I have been riding the Exie for a little over two months now and can confirm everything Dustin is saying. I have ridden many mountain bikes, but nothing quite like this Exie… It absolutely shreds uphills like you wouldn’t believe. When you turn it downhill it feels like a 130-140mm bike that wants to jib and play all day. It is an absolute joy and leaves you grinning ear to ear. If you dont believe me, go demo one. Bring your wallet.
Great video Dustin!
Charles summed up the whole video in just one paragraph! Well Played!
Those are bold words saying its like a 140mm bike. I might get the Exie and I really hope you are right.
It looks like a perfect bike to me. I enjoy riding trails similar to those you ride on. Thanks for sharing your thoughts !
Appreciate you Chuck! 🤜🤛
DK and the bike - Rowdy and Cantankerous... loving the vibes..
P L A Y E R !
Yo DK, that mushroom looks like a false chanterelle. The gills end really abruptly, which is usually what I go by. If it is false it's not poisonous but not worth eating.
Love that Ibis, the flowing trails, and that DK character is alright too. 👌
My Man!
I love my Cross Road Down Country Gravel Mountain Bike -- Gravelanche!
Sounds Dreamium
Love your Pros Closets commercials! I have an Ibis Ripley and it comes in at 27.5lbs. Love the bike.
Looks like a perfect day out, new bike, exploring a new trail, a little lost, a little sketchy, lovely fall colors.
First time viewer here. I'm never watching any other channels' bike reviews. Ever again. This guy.
🤜❤️🤛 you are a player
Hay! Just like a video game. You were like a big yellow Mario leaping all over level 3. Look out for Bowser!
I always get stuck at Bowser!
It feels a lot like gravel bikes are just the gateway drug to a good lightweight cross country bike.
Facts!!!
Like the Niner MCR, full sus gravel bike haha.
Love the video and the awesome edits ... thank you for sharing 🤙 🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it
First ever dklein vid that felt like an Ad/commercial vid for me. Still watched it. Once in awhile izz kool. ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great vids Bro, if I were 50 years younger, I’d love to shred those trails too hahaha! Crazy stuff I’d like to do too, super fun man!
If you're going to "explore" new trails in the wilderness, yeah, flat pedal shoes are the way to go, lol.
You did your part
“What was Ibis thinking??”
“I freakin love it!”
I’m confused
wait wut
@@EverythingsBeenDone I think he's suggesting the title is a tad click baitey...
@@EverythingsBeenDone your title and thumbnail
Compared to your opinion
Funny part is, DW link pedals so well I'd probably take the remote lockouts off an Exie. I own its big brother the Ripmo and literally only ever use the rear lockout on fire roads or pavement, and there is no front lockout because the fork has split high/low speed compression.
You're riding downcountry one handed, that's a total endorsement!
Player!
It looks very much like the lighter brother of the Ripley LS (v2/v3). The geo is similar.
Totally agree!
@@EverythingsBeenDone
Still love my v2 Ripley LS. Rides like a dream.
Definitely first service approved riding gear
Reporting for duty!
Really consistent sounding audio across this video. Are you using a clip on microphone or is this all in camera? Thanks!
In camera across 2 camera.
Where is this trail ?
Go that way
🤣😂
Agree on the aesthetic
Dude, love the bike, great review. Was admiring your cycling cap in this video, is it a Dklein custom, or is made by a brand. Is it waterproof?
that cap is a fjallraven x specialized cap that I took the logos off of. Its not waterproof but it is water resistant.
@@EverythingsBeenDone Good to know, thanks player!
Inspiratie bij pacman, niam niam trails! 😜
🤣😂
Damn, you make me want this bad boy!!!
It’s at least worth trying to demo.
You definitely should try some downcountry bikes with modern geo and 120mm of front and rear travel. By the way exie is so close to it
What number GoPro do you use?
I have 8 bikes, totallying $11,500 minus two bmx's of the eight none have deore xt.. closer two $15000 with them. Dustin...... Care to share how many bikes you have?
How would you compare this bike to the salsa cutthroat with a front shock?
Having both a Cutty and a similar Mtb (Oiz TR). When I wanna go fast or do a leisure bike packing ride I take the cutthroat, when I want comfort on bumpy roads and do some technical stuffs and jumps I take the full sus. Love both of them. Thé Cutty even with an XL bar and front SUS does not handle easily on the downs and bumps are hard on your back
Does the Exie have that in bike feeling or do you feel on top of it?
Such a great question!! It very much has an in bike feeling! Very comfortable very stable. The longer I have this bike the more I appreciate it!
Dream bike. What does it weight?
26lbs
HAAAAAHHHAAHAHHAAAA....
Sorry you lost me at "more affordable" lol
$4499 Just for a Frame set :DDD
Made in a solar -powered factory? One would think that frameset should be even cheaper still.
$US as well. Pass
Deekaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy
😊
Your comment of it being "double organic" made me think of the Vaast A/1 I bought recently. Love the bike and they're all about being eco friendly. Check em out if you get a minute!
Where are trails like this near Seattle?
Duthie?
@@tanpen15 Nah, Duthie is in a neighborhood. This is looks like miles of beautiful single track. Nearby Duthie there is a very short ride called Grand Ridge but this looks like 20+ miles of it. So nice.
We mostly have groomed Park/Tail riding stuff in Seattle so far that I have found. For trail folks WA is like one of the best places to live world (Tiger, Duthie, Galbraith) but for XC/Singletrack stuff I have yet to find anything this good. I think the closest I've found in near Roslyn maybe in Teanaway?
Bellingham ;)
@@EverythingsBeenDone Just the XC trail that goes around Galbraith I haven't tried it yet but I thought it was short! I will do it this winter for sure.
You rode a skinny? Oh my!
Hopefully you found out already but that wasnt a chanterelle! Plz dont eat
Side note your mtb handling skills are noticeably improving
I didn't eat that one, Thank you for the skills complement!
Retro styled bike. Keep living the 2011 dream with modern 2022 pricing
Could you explain more?
Oh boy race that thing
I did!!!
Not a chanterelle…but great video otherwise
I’m tryin here
Not to be a downer but that bike sells for about $9,000 -- yikes!
There is a 7k build option
I don't think thats a chanterelle, hope you didn't eat it and get poisoned or something
Definitely not a chanterelle.
@@redwoodJB What is it then? I'm aspiring to recognize edible mushrooms myself. Be good to know what look-alikes look like.
@@MattKremer it's hard to say from the short clip but potentially a milk cap (lactarius), or russula.
Looks like an old Jack-O-Lanten (Omphalotus olearious.) Might not kill you but it sure will make you sick af.
Chunderlicious?
🤤
Good god, what’s the soundtrack from? Super Nanny? This is becoming sterile corporate stuff.
What do you mean?
Carbon Fiber, not in the budget.
Maybe used?
yeah, it's ugly haha
Too much💰 for that 🤷♂️
ibis frames are fugly af
Which ones do you like?
Your Bell helmet is cooler than their bike.
That helmet IS so rad!
