Thanks so much for saying that all Aktiv heads start with 0 kg of camera weight for balancing. It took me significant time to find this information. Now I can actually buy a Sachtler set up with Aktiv head.

I would triple-check this with Sachtler (I have experience with several manufacturers about min weight for balancing and it is not always what they claim exactly).

Can aktiv Fluid Head only work with Sachtler tripod? Other brands of tripods need to be equipped with Sachtler FSB8 MkII??

That is a very good question. What you can see in the video is that there is a separate base that you can connect to sliders and basically anything else with a 3/8" connector so I would say the answer should be yes if you get this base - I have yet to try this combo though.

I wish sachler would commnet on the difference between the 8 and 10 head. They have identical specs.

      I think the 8 is 75mm and the 10 is 100mm.

@@LensVid True, of course, but if you look at the specs they have identical weight, number of drag settings, etc, so does the 100 have a stronger drag? Is the 100 even a different head at all beside the little plastic ball base on the bottom? Simple basic questions which you cant find the answer for anywhere, and yet the 100mm version is over $2,200 more expensive.
