Nor should it. They were entirely within their rights to do what they did. The bullshit they went through is nothing short of disgusting and deserved to be called out.
Guess it’s somewhat up for interpretation…. Of course if the song is 100% focusing on those who were being disrespectful then it’s fully justified. However, it does also sort of feel like they’re fed up with the fans who are genuinely just hoping for the best music possible from them - sort of disregarding genuine criticism and piling everyone’s comments into the same boat as those using Tom’s name to disrespect them. Just my thoughts anyways!
@@DrewFortune97 I get where you are coming from with lines like "Why do you want me to scream? Are you a junkie punk medicating for free?" But with lines like "We're like one big family Gee, thanks so much (for the death threat)" I think it all got way too personal and just because people didn't like the new direction.
It's so obvious when people have not actually listened to FTTWTE and TCSOABS properly. They have released a good handful of tracks that I would certainly consider better than this. But I only like some BMTH songs so maybe that's why I don't like this song as much.
@@Lewis1995Honestly I used to think of it the same way, but it really grew on me, and their two recent albums have some of my favourite tracks from them (doomscrolling, Ordinary Extinction, Demigod etc.)

To me, Seeing Red was directed at the so called "fans" who used Tom's death to pick at them and gave them death threats for changing their sound. It's not an attack on all fans, it isn't an attack on people who just don't like their new music, it was a response to dickheads who said the most vile stuff to them just because they disliked FTTWTE and TCSOABH
I totally agree. If you consider yourself a fan of the band and don't send them death threats then the song was not aimed at you. I feel the band were overdue for some clap-backs at this point, given the BS they've had to deal with over the past few years.
This is definitely my favorite post-Holy Hell song. You can feel Jordan’s influence and I love it. I really hope he produced the whole album that this ends up being on.
Jordan knows how to incorporate catchy/alternative style into metalcore without abandoning what makes the genre great in the first place. He's what their last album was needing
I'm no expert but i remember reading that architects and bring me sort of "came up together" as bands and they're all friends, I'm not a huge bring me fan in terms of their older stuff, loving their newer stuff though, but yeah this track is great, and i really loved seeing red as well. I disagree with the whole "butthurt" thing, i think they're entirely justified in being pissed off with people trying to make them feel like Tom wouldn't be proud of their work since his passing. That's a fucking horrible thing to say to anybody, let alone Tom's brother and close friends and band mates.
I don’t get the comment about the riffs being back. Riff have always been there, especially in fttwte a lot of very good technical riffs. Yeah classic symptoms maybe had less but definitely still have them
Drew I had to watch your review of Zombie by the Cranberries which I would never have heard and I have watched both videos. I am a Baby Boomer and did not know about these groups but what drew my interest in the song is that it is now the "Theme Song" for videos of the American Fighter Pilots here in the USA. It is extremely appropriate considering the mess the world is in and how involved the USA is.
@@aniruddhadey1469exactly. Cool mix, catchy sound but nothing extraordinary. I would call it a “metal song for radio” Nevertheless added to my playlist, worth to listen to
I’ve preferred these last two singles more than anything on their last two albums, the last one especially. If they are back on this wagon then I am fully ready for the ride!
Please make a reaction to Architects' Daybreaker album. It's previousr Lost Forever - Lost Together, and it's somewhat alike to it. So you will definitely like it, as LF-LT
This Song is great and will for sure grow on me with time. BTW, Architects have nothing to be sorry for and if someone thinks they were butthurt for putting Seeing Red out then ure actually the butthurt one.. xD
Agreed while I understand why they were mad it does feel a bit disrespectful to older fans, kinda like a middle finger. But Curse is a heck of a lot better defs gonna have this one on repeat for awhile
Not a gossip queen or even using social medias but i'm quite sure when he left Bring Me, Jordan said that from now he will focus on producing and not being part of a band anymore, where he finds himself more comfortable !! So, might be an answer!! 😉
There is only one band that reached the album quality of "Architects - All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us" and that is Currents with their "The Death We Seek" album. We all know who wrote the Architects songs back then and that's why that quality will never be back. But I think after a pretty mediocre "The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit" album, Architects are decent again. The last 2 releases were nice.
I'm sorry but why exactly are people so up in arms over why this particular band decided to change things up? It happens all the time for better or worse and yes you'll still get plenty arguing about it, but why Architects singled out have so much shit thrown this way and that over what they do?
This song is definitely better than anything in the last few albums. And I dont mean it as a hater. I'm glad they do whatever they please. It's just not for me. I still don't dig this song. But definitely better.
Solid song tbh, nothing too crazy but I much much prefer it to Seeing Red and the vast majority of the last album. That chorus is sooo catchy and the production on the cleans fucks.
Solid stuff. Could be a grower unlike Seeing Red which I found to be cheesy and butthurt. Dare I say this would have been top 3 of the last album. Now I hope this one is one of the weaker ones on the next album because then it might actually be a great album. Overrall after first listen I'll give this one 7.8/10 for now. Gonna have to give it a couple more listens to maybe make it to 8.
Very much agree with you on Seeing Red. While I want to believe it isn't adressed at people solely criticizing their new output on a creative basis I definitely felt alienated by them basically telling us "here you have your blegh and your breakdown. Hope you enjoy it, asshole." as if that was the criticism the non-lunatics voiced or what made their music special. I get their frustrations and can't blame them for writing the song but can't help but walk away from it like a very vocal unhinged minority drowned out the more reasonable criticisms. Oh and this song is pretty good but with the (pre)chorus being more than half of it, it feels like a radio cut of a more interesting full length version to me lol
@@whatisahandleplz he must be utilizing that new GetGood drums. I keep seeing those ads with Matt and Misha. I always watch those all the way through because of how funny they are xD
This sounds like any of the filler tracks on Classic Symptoms (For context I enjoyed that album), yet people are saying it's the best thing since Holy Hell? You all have zero consistency to your criticism. No wonder they wrote Seeing Red.
Everything cool, except the growl voice, that one feels that it is not suited to his type of voice, in short one feels that it is very true, he tries!...
Love this! This is my kind of music and I’m happy they continue with their catchy choruses. This will sound amazing live. I have only one criticism here. Sam’s low sound a bit amateur-ish compared to his mids and highs.
Seeing Red OR Curse?😳
Curse big time
Right now I’m gonna say seeing red but this will probably grow on me
So far, Seeing Red, but I'm sure Curse will grow on me.
Both are good
Curse and it’s not even close. I can actually listen to this without cringing my balls off
People gave them death threats and used Toms name to get to them. I think Seeing red will never be a regret to them
