west coast of Scotland and I've been using a 2/3 mm wetsuit. Since you seem to do a fair amount of diving here, do you suggest I buy a thicker one even if I won't really need it in summer?
Good stuff, enjoy that west coast vis! I use a 7mm and I would say it is too much, even in winter. If I could go back in time I would get a 5mm. It's down to you though, if you are warm in a 2/3mm then I don't see any reason to change. Depends how long you stay in the water, thicker suit will hold off the cold for longer. It's usually your hands and feet that get cold first anyway. If you do get a new suit I definitely recommend getting a custom one, a good fitting 3mm will always be warmer than a bad fitting 5mm!

Yes it's nice to escape sometimes!
Thank you for the beautiful and very interesting video 🙂
Thank you for the kind comment!
Lovely footages.
Awesome video! Nice to see these kinds of places here in Scotland to free dive. Have you found any good places around Aberdeen?

I was wandering are you not worried about what is in the sea weed? And THE JELLY FISH
What do you think is in the seaweed to be worried about?
@@TiggrrPowrr jelly fish, sharks,octopus
Exactly where about in Aberdeen were you?
Super nice! Where abouts on the east coast were you please?
I take that back I have seen your other videos - awesome. I am confined to the murky moray firth until restrictions lift!

Trying to get a wetsuit for freediving. Trying to move to Scotland. Trying to pull myself away from your awesome videos but can't. Keep making them!!

7mm Polosub suit. Plastic Cressi fins but I plan to get carbons soon. Camera is a Hero 8 Black.
@@TiggrrPowrr footage is top class!
I'm just thinking about how freezing that water must be
With a 7mm wetsuit sometimes it's too hot!
Nice video Tig
Cheers J!
That header read as if you could go diving for free 😲
You can, I don't pay!
