  • Today's Video We Finally Get back on the S10 To Swap This from a 700r4 automatic to a 5-Speed Manual . This was alot hard work but in the end was very well paid off cause the truck is a way better daily driver now . However there Seems to be a bad vibration and shaking coming from the engine side which is not good. However there will be more content on this truck soon enough.
if you liked this video give it a thumbs up and also consider Subscribing for more content like this!!

Yeah it already had gear oil in it but that's what the guy said it takes and when you look it up the old 4-speeds took gear oil but the 5speeds take transmission fluid .
I plan on putting a 5-speed in it soon as I can find one

pausing it at the 14:30 mark - Saw the note saying it was taken a few days later. If you can't find a 5-speed T5, let me know, even though I'm fairly far from ya I think. If I'm gonna manual swap my S10, I gotta get a NV1500 since its the 90 degree one, so my old T5 is just sitting around wasting away. In 5th gear and 3.42 rear end, it actually sounded good doing 65 on the highway, it wasn't screaming or revving too high. I wish we had factory RPM gauges, but oh well. I can't remember exactly since its been several years, but I do remember that the shifting was nice and firm even at 200K on the odom. Also in that earlier pic, I saw the dark blue S10, wish I could take that bed off! Everything around here is red, black, white, or light blue and its a bummer, lol. My bed's all rusty under the fender flares and on the bottom where the bed bolts to the frame.

Yeah I'm for sure looking for a 5-Speed , I don't like this 4-speed really at all considering how i have to take off in second gear and not 1st cause it's to low of a gear and I fixed the exhaust more and drove around the block slow and the trans whines in 1st and 3rd and reverse so with all that I need to find another one .
I actually have a cluster for this truck I'll swap in once all of the other things are fixed with this trans . It actually has the factory tac in it I got from a 2.8 4speed manual 4×4 s10 blazer but it has to be rewired for my plug harness cause I tryed one before and gave up all because it wouldn't make the gauges work . It caused them to all pegg out when turned key on but this time I got the main harness plug so I can repin mine or swap it over .
That blue one at junkyard was mint , I really wanted alot more parts from that truck they say it had been there a year and engine was bad . Door panels I should have gotten cause it was the Tahoe model so it was loaded and had the door pockets I been looking for and change holder for the driver panel too and wiper delay that's rare to find . However it didn't have a tac but had the aluminum Dash bezels which I should have gotten to but I'm sure the truck is gone now cause they never waste time to crush something at that yard and it's a yard where they pull everything for u so prices aren't so cheap
I live about a hour from Charlotte nc

Dang, man, if its still not one thing, its another. I'm pretty sure I'd be raging behind the scenes if I had to remove and install a tranny more than once, heck I'd rage if I did it only once only to find out something went wrong, ya know? Its a dang bummer for sure. I'm sure a T5 would be much better for that truck. I'd figure the 4-speed would be roughly the same thinking how the gear ratios work and all, but having that 5th gear does do good. I'm in the tri-cities, TN area. I sure hope they didn't trash the blue S10, fingers crossed. What's this place called?@@KnuckleHeadGarage27

@@danieln.285Man you just don't know how bad and frustrating this whole thing has been . I've just about had it with the problems over and over again . I drove that clapped out old engine for a long time and never once did a single thing to it or the truck itself besides just oil changes and such . Then the new engine goes in and then my trans goes out on me 2 weeks later with no warnings at all ha I've had nothing but problems and trying to upgrade certain things along the way as I go but yeah I haven't really been able to enjoy the truck or new engine at all . My main problem is finding the correct FLYWHEEL 82-87 cause apparently the ones I used is not actually the correct one
The one I need will have a weight on it like the flexplate did but no vehicle at yards here has a s10 in those years with a manual 2.8

Yeah with all problems it has as of now . It's so much easier to drive stronger when I step my foot on it . Other than the horrible vibration the engine seems more happy with less weight on it to pull around and even at idle

Yeah The T5's took DEX 2 but sence they don't make it I'd use DEX 3 in the T5 but the old T4s apparently had gear oil in them

Is your truck's motor balanced correctly? I had a truck with 2 bent piston rods and it did something similar, it was just out of balanced maybe

Yeah I've been doin a crap ton of searching and research on this and some of the fourms and come to find out the one I got even tho it was from a 83 S10 carbureted 2.8v6 it is not the correct flywheel and that it is missing the little weight that the flexplate uses and the one I got is mad differently and without that weight that's why its shaking really horribly.
I have been on the search trying to find the correct one and no-one has it . 82-87 only flywheel
