Great question! I don't have the exact spec. If you can't find it one suggestion is to inch up on it with your torque wrench when you remove them to get close to the orig spec. Good luck!
hello, thanks for the video, i have a 2016 xc60 with same system haldex 5, can you tell me is that the way you drain the oil by removing the pump? is there not a drain plug? i have watched some VW videos and there is a drain plug to use first then remove the haldex? going to do mine soon so keen to know. kind regards
Hi, thanks for the video I changed the oil at 200,000 km Because I found out later that it must be replaced, among other things the dealer tells me that oil replacement is not foreseen however the ceck still calls me the awd shutdown, the pump may have broken, I can disassemble it to clean it or I have to replace it with a new Thanks
@@jasonochoada3083 U can buy Borg Warner Pump it costs in EU 178 Euro or Bosch. Its the same produkt as such for Volvo ,Skoda , VW , Opel. All u need is to calibrate it after install at 0 and at 40 Ampers
@@R0stumwandler hank you very much for your interest the mechanic has checked and says that the pump is working unfortunately it comes off for electrical reasons so I wonder did it happen only to me? in volvo to check they asked me for 180 € and to eventually replace the piece and I don't know what an incredible 2000 € could be!
@@mauriziogargiulo7373 hey, the Borg Warner pump cost about 230$. Its a new item. Or u can buy one from VW it will be cheaper that direct from Volvo. The only one problem is the calibration. u need VIDA and DICE for this step and u cant skeep it.
When u dont take the Oilpan out , ur job is only 20% of Success because all of these dirt and clutchsand (Haldex is a wetclutch) is there and ur pump will look the same (Bad) after 500km.U can check it in VIDA because when the pump is dirty in the same load it takes different Ampers when it is clean. ill done it already ,its not just words...for volvo u should use VIDA to bleed the pump , its going about 60 seks and pump will run at max pressure 2 times. than check the Oillevel again.
Great comments 👍 Another option is to drive a while and then drain/ fill again to dilute the particulates. Here in the US it's not easy to source VIDA for the newer cars like my 2016+.
@@jasonochoada3083 thats correct it is online service now for cars after 2017.Ive tryed it at P3 Platform , means xc60 and v60 MY2017 and it works. With new Platformcars it is not working. ive had luck with my 2013 xc60 and china DICE ) when u do it with drivin, make sure that the pump after cleaning has some oil inside! good luck)
Good to know. What is confusing here is which hardware will work. Official VIDA is hard to find and expensive, while clones have mixed quality and success.
@@jasonochoada3083 Thats another Problem, at the AliExpress u can buy one (ive paid 70€) , it must be with Blue motherboard, but software that they deliver is creep - not working or should be installed only on W7 Pro (what i tryed) or smthing else .Ive found one thats working even with W10 at Russian forum , they made it in En and Ru languages
Excellent video. Do you happen to know toque spec for pump bolts?

Yes I've watched those same videos. There is a drain plug for the differential but not for the pump reservoir unfortunately. Thanks for the comments 👍

It's easy to clean the pump rinse it out with clean oil but if it's still not working it's probably an electrical failure...

It depends on the type of failure. Sometimes it helps sometimes it too late and the pump is burned. Always take the oilpan off to clean it all.

Check out the guy volvosweden on youtube, he has a complete video on how you set the correct level of oil in the haldex 5.
Yup that guy is very good! Thanks!
