- Dying Light 2 (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S/One) is finally about to release. Here are some of my favorite things about the game after playing it.

hopefully the technical issues get cleaned up because it's a really fun game.
if it's supported as long as the first game? I'll keep coming back. they made a cool world.

@@gameranxTV heeeey guys. What's upppp
not to be creepy, but you are a handsome man. nice hair.
Same !!
I want to befriend Rosario Dawson but I am going to help the SURVIVORS faction 🧡
Glad you did this video as I liked the first one but money’s tight this month but hopefully once the patches drop, I will definitely be getting this one. As long as no unforeseen financial burdens crop up.
smart move. it will only get better (hopefully)
there are always plenty of other games to catch up on!

10:21 “good, tense, sweaty buttcheek moments” 😅 love it! So hyped to play this, though like you mentioned that the first one was so original of an idea, that it might be hard to top it but still looks like an epic world to explore and looks like a beautiful world with all the over growing foliage.
Thanks for the always insightful videos and Before You Buys. Hyped to pickup my preorder tomorrow even more seeing all this gameplay.
👀
The game was spectacular in my first 10 hours, but oh boy as soon as I reached that main city I was overwhelmed af, in a good way, also the transition of travelling to the downtown district was just on point, reminded me of the journey to old town in the first game, except it’s a lot more cinematic here and tense.
Lol I just played this part. Yea that chase sequence was pretty great, felt like something was on my ass the entire way. The opening city was pretty weak imo, I didn’t care about anything. But once you get the hang glider the action picks up a lot.
Always appreciate ur official take on gaming even outside what u do on gameranx. I loved the first game but this one seems like something I’ll wait on til all patches are done. Thanks Jake.
I wasn't excepting much storywise but the gameplay looked really really cool, great video as usual :)
I think thats why im not all that bummed about the story falling flat. Iv never come to zombie games for their stories. Expect for Telltales Walking Dead of course.
Jake, you beautiful bean, your videos are the first I seek when I hear about a game. Gotta go with who you trust and respect. Also, don't recall if it was this vid or the gameranx one bc I watched them back to back, but thanks for the GamePro nostalgia!
Best synopsis early on that I've seen. 60hrs in so far and JUST finished the story with a sprinkling of side content. That alone was worth it. Now I'm looking forward to running around and finishing that side-content (and MAN is there a LOT).
And I will be playing through it again with way different choices.
Not many games make a person want to DO that anymore.
Bugs and shit be damned.
If they maintain and support this like DL1 and DL The Following, I have FULL faith in the title.
I was hoping i could play a demo to see if i like the gameplay. I am wondering why we cant have demos anymore. They had promised us, in this generation we ll get to preview many many games with demos and we are getting so much less demos than ever.
I agree. Companies would most likely make more money with a demo dropping us into the one good action spot of the whole game for 10 minutes and sell it even if the rest is mediocre.
Because what if you dont like the demo the company just lost $60 its not financially reasonable to include demos now ESPECIALLY since none of their competitors are putting out demos
@@voidsff if i dont like the demo , of course i wont buy the game. So are you suggesting that they should trick us into buying a game , and thats why we shouldnt try it? lol... wow.
So there should be no demos, ever, with that logic. Its like saying they dont believe their game can convince me to buy it, so they need to trick me by not trying it first.
Great logic.
By the way, the "competitors"? but if the competitors went by your logic, nobody would ever release any demo ever.
@@DJRobinSkouteris Thats exactly what im suggesting. Welcome to the gaming market in 2022 and onward, its all about the money.
Cos why give a demo if you can also pay 60 bucks to the studio or fuck off. They don't like you not spending that money!
Definitely my go-to channel for gaming news. Love your content. Game looks dope too, think I might get after they ironed it out a bit.
I’m 100% with you here, the minute to minute gameplay is addictive in a way I can’t think of another series being. The way you have so much control over each choice, the upgrades, it’s really incredible! The story? Ehhhhhh not so much. A lot more menial detective work than I would’ve thought going in.
You had me at “Condemned: Criminal Origins”.
Dead Island 360 and when I heard about Dying Light 2 coming out, I realized I missed DL1; bought it on Switch and loved it - looking forward to summer, less to do and hopefully enough time for DL2 :)
You know everybody is complaining about no ballistic weapons, but those only really work well against humans, and since most humans don't have firearms its equal ground, but I did hear there is a makeshift shotgun so good! Hoping the dlc will let you say, learn the old forgotten skill of firearms crafting. That would be really cool.
I think nighttime is a lot less scary than in the first game. You just have to avoid howlers, which are stationary on ground level, so just stick to the rooftops and you can just completely avoid being chased, or even on ground level, just walk around them, which isn't hard to do. Whereas before, there were volatiles all over the place, on the prowl, hunting for you, literally running all over the place, including on rooftops... But otherwise, it's tons of fun. Just got past the first area in the main open world, with tons of skyscrapers, so it's very vertical, and just a really cool intricate honeycomb of spaces...it's spectacular.
Hey I met you and the other guys at Gameranx a few years ago at E3 and I just wanna say you're EXACTLY how you seem in all your videos. You just wanted to hang out and talk about all the fun games we got to play(plus I remember when I came to talk to you, you basically pulled me over to the other gameranx team and gave them all the credit for the videos, which I thought was pretty cool). Stoked for this game, hope it's great
With the past 4 hours I’ve played, I’m in love with the loop. Waiting till night to search dark zones and quarantine zones, stealthing through to get more inhibitors ohhh I love it. The different bases to claim, the small mini bosses with more loot. I love it just searching and clearing it’s really addictive.
So far I’m invested in the story. It’s nothing special but it’s intriguing to say the least, it’s a valid and decent reason to move you throughout the game.
The gameplay doesn’t feel floaty at all while playing, and they do address it lore wise in the beginning in the game as to why you can just be crazy.
Combat is fine at the start combat and moving is slow but the progression is exponential. You get faster and stronger very quickly if you look in the right places.
Map is awesome
And night time if you fuck up is terrifying
If you liked the first game and have looked at this game thinking you’ll like it, you will. It does what it does well
I agree 100%. I haven’t been board for 1 second of gameplay or story. This game pulls you into its world.
I love these videos! Looking forward to playing this tomorrow. Have a good rest of your day Jake!
Thank you for watching. Hope you have fun playing!!
Tomorrow? It’s been out for 6 hours now digitally
@@AmbitiousPanda my game isnt downloaded. i have slow internet
Still love playing DL1 and after watching your Before You Buy and this Video, You've got me Giddy!!! nearly 1 Hour to go and Then I'm in heaven!!! Cheers and Keep up the great work!.
I absolutely loved the first Dying Light Game, it brought this joy to gaming that is really hard to come by. We have been patiently waiting for years hoping to see a bigger better game and I have faith they pulled it off. Most AAA games theses days are hardly worth full price let alone the ever so expensive Ultimate Edition that are being shoved down our screens! I'm patiently waiting the countdown on my PS5 to jump in. Big Fan of Gameranx and all the work you do Jake. Have another redbull and keep the videos coming!! all the best from Canada!
I mentioned this over on the gameranx video, but you really made me hype for this game. I pretty much felt the exact same way about the first Dying Light. So to hear you speak so fondly of the sequel really amps me up
Appreciate these sorts of videos Jake. Was on the fence to get this but the aforementioned technical issues convinced me to wait. I got the first game on sale a few weeks back and will probably go through that first. Glad to hear this is a real fun experience tho
Haven’t experienced one bug since the day one patch
I’m hyped as hell about the city, love the architecture and the overgrown plants, i’ve wanted a huge overgrown open world city to mess around in since I played the extinction dlc on ark.
Bruh the music when your climbing the radio tower 👌🏽 my favorite mission when you get the grappling hook and stuff lol
One of my highlights was the courier side quest. Bringing letters to people and hearing about how they’re playing chess via mail with other people, or that someone’s having a wedding and letting all their friends know, really makes the game world feel much more interconnected than it may seem on a surface level.
BRUH how have I never found your personal channel?!

Love the Condemned reference. That game is an annual replay title for me. Was thinking about purchasing DL2 because of the similarities in how the combat looks and your remark just about sold it for me haha
Yea that was a great comparison he made. I hadn’t considered it before but the similarities in how combat felt in those 2 games and how it feels in dying light is a spot on comparison. The condemned games are honestly super underrated, no one ever talks about them anymore. I’d love to see a condemned 3 one day
You're the reason I come back here. I love the honesty, I have been watching you for years, first comment. You, Jake, are a bit special. Don't fancy you, but you are like a mate. Stay you.
HAHA cheers
Thank you!
@@JakeBaldino Too much to ask, but going to ask anyway. I would love you to play Ark, stream and watch the follows pile in. Just stream that first play, SC on standby.
Ahhh, Video game magazines. How I miss you.
OMFG i'm downloading it right now i'm so excited to play it i haven't felt this excited about a game in so long i don't expect anything mind blowing i just want more dying light and as long as i get that it's going to be an awesome experience
So glad u mentioned condemned the first time I engaged in combat in this game It immediately reminded me of condemneds combat
Stumbled across this video randomly - really like your content and speaking voice on Gameranx! Subscribed!!
Thanks Brian! Glad to hear it
Glad to hear about your experience! I just finished the story finally, and tbh I enjoyed it, and as far as the bugs go, I started playing it on day 1 on my pc at 1080p 120fps and my pc just has a ryzen 5 with a gtx 1660 with an ssd. Point is I really didn't experience much bugs there are some but I didn't experience a lot of them. Still my favorite game!
Blessup JB...oh you brought it back with the GamePro mag...them days getting Electronic gaming monthly & game Pro mags was our RUclips tips & tricks today...just had to read a few pages....but hope dl2 is smooth when I get it....
Man, so happy to find this channel, I didn't even know you had one and I've been watching you in another for years!!! WTH!!! XD
Really enjoy your videos. You don’t sugar coat things I really appreciate hearing an honest take
Its all abt gameplay and visuals for me. DL2 kills it. The parkour, combat, progression, exploration, and loot are so addictive. The story is whatever. Just something to drive the exceptional gameplay loop. Im playing the ps5 version in performance mode and have experienced a few very minor technical bugs, but nothing that's really bother me. Great game
Good video man.. feb and March are really big months. This, horizon, sifu, Elden ring, shadow warrior 3, stranger of paradise and now Tokyo..I’m lucky enough I can get all of them. (I’ll leave myself skint) but I honestly can’t remember months this packed with good games. I was always going get dying light 2 because I loved the first one!
Commenting just because of your username 👌🏻
Hey Jake! From looking at the gameplay, I've noticed the parkour, and jumping specifically looks a bit "floaty"? As if it's from Borderlands, you know? Does it feel floaty and low-gravity? Or is it as satisftying as the first DL?
Love your stuff:)
the jump is a bit more generous and does look a bit floaty but the overall feel is still good. it was noticeably a bit different but it didn't bother me.
@@JakeBaldino Alright cool! Cant wait to play! I got covid today so im stuck in my room for 5 days, which might work out pretty well actually, considering the timing. Again, i gotta say i love watching all your videos, so keep up the good work man!

Everyone says this lol
I'm playing this today on my Ps5. All snowed in here so yeah! Super excited. Loved the 1st game.
My favourite thing is how you get to choose between 1080p or 30 FPS on new consoles.
my absolute least favorite part.
“Numbers are stupid” spoken like a true man 😂
Comparing it to the condemned games makes me want to play it. I remember being at a family party once, playing my older cousin’s xbox, and finding that game. Years later when I was older I bought and beat both games.
cool story bro
Lol
I love the game, but there are some things that bother me:
- the combat system
The combat skill tree is fun and most importantly useful for the first few skills, after you are getting higher lvl its like whatever (for me)
- i don't like that you only can level stamina and combat skill trees, would be fun if they added some utility skill tree or something.
- unlocking the metro stations , GRE anomalies etc is fun, but gets repetitive real fast.
- like many people i share their opinion on the night, it is NOT scary at all... maybe gets scarier if you are getting chased 4/4.
- i hate the motion blur on Xbox series S..
Besides those negatives im having a blast playing the game!
Good night, good luck.
I love the shirt Jake, I ordered the hoodie. Should be coming within the next week finally!
Love it so far its one of those rare occasions that I don't mind the repetition in an open world game because of the day and night cycle and the parkour game play. The only I hate is trying to get through this game because there are two other open world games that I am looking forward to this month elden ring and horizon forbidden west.
7:37 - Man of culture. I wasn’t a huge fan of that game, but I really felt the hand to hand combat at the time, and Dying Light felt like an evolution of that.
What’s up Jake! You’re number 1 in reviewing games in my opinion. Keep it up brotha!!
Always a good day when you upload sir, thank you 🙏🏿.
thank you!
Really dig it. The choices don't seem to matter much but it's a fun time, moment to moment, and really dig upgrading my character and running around it's open world!
With the other releases coming out this month (Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West) and Dying Light 2s bugs it'll be a wait for me. As a fan of the 1st one however I'm excited to give it a chance soon. Glad you're having a blast!
My friend group talks about clerks 2 all the time Jake ! You aren't alone!!!
Great review! I appreciate the mood of the video. What I mean is that you point out issues and are critical without acting like an angry teen which is how a lot of the reviewers I’ve seen review this game act. The game can be criticized without having to sound angry, and you honestly sound happy which just puts me in a good mood for some reason.
Fun Factor should always be a category for any video game.....
ACG has been using fun factor for a long time. And it's always the most important part of his reviews for me.
He also had a blast with this game!
I cannot wait to get my hands on it.
I'm a huge fan of the first game.
It is ridiculous how charismatic Jake is.
Now that you brought up Clerks 2 (great movie) would love to hear your thoughts on the rest of View Askew's movies and the upcoming Clerks 3.
I think that’s something people seem to forget when it comes to games nowadays: they are games. You have to suspend disbelief and give allowances. Obviously it doesn’t excuse hot messes but people need to remember why we play games. For fun.
i recently got dying light 1 and one thing i like about dying light 2 (from what i have seen in the videos) is there seems to be a lot of quality of life improvements. maybe i am wrong cuz i am still early in the game but thats what it looks like.
Definitely, the sanctions you can unlock and assign to a certain faction bring it to life, the night time runs are so much better than the first game, let me break it down. (Dying light 1 Night runs: Turn the corner, shit yourself. turn around, then sprinting full speed and shit yourself again as more volitiles gain sight of you, while you’re pleading to get back to the tower wishing you never got stuck out here… Dying light 2 Night runs: Intense, watch out for howlers, keep your heart pumping, find your valuable loot.)
Honestly, maybe I was just too scared back then to go out at night. But this game definitely brings back that freakish vibe and horror of being out in the dark surrounded by zombies
Thanks for all the awesome work you do man. Really really appreciate it ♥️
Story wasn’t that great in the first one either but we still loved it for the fun of the gameplay, I’m stoked to jump in on hard mode! That oh shit moment you spoke about falling on the street at night is exactly what I’ve been waiting for!
You’ll enjoy this story tons more, I promise that. Kyle Crane’s story was insanely bland, that just left…basically no taste in my mouth. This one isn’t ‘GREAT’ by any means, but I’d say its a lot better than the past few games that came to us last year.
@@Creeper50DJ crane was a good character
@@Creeper50DJ I agree. I’m into this story more than most games
@@C0ZYL4ZY Crane himself was a phenomenal character, he showed that not everyone does or says the right things sometimes. I liked him as a main, but the rest of the characters, I had almost no connection to. It was particularly cause of the bad acting. Cranes voice actor put in more work for longer periods of time than the rest and that shows good development on his end.
I do take review scores into consideration not to determine whether the game is 'bad'... I don't think a 7 out of 10 is bad at all.. it's more for me to budget my money and decide what is worth it NOW (for me). This is a game I'll probably pick up when it is on sale and when I have more time. Most people don't have the privilege of receiving free codes.. this month alone is going to be an expensive one since I am set on playing Elden Ring, and I am sure I'll be picking up Horizon. Last month I bought Pokemon... so yeah... it's more about budgeting my money than declaring something is bad because it received an average score of 7...
Meh, if they want a story they can go watch some Netflix or read a book, its the game loop like he said in the video, story is filler, the game play is the hook.
@@jrag1000 I didn't even say the story was an issue... I am talking about why I consider reviews; simply it's deciding what I want to spend my money on first. I mean c'mon...these are called "before you buy.."
Awesome video!! Love your content, keep it coming!
I got Dying Light 1 Platinum Edition for the Switch today as I’ve not played it as well and Dying Light 2 looks really good as well gameplay wise at least. I can’t believe I’ve missed these games somehow even though I’m a huge Mirror’s Edge fan and these games look inspired by them.
I think a funny thing is irl buildings are pretty repetitive a shops is going to look similar to majority of shops a hospital will be similar to other ones etc
I super pumped to play this game when I get home from work today. The first game was amazing and judging from how they supported that game for Years, I can't wait for the add on/DLC content they'll no doubt consistently put out to support DL2. Be the Zombie was AMAZING in the first game so that mode is a must in DL 2 and would be even better on a larger scale than the 4 humans vs1 Night Hunter the first game offered. I'm just really looking forward to playing this and then jumping back in fro. Time to time as they drop expansions and story DLC add ons. Hopefully they get PvP in eventually too cause like I said that mode was sooooo awesome.
I have it on ps5. I only played after the day 1 patch but I haven't ran into a single bug or any glitch at all. Where other games would most likely have bugs, so far, this game hasn't had any. It is really super fun and is my first Dying Light game. I truly do recommend it to anyone.
Oh man that Fun Factor score chart brought back a ton of memories
Jake what’s up!
Hey I want to play the following but I finished dying light so long ago I don’t remember anything about it/how to play.
Should I try and use my old maxed out existing save, or start a brand new character in the following?
Cheers
Hey Jake, loving the game so far, my only issue is not being able to use custom controls (PC). Because of my disability, I can't really go on and continue to play properly. Hoping this comment might get your attention and maybe you could aim a spotlight at this issue, and perhaps get the devs to look into it? A lot of people like me may not be able to play the game at all.
A more detailed explanation: When you change certain controls not all of their use cases are changed accordingly.
For instance, I have changed my jump button to 'T', but if I want to jump off a ledge I need to press 'space'.
I have changed my crouch to 'W', but to execute a roll after falling from a height I need to press 'C'.
Thanks for the video Jake. You and i like alot of the same games and i enjoy hearing your opinions on them. It helps me get excited about them also and wamt to play or replay them. I've played Dyimg Light and loved it but not DL2 yet but it's scheduled for sure. I rarely buy games new so i wait until they're half priced or less. I guess im cheap. 😅 ✌️
Jake
Big fan of you and gameranx and the first dying light as well
Nothing can beat the first game for me but the fact that they tried to is commendable
I got the sequel on preorder but I'm only going to play it after I finish dying light 1 for the millionth time
Enjoy brother, I honestly think this game tops ‘1’ for me. They put their souls into this. Now I’m just waiting on a patch to fix minor bugs
Thank you for this in depth video Jake! I can't wait to watch your Elden Ring before you buys and stuff the game doesn't tell you!
I thought the map you see at beginning with 4 zones was the entire game. I didn't even realize there's a whole other big section if you scroll down. This game is massive
The one time I will ever comment is for you to make a video about the first Dying Light. It is one of my favorite games and, in my eyes, is a very influential game to the video game industry.
"Numbers are stoopid." Jake is my spirit animal.
it warms my heart when the community agreed how outstanding the predecessor game play alone made it shines how great it is, story-wise as long as the game had a story to tell for the players to digest regards the antagonist of a bootleg Vaas. DL2 environmental design and the use of color tone never gets tiring, sure taking a time appreciating the surroundings would happen often. the devs also highlighted the environment with yellow on ledges/free run spots, also who knew seeing purple compliments the environment, can't believe how parrying made the combat more fun and its seamless now.
Im going to watch this after i play DL2 I can't wait to finally get my hands on it I loved all the easter eggs they put in the first one and in The Following
My buddy and I loved the first one. We played it for days.
But unfortunately he isn't in a financial place to get a PS5, and with no crossplay, we're stuck waiting.
Excited to finally play this game when the crossplay co op drops.
If you don’t mind replaying it on his end, go ahead and get yourself this game! They did mention cross-gen and cross-play will be coming in a few months or so, their lobby menu even looks like a cross-play type of menu, if that makes sense?
You could just download the ps4 version and play with ur friend that way. But obviously only if he has a ps4
Gonna wait for the bugs to get sorted out and let the price drop before picking this up, but looking forward to this.
I’m on series x and I’ve had a handful of minor visual bugs that had zero effect on my enjoyment. It can’t hurt to wait for more polish, just make sure not to skip the absolute gem of a game.
Can’t wait to jump in tomorrow, a little sad to hear the classic zombie movie music isn’t gonna be there, the music in DL1 really gave the game a lot of character, very eerie atmosphere. This game seems like it’s got action movie type music, not a deal breaker but it’s a shame
you on xbox? it releases at 9pm tonight haha
I only play it a few times a week, but it’s really fun to run around in. I like the side stories more than the main story. I still haven’t unlocked the hang glider yet, but I feel like I’m getting close
Ive played the past 3 days on series x. Zero bugs for me
Loved the first one and The Following. Have been waiting to play and delays made it that much more worth on finally getting my copy. Getting that 18G day one patch and hope to play tonight!
This video is causing me mad nostalgia with the terminator 1 type music reference and the condemned like combat.
Jake HAIRDINO
And if I really want to see more Rosario ill go watch Alexander. 👀
Amazing video again Jake! I agree ive been waiting for a nice fun inspired open world game for a while now and this just makes me feel at home with the good old days! Im playing on a brand new pc with a 3060ti (honestly avoid RT its a way clearer smoother experience and still looks great), and have had minimal bugs not enough too impact the fun you can have. Theres alot of care here and the story is funky but I think the world and side activities make up for it. Also be cautious I purchased on epic games and had soooo many issues such as launch problems/screen flickering and returned and got it on steam. The steam version gave me no problems and was half the download size? No idea why but just a tip from my personal experience. Fun game and PLAY WITH A FRIEND! happy outbreak everyone !!
Interested in how you feel about having only 2 skill trees instead of 3 like the original, which I know also has a 4th Legendary option. I’m sure they will add another like legendary with a promised 5 years of support but just wondering if having another like survival is needed or would help to is game?
I feel like they wanted to base your ‘survival’ around parkour, it’s your main traversal and is your ‘go to’ when stuck in situations. The one other thing that is upgradable is your health and stamina. Which tie in with the skill trees, as you need a certain max amount. So you won’t be able to unlock a skill until you find inhibitors, which you upgrade your max stamina or max health depending on the skill.
There is no Survivor tree, because those skills are locked behind faction rewards and general narrative progress
I’ve been thinking and trying to decide on this game. I hated and didn’t enjoy the first game and I’m a big story guy so if a game doesn’t have a good story it really puts me off the entire game.
From reviews I’ve heard everyone is saying it is pretty good but no one is talking about the story really. I did like the decision and choice approach they have in this game from what I’ve seen but hearing that it’s not that great or impactful puts me off too.
Hearing about the story and decision side of things from this video puts me off getting this game now so I’m not very sure what to do?
the only think i kinda miss of dying light 2 is the X RAY hit when you break some bones and stuff... i loved that.. idk why they took it off. so far im having fun
Like how you learned into looking like Dante in the Thumbnail
Super excited to get into this tonight the sweaty heart bumping chases are what I'm going in for
The thing that doesn't make sense to me: Those are full-grown trees. Kinds that I think typically have pretty deep roots, which they'd need to even stand up straight. How much soil can there be on the roofs of skyscrapers? It still looks really cool though. 😃
That ODST helmet in the background goes so hard
I absolutely freaking adored the first Dying Light, so this review made me happy 🥰
Love your vids, homie!! ✌🏼👊🏼
I think Dl1 and Dl2 are very different games. I went back and played the first one after grinding all day yesterday of the second one and realized a few things. The first one has such more weight to your character, and I like how you are running all the time (on pc you can’t walk). The world in 2 seems more full but it’s a lot of repeat structures and missions, I feel like d1 had more unique side missions but not slot to grind for. D1 is way harder with the combat and way scarier at nigher. I always went to sleep in dl1 , I stay out all night in dl2 I think because there’s no valatiles until the later game stages or chase levels.
I don’t think fans from the first game are going in it for the story. Give it some time to work out the bugs and it should be a fun game to play with friends. I also am getting this on PS5.
Im certainly not, thoughnit would have been a nice suprise if the story did end up slapping. Oh well
Literally as soon as I was allowed to explore the first old villedor area I left the story on the side and just went and did my own thing.
That youth energy spidey shirt is fire. I have the cream coloured one!
Blind guess. The next game you are talking about is probably Horizon Forbidden West. I am looking forward to that one. Especially after the first Gameranx review to zero dawn xD.
P.S. I love the hack outta your videos man... you really are one of the purest names in this part of the industry. Keep it up.
P.P.S. I wanted to tell you this cuz I find it weird but kinda cool. I am from EU and despite all of the media you are in top 3 reasons I love N.Y. City and hope to see it soon. (Random af, I know, but your content and your overall vibe had this effect over me so yeah. Now more than ever I can't wait to see that legendary place.)
i bought it after your BYB cuz of how fun you said it was, and man were you right. it is such a great game, between the parkour and the gameplay mechanics i just feel like such a badass. unfortunately, the story is really poorly executed, and my biggest complaint is no cross-gen coop. my brother has a series x and i have a one x and we can’t play together even tho we’re both xbox. so whack but it is what it is, i’m still loving it
I've been playing it since it dropped, and I would recommend people let the day one patch download before playing it. It almost corrupted my external hard drive on my PS4, but turning it off, leaving it for like an hour, and turning it back on fixed it. I'm not sure what caused it, but the game froze and then it happened, which didn't take very long. It happened in the main menu and then the start of the tutorial.
The day one patch is 20GB on PS4, which is a lot for a day one patch, and is why I say to wait for that to finish since it might take a minute for some. I let it finish and everything is fine now. Multiplayer is a bit buggy, but I'd recommend getting upgrades and learning the game more anyways.
My biggest thing is that it feels like the first game. It feels like Dying Light, which is something to say because it started to look like it wouldn't feel the same at some points in the advertising. Even the new designs for some of the zombies fit in perfectly, and they even have a good reason for it in the story, if you watch the intro cutscene. First impressions, I'm at least satisfied.
2 hours in and I am really enjoying it. The gameplay is awesome and the graphics just mind blowing. DL 1 didn't have a great story and I loved it so not too phased about it for this one. Thanks for the candid review Jake.
