Golgotha Compendium is everything I’ve needed. The crescendoing energy from the chants to Andrew’s leads through to Matthew’s screams are excellent, and I love how we get like three reps of this all with different variations.
Its honestly such a crescendo for Eidola, like all of Eidola's albums have all come to this just absolute magnus opus that is Golgotha. It has so many layers & shows all the culmination of the growth Eidola has done over the years. Its honestly the best song theyve made so far.
i didnt like who of you will perservere at first either, but then it grew on me right before the album dropped and then that damn chorus was stuck in my head the whole week leading up to the album
When Andrew first came in with the cleans in "A Bridge Of Iron And Blood" the highs were so reminiscent of early Of Mice and Men to me for some reason 😂
This album has just grown on me more and more over the course of the year, easily my favorite Eidola album now and I’m so stoked to hear how Mend turns out Bridge of Iron and Blood, The Weight of Sin, He who pulls the strings, Fistful of Hornets, Ziggurat, and Fifth Temple are among the best songs they have ever released
God Takes Away Everything instantly shot up to my top 10 songs of all time. Eidola never disappoints and I'm unbelievably hyped for Mend after this masterpiece
I was looking forward to your reaction! I'm glad you uploaded it right away! I definitely feel the same about this and Mend being my AOTY, and I definitely had the same reaction when listening to God takes aways everything 😂
This is up there with Erras new release. It has the Eidola we are familiar with but with a mix of the heavy Eidola that was sprinkled here and there in their previous work and it is phenomenonal, loved every moment.
Yeah, this is album of the year for me, at least until Mend comes out. This entire album is like, peak Eidola. The guitarwork was crazy, Andrew's screaming was awesome, there's just so much. Favorite tracks are No Weapon Formed Shall Prosper, Ziggurat, and Kali Yuga. The closing track with the piano is also very, very beautiful.
Despite loving Andrew in dgd, eidola has never hit the same for me I'm not sure why. BUT this album is likely to become my aoty on continuous listens because damn these new songs are top tier. I do wanna recommend you check out The OverBloom's new album called Just; Humane. It needs more attention for how good it is.
I'm sure you definitely have to check one of the most amazing, one of a kind and the only album with this kind of atmosphere and sound in Post-Hardcore/Metalcore as Of Machines - As If Everything Was Held In Place.
I agree with you on this album bro it’s very creatived and good but my album of the year so far is While She Sleeps Self Hell an my second favorite album for me on the year imminence the black released yesterday an my third album is bloom album the one you reacted to as well very good to bro
As a Brit hearing "who is Winston Churchill? I think I've heard of him before" is absolutely hilarious 😂 He's the prime minister who took the UK through the second world war
Man I know you’ve been looking forward to this but I have to give my objective take.. if we aren’t being honest what’s the point of sharing thoughts. Hated this album. The 2 teasers got me kind of excited. But to me, every song sounds the same, from the structure to the lyrics. There were 7-8 segments that I enjoyed and I thought were put together nicely. I feel like upon revision, the songs could’ve been structured in ways that allowed them to flow more fully. I think their next album will be close to their masterpiece. I feel they’re still working on perfecting the sound on this one. Maybe they’ll grow on me, and I’m hoping they do because it seems like there’s a lot to unravel. We’ll see
“My objective take” is the definition of a subjective take 💀 Hopefully it grows on you. I personally think this is their best work and a really impressive album overall
I love how everyone is a prisoner of the moment. One listen and it's OMG Album of the year!! Until you hear the next bands new album and then it's OMG album of the year!! The album, while good, has only been out for like 16 hours. Digest it more before jumping on the Internet hypebole train.
Normally, you know when u first hear an album, just too many standout moments on this one. Plus with that title maybe more click equals more people to check out this awesome band.
Dude this is up there with Boundaries for me. This was way heavier than I was expecting and blew my expectations out of the water. Also, Andrew went crazy. I can’t believe he screamed on every freaking song, more than Brandon even!
This record plus the architect has solidified Eidola as one of my favorite bands ever.

I love that Andrew did so many screams on this record, his scream is sooooo good
Honestly prefer Andrew’s screams to Matt’s even though I think this is the best Matt has ever sounded
@@frozenandchosen Agreed - Matt captivated me in this album like in no other - He's crazy good in fistfull of hornets
Wait where does he scream?
@@XandycamX a lot of places on the album, most notably the intro to Bridge of Iron and Blood and a bulk of Fistful of Hornets

You're not the only one who thought that hahah I hear it every time
When he belts out "Holy Fire" in Ashes I swear I felt like old Killswitch was engaged for a second
Bruh I have been looking for this comment

Still confused on who mend is from. Is it upcoming?
It's technically a double album, Mend is coming either later this year or early next. It's kinda gonna be softer/melodic album.
@@jake72509 still planned for this year - it's already finished
so much metalcore with this one, love to see it

ERRA's is way better. This album is so muddy it just all blends together in one 52 minute song, it seems like. Little to no variety.
This album was everything I wanted and more. The boys killed it!

I'm the opposite, I don't really like him with dgd but adore him with eidola
The Architect was fire, but this eats TA the fuck uppp!!
Phenomenal work, for just half of the project!
Architect was much better, IMO.
My favorite album of the year. Just above ERRA for me. Eidola is just pure creativity
This and ERRA's new album are definitely my top 2 of the year so far. Looking forward to mend but absolutely enjoying this one in the meantime.
You still need to listen to the album No Place by A Lot Like Birds! Another one of the best swancore albums ever
I'm sure you definitely have to check one of the most amazing, one of a kind and the only album with this kind of atmosphere and sound in Post-Hardcore/Metalcore as Of Machines - As If Everything Was Held In Place.
Your reaction to a bridge of iron and blood was my exact reaction too lmao

I think looking at the lyrics was really beneficial to your enjoyment of the music (from my point of view) and was a cool idea
Great reaction 🎉

PERSEVERE
I’ve listened three times through already! Easily album of the year already
Same brother, same! 🔥💪🤘🏼
Gives me Coheed vibes
I know Andrew don't want it but I would LOVE for him to take over lead in DGD now that Tililan is gone
Andrew is a way to good in eidola for me to want him to be the main singer DGD
what do you think to the album now having listened to it a few more times?
I still really like the album, I’m just waiting for mend to have a full opinion on both LPs

TPTL > REST OF THEIR DISCOGRAPHY ……….. …. ……. …… ……. …… ….. …… …… ….. …. ….. …. …. …. ….. ….. …… ………………
You mean TSTL?
Also I think I agree on that. But man. I'll have to let this one soak in.
