- In this video I’ve tried to cover everything about the Masking tools including the Brush, Linear and Radial Gradients tools, AI Subject, Sky, Background, Object, and People masking, and Color, Luminance, and Depth Range masking. It’s an update of a previous video that I created with all of the new features and tips included. It’s a bit longer than usual, so grab a snack, sit back, and enjoy mastering masking in Lightroom Classic!

This, and all of the tutorials in this series, are absolutely wonderful. They are well designed and presented. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into this series. This tutorial in particular was very informative!
Incredible teaching skills Julieanne, so much in here, mastering all these options gives so much flexibility in processing images. Thank you for yet another excellent tutorial 🙂
My goodness Julianne, you just keep amazing us all!
It never ends, your incredible insight and great reaching.
Thank you again!!
🤯 What a brilliant tutorial! Thank you so much. * rushes to computer to try it all out...
Great video. One feature that I rarely use is the PREVIOUS button, likely because I did not understand it. I always assumed that it applied the changes to a new selected image based on the edits made to the last image that was EDITED. But now I think it means that it will take all of the edits made to the most recent image that was SELECTED prior to the current selection, even if no new edits were made to that previously selected image. In other words, PREVIOUS refers to the PREVIOUS SELECTED image, and it does not refer to the PREVIOUS EDITED image. Is that correct?
Hi Julieanne, did as you suggested: Grabbed a snack---actually dinner---propped it and me in front of the computer, "buckled up", hit enter, sat back, and boy did I enjoy, and immensely benefit from, the ride!!! Cheers, Fred Jansohn
Amazing tutorial Julieanne...this is one of your best. Some of this I knew, but adding a ray of light to a photo was brand new to me. Brilliant.
Best masking tutorial
An incredible amount of extremely useful information. Just when you thought you knew everything about LR masks. Keep up the great work work Julieanne!
I wish I could give this multiple likes. Masks are something I use all the time but had no idea how sophisticated they can be.
