I read somewhere that Eazy E told Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg that he never hated or disliked them, he just went along with this beef because it made them all millions. Remember Eazy E was a businessman.
Eazy e was a busniess man but he was also a real dude from the streets unlike snoop dogg or dre. And there was genuine beef with the neighborhood rat snoop dog. The dog pound got jumped by bg knoccout and dresta at a golf corse.
He was a hustler from Kelly Park Compton Crips, slanging dope since 13, made about 250k and used it to fund NWA/Ruthless Records. Fun fact: At 13 he bought a '64 Impala
A lot of people don't know, Eazy E is the only rapper who could walk into any hood. Suge wasn't stupid, he knew he couldn't touch Eazy. They made a deal and that's it.
They both lost. Dr Dre lost his friend and Eazy-E lost his life. They were two people who I think had love for each other but never got to make peace with one another
I don't think it was ever a real bad beef. Like Eazy said, it made them all millions. Initially, it was about the money, but Easy made up for it by taking the beef to a higher level, making all them wealthy. It was insane how quickly Easy got sick, and showed no symptoms until he was a month from dying.
Short answer : Eazy E won Medium answer : Eazy E destroyed Dr Dre with his disses Long answer : A really talented rapper Eazy E destroyed another rappers carrer Dr Dre by dissing him really hard
Easy e was a scam who pulled the rug on everyone around him. He wouldnt have been a billionaire he would’ve probably ended up either getting sued for millions, or getting fucked over by his business partner.
Definitely agree that Eazy won the battle. Even if he never responded, the fact that he got a percentage of everything Dre did at that time makes him the winner by default. Plus, I feel like Real Muthaphukkin G's hit harder than Fuck Wit Dre Day.
Ruthless won the bigger battle too because Eazy never unleashed the Ruthless artists on Death Row like Death Row did to Ruthless. Literally everyone on Death Row tried to diss Ruthless and Eazy kept the responses to just a few artists on the Ruthless side. If the entire Ruthless label started releasing Death Row diss albums back to back they would have buried the Row
I always think about this. The beef with Dre kinda had novices and suburbanites on Death Rows side, but Ruthless was making a huge comeback before he passed thanks to his visionary building up of Bone Thugs & Harmony.
If you think about it, As much feared Suge Knight was he was cautious on doing any thing to Eazy E that made me realize how much power did Easy E hold in the street. He was a true Compton city G.
Yeah, Eazy was in good with the Crips, and Ren, IIRC was a Kelly Park Crip, so Eazy had muscle that would go to bat for him. From articles I have read and interviews I watched... Eazy was very respected in SC L.A. He brought a new genre to the mainstream and let's face facts, he was pretty much the face of N.W.A and gangsta rap.
Eazy won this by a mile. For the simple fact dude got paid during the beef 🥩 he didn’t even have to diss Dre. He did that for fun he probably wasn’t even angry.
Julio G has some stories about Eazy, like being in Eazy's car and Dre Day came on the radio, and Julio tried not looking at him. But he looked over at him and Eazy looked at him, and they both started laughing. So yeah it wasnt anything serious. Dre and Eazy lived down the road form each other in Calabasas aswell.
Eazy seemed like he was messing with Dre just for the heck of it. He doesn't strike me as the type who would publicly say too much about someone he truly hates.
The Chronic was one of the most influential albums of all time! It’s on (Dr. Dre) 187 k***um was an EP and Real Compton City Gs was the ONLY good song on it. 🤣😂
Back when Ruthless Records was started, big labels "Epic", "Columbia", "Capitol" wouldn't promote Gangster Rap. They wanted Michael Jackson. So Easy E deserves a lot of credit
@@roxannemoser He did feature a lot of rappers, Biggie two times, LL cool j, Heavy D etc... MJ rapped on a song called "Shout" released as a b-side in 2001, you can listen to it here on youtube
Rap music before 1987 was mostly innocent block party music. It was a continuation of funk. And it was mostly from NYC. That recieved major label distribution.
“Dre Day is Eazy’s payday” Eazy E won, full stop. How many rappers can say that they own their beef rival financially? That’s power control and the ultimate in your face move!
E for sure! Dre is very talented but E was a better business man. He wasn't just your average corner dealer. He would be on the Jay Z level if he had lived.
Dr. Dre is the reason I became a hip hop fan. He forms part of the foundation of rap, which says everything you need to know about his importance. And that's why it hurts to recognize that Eazy E won this battle. Even if Eazy didn't write his own raps, the content of his disses, his delivery, just overwhelmed Dre's "Dre Day." Of course you could argue Dr. Dre won the whole thing by merely staying alive, not to mention how wealthy he became afterwards. I think even Dr. Dre would recognize his loss, but it goes to show little in life actually matters, especially rap beefs.
The war part doesn’t count if someone dies and we all will someday, so I wouldn’t exactly call it a “win”. If anything, it sucks that they never reconciled and time was wasted when they could have been friends. Furthermore, while Dre has money he is still a trash human being and has a messy personal life.
@@AnonymousC-lm6tc which rapper doesn't have a messy personal life? Forget hip hop, forget even music, which entertainer is squeaky clean? Dre hitting Dee Barnes is just one of many embarrassments, however, Eazy also did shady stuff to his people (Ice Cube was just as angry at Eazy for his business practices as Dre).
@@_j_o__ I slept with Biggies wife and Im fuck mobb deep and fuck bad boy ? All to a “get money” beat? That’s the best diss track? Gimmie a break!!! No Vaseline was way better!
Yet I bet you listened to 2001 a bunch of times lmao if Eazy rapping he also a studio gangsta because he wasn't in the streets anymore , he did music and in the end he died of Aids so 🤷♂️

Too bad they wasn't able to fix their friendship before Eazy-E passed away cuz they like the business music business get in the way of their friendship and before they can fix it it was too late because Eazy-E lost his life from AIDS.
Here’s the deal. Michael Jackson. Beef with Sony. Dead. Easy E. Beef with Sony. Dead. Tupac. Trying to own his masters. Worth more to the record label dead then alive. Biggie telling his label he was starting his own label and taking all the talent with him. Dead. Whitney, Prince, and so on. This thing is bigger than music. Money is the root of all this shit. Take the blinders off.
Record Labels didn't have *NOTHING* to do with Pacs death. No Record Label killed Pac. Pac died because of gangbanging. South Side Compton Crips did. He jumped Baby Lane, Baby Lane answered back with his gun. Simple as that. The Pac killing spilled to the streets of Compton eventually. If the killing was because of Record Labels, the wars wouldn't be that heated. Don't get me wrong, them Pirus and Crips already had beef in eastside of Compton but after Pac..shiiit better duck quick.
@@jarrod5855 they said that because they weren’t on the “It’s On” track lol I like “Its On” better because the beat is better and feels like “No Vaseline”
I just plainly have to say… YOU DID PROBABLY THE BEST documentary on this Eazy-E - Dr. Dre / Ruthless Records - Death Row Records. I fortunately remember living through this short lived “beef” or “disagreement”. Thank you!!! Much props.
A couple of errors in this video so, I'm gonna have to be THAT guy: 1. It's MC Ren not "DJ Ren" 2. Saying that the D.O.C wrote for Eazy and "various other artists amongst the group" suggests that he wrote for Ren and Cube who were also ghostwriters. In fact, Ren wrote more for Eazy than Cube and D.O.C. Sorry to nitpick, but I'm a west cost hip hop fan especially when it comes to 90's hip hop, so these kinds of things are common knowledge.
Big Ups 👍🏽☝🏾👊🏽 for pointing out them errors. People til this day always think Ice Cube wrote all Eazy's verses, when it was actually Mc Ren writing the majority of Eazy's verses. On the eazy-duz-it album- Ren wrote- 6, Ice Cube- 2, D.O.C- 2, Dr.Dre- 1
@@DaMixWizard exactly bra. I'm glad you recognize. Real fans from the beginning know. The cats who became interested after the Straight Outta Compton movie have to do their homework.
I mean don't get me wrong, I like Diverse Mentality's videos and respect the time he put into making them, but I could tell he probably just gathered a bunch of random info here and there and kind of pieced it all together. But like I said, a lot of that stuff is common knowledge, so those kinds of errors could've been avoided if he had that knowledge.
Also dre and eazy were in a d.j group together called high powered production sick of this idea that dre just told eazy to make ruthless records one day.
Dr Dre was the best musician and an amazing producter, but the combination of those photos of him in world class wreckin cru, and him bragging about being a gangster made him look like a phony. Eazy E was always cooler, and a real motherfucking G
I feel like Eazy didn’t know the business as much as Jerry Heller did. Jerry Heller was the one who broke up NWA and caused that beef between Dre, Cube and the rest of NWA. RIP Eazy
@@Brandon_093 eazy won the diss battle, but dre won overall. listen, e was a smart guy but if he just signed those contracts to release dre then none of this would've happened, and he'd most likely still be alive and well. he was a greedy man and completely screwed over his friend
As much people can say Dre lost I'd take the L all day if I get to influence hip hop like Dre did to me both won And the only thing that saddens me is that they could've won a lot more together
@@slaydavis7360 those were ice cubes lyrics. Cube was already in a group if not eazy would have never been a rap artist at all. If Dre and Cube didn't stitch that thing together eazy would've just been another rap label owner. Although I give the battle to eazy they really all needed each other.
I'm a 44yr old man from Chicago & just watched your video & I agree 100% with you my brother. Yes Dre sold more albums but Easy-E wife & Ruthless Records survived so long after Easy-E died because Easy-E made so much $$ off Dre + his own label. Niggas will always go with Dre cuz he was more famous but real niggas no Easy-E ran L.A & had the streets on his side! Great video & u have a new subscriber in me my brother.
We won. If you were old enough to witness it in real time you were like "oh shit you hear the new diss"? So much great music came from that beef that went on to become classics. We won period.
@Danny Owens mexican rapper name toker and his brothers he got kill in 2018 in TJ mexico some say it was the cartels he had stories of eazy e and death row he was goin to release a book he was working on it but unfortunately he got killed
No one won anything in the long run. Dre lost his friend. Before you downvote, think about how Dr. Dre would react if you asked him to his face, "Hey man, who won between you and Eazy?"
You could discuss the war portion. It’s probably neck and neck. Eazy may have passed away but he’s forever immortalized as a hip hop legend. Both Dre and Eazy have solidified legacies.
He's a real G a killer at least one kill under his sheet im sure he has more...and i never heard a mainstream track dissing him by name even m&m blanks out his name & he ain't afraid 2 diss any1...from holding vanilla ice over a 10 story balcony to running over that dude during the making Str8 out of Compton...the guy sounds dangerous and not some1 to fuck with
@@johnboi6916 snoop literally has a diss track about suge and eazy literally has a line in his death row diss track wit would u do go listen them songs before u talk
I remember having this debate all the time with people and they always said the same thing that Dre was better and he taught easy e how to rap so he won but anyone who makes a diss album about another person and that same person you're dissing is getting paid for that then the guy getting paid wins both businesswise and rap wise
One thing that always gets me is Eazy never seen this as a beef but more as a business venture. Through the eyes of a hustler, you got to see how you can profit from a situation at any point of time. Also that scene in the movie pissed me off cause Suge wasnt stupid, he was almost as good a businessman as E was. And physically harming dude would end his career then and there. Say what you want, but Suge knew how to handle business as well. But Eazy literally could go anywhere and not be touched, he was good everywhere. Both sides weren't stupid and both knew that they would all profit from a beef.
like that guy said, if they touched E, they wouldve had alot of people who had Es back run against them, and that wouldve been very bad for buisness, so Suge was smart enough not to do that
E was the one and the only. He bankrolled them and made them look legit at the same time. He lived the life that they rapped about. Now e didn't have the talent to write songs or mix but he kept them from being fake.
The fact that Dr dre was scared of eazy e’s diss songs and potraying the powerful roaster that ruthless had at the time on straight outta compton has proven a lot that eazy e won 100%
What crazy is, multiple artist accused Dre and Cube of doing them bogus the same way they accused Eazy-E of doing. So either Eazy-E was a good businessman or Cube and Dre ain't shit either.
Yea you dig, check out cube's friday vicenda lol but tbh I doubt they were getting mistreated by Eazy, knowing these assholes I'm pretty sure they felt like they deserved more or what not because of their "incredible talents", but we'll never know that since we can only here these rats versions 🤷🏻♀️
Never heard anybody say or accuse dre of beating them out of money while the people accusing cube are questionable seem like they blame cube for their careers not being successful
@@thaurbanthinker543 Scott Scortch, Mel man, and Daz said Dre took credit for their production and didn't pay them. Hittman and Bishop Lamont said the same thing about Dre, that's why they left Aftermath. The list goes on and on about him

Interscope was behind Death Row. That's how they scooped Pac and got Dre out of the contract. But I can't deny Suge knew that controversy sells. Then again what Interscope artist isn't surrounded in controversy? Em. Dre. Pac. Death Row. Snoop. Lady Gaga 😂
This is really simple!!! Eazy financed everything for them and seen talent in Dre and Cube of course!!! Eazy god rest his soul was never in the wrong on this, if you start a company and are the CEO, you should make more money, period!!! If it wasn't for Eric Wright, none of them would have made any money!!! Also, Eazy never claimed to be a rapper, but when they threw him in the booth, he was awesome and amazing and had charisma and a unique voice and that's a fact!!! Eazy god rest his soul wins every single time!!!! Rip Eric
Eazy - E brought Bone, bone bone the most influential group of all time. Eazy and ruthless won imo. Eazy was ahead of his time during that era it’s not like today we’re much easier.
Bro you gotta have Alzheimer's to think Bone is more influential than Pac, Dre, Snoop, and the supporting cast. Kurupt is lyrically up there with Krazie and Bizzy. Daz is a solid producer. You talking about a well oiled machine vs a dying label.
I feel like a lot of people close to Eazy-E turned on him. They disrespected him in the movie making him seem broke after cube and Dre left. And he had bone thugs, his album went double platinum( which I didn’t know) and he made money from DRE. And I understand why Cube and Dre left but they should have been more mad at Jerry than Eazy cuz jerry wasn’t just using them he was using Eazy too. But tbh I think Dre the biggest snake. Like they didn’t even but Real Gz In the movie and that was real big.
100% agree with this!!! I don’t see why everyone saying that Eazy done cube and Dre wrong when eazy always paid them and he always looked out for Dre so I don’t understand why folks keep saying that😩🤦🏾♀️ but eazy was just to big hearted and folks took advantage of that💯
@@janiahmitchell5873 Cube had enough sense not to sign the contract before getting his people to look over it. Jerry noticed that Cube was smarter than the others and convinced Eazy that he was a trouble maker. Ruthless Records was Dre’s idea and went to Eazy because he had made his money hustling on the streets. Matter of fact, Eazy made Dre an Executive Producer and Dre just thought he was a producer who was also rapping (I don’t think he was getting paid as an artist). So when Suge showed Dre the contracts not only was he getting pimped out of records sold based on a very bad contract he signed, he actually had a percentage of the company and didn’t know but signed a contract that took away his power as executive and damned him as an exclusive producer getting the least amount out of the executives, Jerry, Eazy and Dre.
Both cube and Dre went to eazy and warned him about jerry but he sided with jerry over his actual friends cube and Dre were in the right eazy was in the wrong they were getting screwed and eazy should’ve seen that
Eazy definitely won because not only he said that one line that burns Dre's soul til probably this day, but Eazy is directly and indirectly responsible for starting many rappers careers, including Dre's.
I doubt it burns dre's soul considering after the 6 year period was up dre signed eminem and I'm guessing that made him more than he lost on the chronic.
Eazy definitely won this, but I'm having trouble understanding why the bar "but Dre day only made Eazy's payday" is even highly regarded, pretty much just saying "I need your hits to make money"
It’s crazy to find out all these years later that that Eazy was the only one in the group that actually was in the streets since Ice Cube said in an interview a few years back that his raps were really just based on stories from his friends (he said something along those lines)
I believe Suge Knight, Puff Daddy, Jimmy Iovine, know information on what happened exactly. Almost all detectives that tried investigating the case ended up being killed eventually.
Recently a FBI agent came out and said the hit that lead to the loss of Biggie was supposed to be for Diddy. I also know Em wasn't scared of Suge at all, man wanted to go after him for what he was doing to Dre.
He didint have anything to do with pac for sure but i dont know for biggie and eazy. Orlando anderson killed tupac because he was jumped by death row and tupac the night tupac was killed.
Eazy definitely won, his tracks were more creative in general, even when they didn't need to be. In the end, no matter what Dre did, "Dre Day only means Eazy's Payday"
Outside of like 1 super diss, NONE of them were radio friendly or relevant. When someone said, that Eazy is getting paid off of Dre, "that's fine". But to recover from the diss "Dre Day" - which was a huge super smash hit.... *how do you recover from that* ??? Ya can't. People don't know his level of his genius. Eazy-E would have been hip-hop's first billionaire
Who is jay Z 😂 ffs..

You don’t even have to finish this video. Neither man won. They squashed that thankfully right before E passed. We lost a pioneer of hip hop too soon, and Dre lost a close friend. “Eazy I’m still with you; Fuck the beef, I miss you and that’s just being real with you.”
You said exactly what I was thinking & was able to put it into words better than me.
That lyric was in no way from dre's heart, he didn't even write it
@@datsovietnibbaasscomrade1254 You’re right about him not writing the lyric, but you can’t say that didn’t come from his heart when he preformed it live and such. You’re not Dre. You can’t know his true feelings towards the situation
Eazy e won
@@DeathTheKidFTW998 neither are you so why you saying they made up LMAO
The whole history of NWA and the "birth" of gangsta rap has such a huge mystique around it. So much shadiness happened man... D.O.Cs "accident". Eazy e signing over Dre, eazy e dying, the meeting they supposibly had about the direction of music prior to NWA blowing up.....
Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Now that I think about it, I feel like Dre never really dropped consistently during the 90’s because he probably didn’t want Eazy’s estate getting paid for his stuff lol
Idk man, considering how sporadic his releases still are, I think he just doesn't like consistency lol
“The same label that your making is payin me” “dre day only meant eazy pay day” Bro💀
It's amazing that without Eazy E "gangsta rap" would have never existed. I loved Eazy's sound but I dropped him like a hot brick when he was going after Dre, Snoop, Dogg Pound, and Ice Cube. R.I.P. - Nate Dogg! I do enjoy hearing all of NWA today. Though I still lean to the right with Dre. Gonna have to bump Eazy this next week!
Never heard the line "Dre Day meant Eazy's Pay Day or the fact that Dre and his group was sending 20% of their profits with Eazy! No that's Gangsta!
I never heard any youtuber say to their fans, ”you need to show more support” 😂😂
@GeXBam Official same 😂😂
Hopefully RUclips can keep this one.
There would have been no Ruthless Records, no Death Row Records, and no Aftermath Records without the man who makes the muzik. That would be Dr Dre, but there would be no Dr Dre without no financing. Any Muzik Mogul will tell you that the most important part of Da Muzik Biz is GREAT SONGS. Songs that the listener can repetitiously enjoy over and over and over again 💯 RIP ERIC "EAZY E" WRIGHT
Fun Fact: If you look up "Studio Gangster" in the dictionary, there's a picture of Dre.
is not Easy to Touch Eazy suge never did to Beat up eazy if he do that he would be Dead in 1991
Exactly Eazy is Kelly Park Compton Crip, and Sur 13 Brown side Locos. He had Compton and LA.
Eazy wasn’t ever lying, he was from the streets and moved that way. They were really surprised he chose the money??? Dr Dre was never gangster he came from a good home and didn’t gangbang like his big bro. He did however lead the way for all studio gangsters like 2pac and many future artists
Dre is an actual artist with talent. Anyone who has a young hungry Dre, Cube, and DOC would look like a mastermind. What did Eazy really do besides spit someone else's writtens over a Dre beat?
I feel like the only reason Dre was talking all that shit on Dre Day cuz he had suge knights and death row on his side. Kinda bold, Eazy was a gangster.
Eazy ALWAYS won in our Hearts...even when he was alive 💯..no cap 🧢...Rest Well Big Dog E🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Man while watching this I was like, "he missed this part" then you would talk about it right after I thought it lol. This was a great video and you literally got every single diss in there. Crazy how you included Kokane's diss cuz that was kinda under the radar and nobody talks about it as well as talking about Mo Murda and Shots To Tha Double Glock being disses cus not much people actually know that those songs took part in it. Also, I agree on Old School Shit being the best diss overall. I liked DPG Killa too. I'm glad you did your research watched every interview, heard every diss, and added every little thing in here. Have never seen a video talking about all of it, usually just pieces of the story.
It's a shame that it came to this because they all were powerful when they worked together. That being said though, Easy won. The fact that Easy dissed Dre on different songs and got paid off the songs that Dre dissed him on is EPIC...LOL
"In a game called 5 minutes of fame, you wasted 4 minutes now you got seconds left"
Love man! Followed you on all platforms. Thank you for all the great content.
Bro, I know I am late to this this party. But I never knew rap, and I heard about all of the rappers that had been killed, I wanted to find out about wrap. Your channel is giving me so much. I really really appreciate it. I never really cared for the music but now I am really down with the lyrics so almost 60 I’m getting rap.
They must be getting you for copyright so you keep editing and uploading
DoggPounds argument to Eazy E was that he didn’t sell as many records as them, which is pretty cold
But Eazy E’s argument was that they aren’t the ones getting payed for it Lmaooo
🤣🤣
Eazy was selling more Records than Dogg Pound. It wasn‘t just That they got paid less than him.
RIP Eazy-E Godfataher of G Rap. Dre keep killing the beats, can we get Detox already.
18:20 it remembers me of the line " you're gonna take advice from somebody who slapped dee barnes" 😂😂😂😂
We need a ice cube vs cypress hill who really won
Ice cube because cypress hill called to stop the beef
I've seen it
Ice Cube was wrong stealing their song Cypress Hill at least keep it secret and squash it before it turned dangerous like Tupac and Biggie.
Marcel Zachary right it definitely would have turned dangerous it was rumored to almost start a race war between blacks and Hispanics. thankfully the beef didn’t fully spill in the streets.
@@jaheenbrasko1755 stop lying....Cypress hill had the Mexican mafia on their side and it was ice cube that called and wanted to stop the beef. Everybody knows the mexicans run los angeles.
100% Eazy won, Dre’s disses were awesome and hit hard but Eazy went crazy on his
Eazy kept it humble , rip to him
It seems like Suge is only a bully if he's the aggressor
He got embarrassed trying that on greg the barber
@Shove This L Up Your Ass Master P wanted no problems with Suge or the bloods. If you were living in LA at that time, you would know that P couldnt do shit to Suge back then.
@Shove This L Up Your Ass bruh, Im from LA, and I know at that time SUge was the most feared man in hiphop in the 90s. He had the streets and hollywood shook. He only got ran up on, when he got outnumbered. I respect P as a businessman, but theres no way he couldve stepped to Suge on some street shit back then!
@@eyecontrol4900 LA been tough, but don't get it fucked up like NOLA wasn't the murder capitol.. yes suge had paid pirus but P had killas from the actual projects, and guys like Soulja Slim who I know for fact suge wouldn't have stepped to
@@eyecontrol4900 no limit wasnt worried about no blood crip shit they had gangsters on the payroll too
"Fuck the beef nigga i miss you" bro theres a clear winner
