I’m interested in this processor and I agree that it would pair nicely with the RND MBP. Your song used during the demonstration is really nice.
Great presentation and unit, Mitch! I really enjoyed your EP track!!
My man can cook! Love the ep song, gonna call you steely from now on 🤙
Sounds absolutely amazing!!! Do I need to sell my house to buy this now!!!
Yes, but it’s worth it. 😉
Great track Mitch, really enjoy your music. Nice presentation (as usual) here with the MBT. Keep rocking brother.
From 9:42 - 9:58 or so, you can hear a lot of added noise when the unit is engaged. As he's switching the unit in and out, that noise is quite a lot. Hmmm.
No way, they did it again! Holly.....what a beauty!
Full mix was crispy af 👌
Definitely on my wishlist!
It’s all in the transformers, EVERYTHING
Link is broken to the product page. FYI.
I'm curious. How would the MBT sound on orchestral music? From what I'm hearing in this video, I think it could work really nicely!
I don't believe the product is available yet, I can't find any mention of it online outside of this video.
Wow, mind blown 🤯 Thank you for sharing this demo, beautiful track by the way Mitch.
Wow, what a fantastic piece of equipment! Question Can you connect this to a compressor or any other type of equipment
Hello, Hector! You most definitely can have the Master Bus Transformer in a chain with any other piece of outboard gear. It has a compressor on board, but there is nothing to say you couldn’t have another stereo compressor either before or after it. It also has both input and output trim control to help with gain staging.
Thanks for the interest!

is that not just like the ssl fusion ? i don't believe would sign of for something like this
WONDERFUL....
Needs to be gain matched. +8 plus on the compressor output.
Gain matching is nonsense. 90% of the time you'll use this unit to get more juice out of your source, which means it will add gain to your signal. Totally legit real-world scenario.
@@dirface Not a fan of A/B'ing, eh? I don't think people are spending 4k to replace their Avid Trim plugin
I hear that a lot of producers have issues finalizing their tracks, making it sound more official. I feel like this type of gear/equipment would be the solution. I wouldn't say eggs in a basket, but then again who knows.
Awesome!!!🌟🌟💯💯
Of course they give Mitch Gallagher prima noctae on the video
Mitch!!!
What are those rubber feet under the unit?
Would a Neve orbit 5057 be needed if I had this?
Hi there! You could certainly still run the 5057 if you have the Master Bus Transformer. They actually serve very different purposes. The MBT is adding processing on a stereo input channel and then sending that back out in stereo. The 5057 is taking up to 16 channels and “summing” those into a stereo output to plug back in. Aside from adding some color, there isn’t much processing going on with the 5057. Summing mixers are a bit of a confusing concept, but the article below really helps explain the how and why:
www.sweetwater.com/insync/does-analog-summing-make-a-difference/
So, you could get a fantastic sound from running both of those together, or in completely different parts of your mixing and mastering process.
I hope this helps!

@@sweetwater thanks so much! You guys are awesome! And thank you for the article too. Helps a lot!
SSL fusion competition
Its the most solid unit from ssl. I see why but i dont understand this as a product.
excuse me, but I don't understand your reply, could you explain your pov pleave?

Not available in UK… designed and manufactured but not available to buy??? Am I missing something?
RND are designed and built in Wimberley, Texas. Rupert moved there in the mid 90s. AMS Neve (separate entities), though, are all designed and built in the UK. This RND unit should be available in the UK soon. They build in small batches, so not widely available yet.
Can we run mono sources such as running a lead vox track to it
Hello, great question! In theory you could do that as long as the vocal track was already at line level (i.e. you cannot plug your mic directly into the processor). You would also want to bypass the “stereo width” section. In practice you would be much better off using a standard channel strip for that application, such as the RND Shelford channel. That has a preamp, and the compressor and EQ are designed specifically for what you’re trying to do.
Thanks!

RUPERT VS EVERYBODY
Please use other songs also besides the usual suspects. Good review
The link is no good!
Link is not working 😅
it's not out yet
Rupert taxes too much for their HW. Thing is 4 grand.
Just call em sub groups…
❤👍
I’m. Guessing 4k
Not quite. $4700 😂
@@BenChambless Wrong. It's 3,999 according to the Sweetwater website.
When have been way cooler if he guessed the right number to begin with 😂
@@dougleydorite I think @christopherpederson1021 did exactly that - didn't he?

I want it so bad......but can't afford it 😢
Make it happen, my friend. It's worth every penny.
Way TOO expensive!!!
Always is
Welcome to the world of outboard gear. This is almost exactly the price I expected before clicking on it. A stereo buss compressor that doesn't do anything else is $2000.
Almost 4K!
The SSL Fusion Analog Master Processor comes at half the price of this. Now that processor looks like a steal :)
Indeed. But IMO no company makes a comparable piece of gear in terms of sonic quality. But yeah the used car prices hurt lol
How can you tell that it's not an objective opinion but rather paid promotion. When the person doing the review says 'we have' instead of 'they have.
Could mean that they have it in their store perhaps, not sure though
It's a store, telling you about a new product in their store.
Besides that, this seems more like a demo/new product announcement than a review.
Do you not see the irony in your statement? "Objective opinion" is a contradiction in terms, that makes no sense at all. But to second what jchase8223 said, of course it's a store showing you some samples of a new product for sale, trying to entice you to buy it. It's business, clearly. It's up to you to decide whether you think the presentation added value to you or not.
It's not a "paid promotion." It's a demo of an item they're selling in their store. This is literally the Sweetwater store's channel. Sweetwater is a major musical gear retailer. Nowhere do they claim to be gear review channel. They got a new product in and are telling you about it. Rupert Neve designs didn't pay them to make this video. The way Sweetwater gets paid is by selling the product. Just like any other company selling a product, they're telling you about its existence and showing you what it does.
Wow - Lots of mixes are gonna get destroyed by that thing.
What you mean?
People that don't know how to mix will use this as a "magic box", and ruin mixes by using too much of everything. (Kinda like multi-band compressors)
@@JaeBTundra1
If people destroy mixes with this what makes you think they weren’t going to destroy it with something else?
@@JaeBTundra1I think he means more from user error than anything else.
@@louderthangod exactly what I was thinking. You can destroy a mix at any step in the process. There's nothing especially dangerous about this piece of gear.
Ima stick with Ozone 11. Can do more for way less.
If you're so satisfied with Ozone, why are you wasting your time on an outboard gear video? Surely you knew it was a piece of outboard gear before you clicked on the video?
@@rome8180Because I have free will and can do what I want. Go eat a sneakers. 😂😂😂
@@rome8180Why you wasting your worrying about what I’m doing??

@sweetwater i could make these videos so much better. Have this guy smile and look like he is into the product instead of being held hostage for starters. He used to smile and be energetic :-(
Have some respect for Mitch ffs!
Rupert would not have approve this. The MBP already exist.
Well, this isn’t aimed for the same use. 🤔
It is not the same unit.
Both can be used in unison !
God Bless Rupert Neve 🙏🎵
God Bless President Trump 🙏🇺🇸
More or less like SSL fusion at double the price.....plugins will get pretty close at one tenth the price.
Yeah, that’s what lots of people say till they start adding good hardware and then they get hooked. I was one of those people. I’d love to sell my hardware but the difference is still real, hopefully it’ll eventually become impossible to tell the difference but that time isn’t now.
This unit is for those for whom "pretty close" is not good enough.
@@louderthangodyeah a plug in sounds close using one instance but across a whole mix a lot of "pretty close" starts to add up and a mix using a lot of hardware versus software will definitely show a large difference. I just made the switch to outboard after using only plug inside for 25 years and good hardware is in an entirely different league
4k$ for doing something that with digital plugins can be done for free… I see no reason to buy this
Brother, based on this comment I can assume you've never experienced analog outboard gear yourself. Maybe I'm wrong and you have. Once you experience it, you hear and feel the difference it makes. There's absolutely NO way a plugin can recreate what happens when audio runs through a unit like this that's loaded with custom designed transformers. It's simply impossible. If you can't notice any difference whatsoever between a plugin and analog gear, you ears are still developing and becoming a more mature audio engineer/producer. And that's ok, we're all on a journey in that regard (myself included). And I'll leave you with a parting thought - if plugins are literally all you need, why do the world's most elite producers still keep their analog gear? I know a lot of them mix in the box, but were the tracks recorded with premium analog gear? I think it's safe to say "yes".
Just sharing my thoughts, not trying to diss you at all.
Why are you wasting your time watching a video about outboard gear if you think plugins can do the same thing? Maybe they can, but then don't click on a link for a piece of outboard gear.
This is just how much outboard gear costs. The reason it costs that much is that it the parts, the research and development, the manufacturing, and the distribution all cost a lot of money. Do you complain about how much microphones cost? Or guitars?
Also, you "see no reason to buy this." So what? Just move on then. Why do you see the need to tell everyone? I see no reason to buy an expensive car, but I don't seek out Lexus videos to comment on.
@@rome8180You made the same reply to my comment. You wanna talk about it. What’s going on with you? Why does it bother you when some people say that plugins sound just as good?? Remember young one. It’s all subjective.
Do you feel some kind of power when you say, “Why waste your time watching this video if you believe plugins sound better?”
Talk me young one!!
@@dspoet1 I'm not the one watching a video about something I don't like or think is a waste of money. It's not equivalent at all. The equivalent would be if I went on plugin videos saying the hardware is better. You clearly didn't think this through very well.
@@rome8180why are you wasting time complaining my considerations ? No one is gonna think like you every time… Comments are made for discussion
$4000 for a hardware unit vs about $40 or so for a DAW plug-in. Hmmm......
if a plug in could do what the hardware does, all hardware companies would go out of business over night. but in reality, the hardware is WAY better sounding. I wish it wasn't so but its reality.
Plugs sound close on a single source, like one instance, but as a cumulative thing, hardware wins, it will destroy a bunch of plugins versus a lot of outboard. Good news is most people listen on less than ideal speakers so does it even matter??
@@wyrlismike That's why I take inexpensive guitars and pedals to gigs instead of my vintage stuff. As long as it sounds good enough, people are entertained. Well, except for that one guy with crossed arms in the back because I'm playing a Squier instead of a Fender.
@@jfrankcarr what exactly is worse with the squire? I come from a Gibson family but have had an American made strat for double tracking!!!
@@wyrlismike Nothing 'worse', just a different, a more modern feel. I also do guitar tech work on the side so I can usually adjust any newer guitar where it's comfortable to play.
