The man's a legend, you might recognize his products from his trademark laughing skull glyph, or even his extensive line of survival knives. As Rachael Pointed out, he had his own TV show for a bit (which as you can probably tell from this comparably short video, was like HBO dialed to 11), and he also wrote 'the' guidebook for navigating the world's hot spots. He's the most American American to ever be born in Canada.

This is the unfortunate reality about why so many African nations are caught in tremendous strife. It's a state of constant instability as one power-hungry leader or group tries to wage war for personal gain and valuable resources, and the people are always having to rebuild their lives because of these conflicts.
It saddens me because I was elated for South Sudan when they gained independence and hoped that they could have a unified country free from Northern oppression and corruption. Now it seems that nothing has changed except the corrupt officials in power.
God bless South Sudan and all of its African neighbors.

Africa has a massive amount of potential yet lack of educated people continue to haunt the continent. The rich who receive adequate education end up leaving to become doctors and such in Europe and the Americas because there is no way to make money in their native land. A proper educational system would completely change Africa. The money is there to build it, but corrupt politicians keep the money amongst themselves and it never is seen by the people. Everyone is commenting saying religion is causing this violence and while that is part of the problem it is not the sole reason. If people actually understood their religion they wouldn't go around killing people just because they're not of the same set of beliefs. That goes back to being uneducated. They don't actually know what they believe in, they just think they need to rid of anyone who isn't the same because someone of higher social ranking says so. They're vulnerable and will do anything in an attempt to please superiors so they can rise up the ranks in these militias, because that's the only way to become successful in life it seems. Without an education there is almost nothing else they can do. It's nearly impossible to get a good job in America without even a college degree, let alone not even having a basic primary schooling education. Africa has everything they need at their disposal (resources, people, land, etc.) and can fix itself without the help of foreign governments, they just need to use the right tools. That tool is education.

Yep, created a lot of unnecessary strife all over the continent. People that had no historical or cultural affiliations were forced into contraptions that left them at odds, while external forces did all they could to maintain these countries, usually by supporting one side or the other. Ultimately, the Africans have to sort themselves out. The organic evolution of country/states with willing members has to occur, sometimes painfully and slowly.

Some old apartments I lived in, in Georgia housed some of the lost boys. They were some of the coolest, sweetest guys. My sister and I still laugh about one incident with one of them. I guess he (Abraham) had never had Starbust before. My sister gave him one, and he ate the entire thing, wrapper and all😂. It was so cool watching them learn new things.

Read about a group of people known as the Janjaweed. They're Arab slavers from the north of Sudan who captured Dinka tribesmen and sold them in open slave markets. When I was in the Army, our battalion was being considered for a deployment there. I'd already deployed to Iraq twice (to fight a war I didn't agree with), and looked forward to deploying to Sudan and smoking some slavers (an operation I would have agreed with). No such luck, though. We were all looking forward to kicking ass for a good cause.

i am a black man but i must say bad mind and selfishness as well as tribalism run deed in black people. With all the resource that Africa have it seem that the black man never learn from his mistake all i hear it is the European fault for from it. Most of Africa has wealth national wealth and because of corruption and bad mined attitude of Africa as well as the Caribbean political leaders these regions will continue to be poor and broken black people are their worst enemy, they keep electing people who they like or who are from their own tribe and not competent individuals that can get the job done, black people are too emotional and less logical.
